I personally wouldn't. I value my time too much. But this is exactly how my friend's friend relationship worked out. Muslim man and Buddhist woman meet and had a 'relationship'. She knew basically from the start explicitly that due to his religious background that they were never going to work out on paper (marry a Muslim woman and she wasn't going to convert). She still tried anyways. He basically used her just like in your example, but I don't think it's really all his fault. He was upfront ab…

I'm American but my race (Asian) and the subsequent culture around shoes in the house has been in my entire life. I have a no shoes policy in the house period. I can tell when someone has walked past the shoe matt in my place with shoes on. I am also a huge no dog inside the house as well ( I get an apt/condo can be different) but I digress. It just irks me when people aren't clean level consistent across the board.

No. Completely agree. There were times where I was inside a woman's bedrooms and have been "this relationship is over after tonight" because it was so dirty/messy. As someone who is on the 'anal' side of being clean, I think having cleanliness should be aligned with both partners. I'd wager most of these 'clean' women here let their dog sleep with them in their bed or don't wash their dog or dog's paws every time they enter the house.

The vast majority of men don't. I bet you pulled a random guy off the street he won't be able to show where his car's oil pan drain plug is located or what oil viscosity his car takes. You don't really need to rotate tires with modern tire technology anymore. "Technically" everyone not in the California should be running a full winter set and full summer set (we know almost no one does this anymore). I have had one too many tire debates with tire shop techs over rotation schedules and 4 vs 5 tir…

Honestly, he actually did have pretty good psych stuff before the redpill sell out. I think he wouldn't get nearly as much hate if he could tie the 'redpill' to real psychology meta-analysis/studies, but that would cost him 90% of his viewership. At one point I'd considered seeing him when he was back at <$400/h (he's in CA I believe), but I thought then he still charged too much.

No shit relationships are individual and unequal, but institutions are not 'supposed' be equal either. Because life is unequal. Education for example, if it were truly a meritocracy, most kids wouldn't graduate high school and the vast majority of colleges would be Asian majority. But we can't have that. We need to 'uplift' the unsuccessful other races regardless of socioeconomic class/academic performance (at the cost of Asians btw) and have DEI. No. The best qualified should succeed, period. T…

I don't mind and have stated in the past women should be more cutthroat (not just in dating, but life in general). It's amusingly jarring when you point it out how ironic it compares with woman's voting and political ideologies.

Repeat after me. Women are bleeding heart liberals but when it comes to dating, they are rugged capitalists. Now I'm not socialist per se nor think there should be state-mandated girlfriends, but late-stage capitalism applies just as much to dating and relationships as it does to the economy.

I have had dogs/pets in the past (and plan to again). I do think you may need to clean daily depending on the breed, but that is a CHOICE made. Complaining that you are doing more work for a choice YOU made is ridiculous. If it's too much work, why did you take on the requirements/responsibilities of a dog (not saying you specifically)? Also, in my experience a lot of women just randomly, without any planning, adopt a dog/cat then complain about cleaning after it (you know you just signed up for…

It's too much work and too much time commitment. Something something, juice ain't worth the squeeze. Between marathon training, and other hobbies there isn't enough time/energy. I also just moved so unpacking, cleaning, small projects and calling contractors etc (thank god I don't need a GF's input/permission). Sure, if a hot girl (stranger or otherwise) randomly asked me out of the blue (assuming it wasn't a scam), I'd give it an honest effort. I'm American and trust, the women in my age bracke…

I think in some cases it's an OCD-lite thing where they feel compelled to clean because things have to be a certain way for them to feel at ease. That and having a sense of routine and control. One of my coworkers dust her TV stand and shelves and vacuum her living room carpet daily. I think many women overstate the 'work' they do when it comes to cleaning. I'm an OCD asian and I don't even clean that much. All of those tasks are weekly things at best. There was a recent askmen thread where one …

Define higher earning professional sectors and success. Give me your examples you have of career women dating 'down'. Besides law and healthcare, I haven't really seen women marry or date 'down' in socioeconomics. I also have another friend who's a real estate agent who's married to a mechanic, but I think they roughly make the same (her a tad more), and maybe a few other examples. But the vast majority of my white collar and tech/stem friends, the dude makes a standard deviation more than the w…

From a practical sense, religion is surprisingly very dry if you try to read the Bible and understand any of the texts in any meaningful way. I always found myself falling asleep at mass or church when trying out church when I was younger. I just hate how vague and hypocritical it is (at least Christianity based religion). You can be an adulterous whore or murdering grapist but if you repent/confess you're forgiven? Nah. You're PoS that deserves the social and cultural scrutiny and should be sha…

I have plenty of women friends... that I am not attracted to physically in any way and would never breach our friendship for a relationship no matter how close we are as friends. With that said, most of them know my lifestyle, how I look, mannerisms, humor, etc and have produced precisely zero setups with friends or friend of friends. Granted some of them do live or moved to the other side of the country and would setup me up if I moved. Another side anecdote - my ex climbing partners' ex who's …

I have kinda of an interesting parental story. Parents are divorced, but Mom 'remarried' in practice but no on paper. Both her and the fucked-up Step-dad have perished due to poor health outcomes. My Dad turned down his hot secretary he was dating after the divorce (she was the weird blonde woman that showed up all of a sudden, but I never met her personally) for a family citing my brother's and I were enough. Ironically, my mother wanted more kids just not with my Dad, and my Dad wanted more ki…

