If I call you “hey lefty” it has no sexual connotation, but if you ask me to stop and I keep doing it that’s still harassment. The article says he is saying this sort of thing to everyone … that’s worse isn’t it? Sounds like he is married but going around being thirsty, calling the woman flirty names and then ignoring anyone who asks him to stop.

Honestly, though, a lot of standards can be made to suit everyone. For example: at school your shirt must have sleeves, the front must not be open below the level of your armpits, your skirt or pants should reach your knees, no visible bellies. I’m not saying these should be the rules, just that if you’re going to write a rule it’s fairly easy to make it apply to everyone equally.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8812498/ Females account for >50% of the global population and, therefore, a significant proportion of the patient population,4 yet women wait longer than men for both a diagnosis5 and pain relief, and6,7 are more likely to be misdiagnosed or discharged during serious medical events.5 As far as underfunding in general, if you live somewhere that you can get quick and uncomplicated access to free health care when you need it then perhaps it doesn’t apply t…

To balance this a little: most research and Medicine over the last hundred years has been done on men. This means that diseases which behave differently in women are not well understood. health in general is underfunded, where the general population is concerned.

Fertilization after vasectomy is not impossible. Condoms do break by accident. I agree with your main point though, there’s a lot of people who make no effort.

That’s correct.

I mean, there’s only two people involved here and OP only had control over one of them. So who else you gonna blame? Now is the time to accept the past (including taking the blame for your own decisions) and figure out what to do with the consequences.

Every part of the decision to have a child or not is made by the female, except the original decision to put your dick in there. Make good choices!

No, I’m saying neither are ready for marriage. The new estimates bring the total number of child brides and child grooms to 765 million. Girls remain disproportionately affected, with 1 in 5 young women aged 20 to 24 years old married before their 18th birthday, compared to 1 in 30 young men. (Source) This is worldwide data, not India-specific, but data on child grooms is more difficult to find than brides. Still, it’s myopic to say all child marriages in India - which again is abhorrent no matt…

You’ll note it’s mostly girls married young. Are you denying this is a real problem?

… do you believe that though? If someone is willing to marry a child, they aren’t really thinking about what’s best for the child.

Based on his post and comments though, the guy ignored everything they had talked about and put in zero effort (“hey wanna get married” just in their room) so maybe he’s not that excited about her either.

It’s both. It isn’t one or the other. Women do need shelters, and they do get abused by men. Men also need resources, different ones in different places. So it’s ok to say, “that’s awesome!” when women get the help they need. In fact, that’s the only appropriate response. If you see a lack of resources for men in your area, or a lack of understanding in your family, then get involved in providing help and advocating for abused men. That way both men and women can find help when they need it, and…

There’s evidence that nowadays the pay gap is actually the result of taking time off to raise a child; the career path is interrupted and sometimes fully reset which leads to lower overall income than someone who stays in their industry.

Behaviour is communication. What is she trying to say when abusing you that she can’t seem to put into words? Also, what are you expressing by putting up with it? Ending the relationship will be easier and quicker, but answering these questions will make a huge difference in your future - whether you remain together or not. Get help from a professional.

If she really is the primary breadwinner, you qualify for spousal support. Do not be accommodating, because it encourages her to continue making unfair decisions and that costs more to sort out in the end. If there’s shared money you can access, pay as much of your housing costs as you can in advance. It’s not stealing because there’s still shared benefit, but you guarantee a roof over your head for a while.

This reaction is part of the problem: “I haven’t seen it, this can’t be real.” It’s part of what started the “Me too” and “believe all women” campaigns (which were problematic, just saying they were a kickback against disbelief every time a victim raised a fuss). UNICEF - graphic showing how globally it is a huge problem (21%). Elsewhere on their site they say it happens to boys about 1/6th as often as girls. Dataset you can query by country Our World in Data child marriage data with an interact…

You’re right - but how and where you call out a corrupt cop makes a big difference. The job of police is to enforce the law, and that’s a potentially dangerous job - so as a society we give them special protections too, including making it illegal to resist arrest or in general fuck around with cops. This cop isn’t corrupt - he’s just trying to enforce a simple seatbelt violation. That’s his job. It would go much better if the people would show a little respect, apologize, take the ticket and be…

Freedom of speech is not the same as freedom to be abusive - especially to authority. Call your mom a wanker and then yell “freedom of speech”, see if it helps.

Ok, maybe I am weird but circumcision has never bothered me. You might change my view but not like this. The argument “Look, this bad thing happened, we should ban the whole practice” is not a good one. Anti-vax people use that exact same argument! It is not logically valid.

One accurate answer is “abortion law”. The law is based on protection of the unborn baby’s physical body - male or female - before birth. Whether you believe abortion is ok or not, that’s the basis for the law in the first place.

Finding real girls to talk to is hard

My point was, it's not gender related. You're dealing with an unpleasant person, and she is female - but pettiness isn't just a girl thing in general. Guys are petty too, and it's poor character either way. If she says "it's fine for me because I am a girl" the answer is, "I don't think being a girl automatically means you get to be a jerk" and leave it at that.

Being petty is unpleasant in both sexes.
