I agree, but this is the United Kingdom laws are different in different countries. This teenaged boy would not been named by authorities in this specific occasion. I do feel however that a false allegations should carry at the very least, although difficult to quantify, 70% of the punishment as if they had committed the crime and be found guilty. The name of the girl isn’t released in this article likely because their is a chance that legal action is being taken against her. It’s possible that the accuser is still under the age of 18, that may have something to do with why she’s not been named I’m not quite sure. Additionally the reason this young mans name is being revealed is because his family want his story to be told, they are also featuring in a TV series about false rape accusations.