Just to expand. A lot of push back in the comments from the pro-therapy camp, but as someone who went and tried a few therapists (both for grief/guilt and general counsel) I didn't gain much value. It did help after I watched a direct family member die in front of me, but this "CBT" is largely a sophisticated way of saying 'just rethink your approach bro". And no, it's not about finding the 'right' therapist. Maybe if there were more guy therapists, but I digress. They are not a coach nor a ment…

/r/PurplePillDebate12/03/26 07:03 PM

I mean if you want to be condescending and irate that's fine. But just because something can be used to kill yourself doesn't make it stupid. Are cooking knifes stupid? Hammers? I guess power tools are too. Accidently killing yourself is not necessarily stupid. Accident's happen. Sure a bunch of guys kill themselves doing stupid risky things. Just because you enable more risky behaviors (for young men) doesn't mean it's stupid. The fact you think this is egregious. More young men should be takin…

Bro, what are you talking about? You asked her if she'd buy her underage kid a vehicle that is known for putting people in the ground and decided because she said no to that, she would also not allow her kid to get a job? I used myself as an example. Please explain how this is lashing out. Yes to the motorcycle/car; I do think it's stifling for underage kids not to be responsible for one. Where did she answer that about the kids job? I can only assume since she's so risk adverse and thinks those…
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/26 09:38 AM

A lot of people would say intentionally taking a risk is stupid.. Men take greater risks, and generally are rewarded if those risks pay out. No shit car insurance is higher for them driving young. I don't think it's stupid to give a 16 year/old a car/motorcycle nor having them pay/buy/own one themselves. Risky, absolutely, but seeing how you two think it's stupid proves my point on stunted sons through risk adverse parenting.

Right, so because it's 'masculine" it's not stupid? Dude, it's stupid. I gendered it cause men are mostly into those things, even at younger ages. Please tell me how it is stupid? Did you tell them that you wanted to get a job in order to buy a gun or a motorcycle? In which case you absolutely didn't want autonomy, you wanted a gun or a motorcycle. They wanted to ensure you weren't going to kill yourself. Honestly, not it bother you that much go and get some therapy. Project more. If I wanted to …

Herein lies the problem. Those are markers of masculine leaning proclivities you called 'stupid'. Sure dangerous, but not stupid. We are not here to argue if dangerous is stupid. I wanted a job and autonomy, not to play fucking video games at a young age. Instead of being rewarded for showing ambition and drive, I was punished. Maybe I should have just lied on job applications without permission from parents to get job, but that's not the point here. Thanks for admitting that you rather neuter y…

Would you buy your (hypothetical son) a shotgun or a motorcycle if he asked for one (let's say he's 16-18)? Or at the very least, allow him to earn if it that's what he wanted. I've seen this far too much coddling in today's parenting. I wanted to work at 15/16 in order to buy a motorcycle. My parents said nah, but said playing games all day was fine.

I have met more than one woman IRL with a fucking spreadsheet of their sexual encounters. I, to my knowledge, don't think I am on a spreadsheet somewhere. But the whole 'are we dating the same man' fiasco may say otherwise. I don't have a fucking spreadsheet but if I did, I would 100% be upfront about it.

Flip side. I have said this a few times before. When I have swiped IRL in real time with girl friends they literally gloss over guys they have passed their checklist: taller than her, doctor, same race, same age, not too far. Pass for some random fucking reason like he was at "this" restaurant. Like what? Even at a 1% match rate from 300 likes that's at least three VERY GOOD options and you don't want to meet any of them? It literally triggers me in real time.

And I thought strip clubs were scams. This is a regarded take. A NON-REFUNDABLE money deposit doesn't mean buy-in from the man. This just means he's a simp. Just because he was low effort with you is more of a reflection of your dumbass for putting up with it. There's already an app for paying to "look but can't use"; it's called OF. Several women have shown that when given the opportunity, they can equally rise to the occasion. You mean very few women CHOOSE to deal with the stress, competition, cutthroat, and overall adversity in order to rise to the occasion. The vast majority of women don't.

In my original OP I said either/or. I am happy to take my wife's name if it's more socially convenient or sounds cooler. Yes, I would change my last name to my wife's. I would not be okay with us hyphenating our kids' names with both of our last names.

How many people do you know have hyphenated last names? I know only one off the top of my head. Everyone else either takes one or the other parent's last name and if they keep their maiden name, it's maybe the middle name. I'm no historical linguist or w/e but arbitrarily saying how you name your family does matter. Unless your parents are celebrities or famous people, keeping a consistent last name between everyone sounds like the most logical thing legally and socially. It's not hard to pronou…

Ex. John Doe marries Jane Smith Son is named David Doe-Smith. Instead of David Smith or David Doe. Does that make sense? It's ridiculous in pronunciation, addressing the person, and the family hierarchy. "Hello, you must be Mr. Doe-Smith's Father". Even just saying that out loud sounds dumb. You also have to explain to the kid some random reason he has this weird name that's not the same has their parents'.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 06:32 PM

Only if there weren't kids. I think it's ridiculous when kids have like 3 hyphenated names plus a middle name (at least in America). No, the kids EITHER take the Father's OR the Mother's, and as a family unit you should all share the same surname.

I'm not claiming he was specifically a TRP success, but the validity of his blue pill success. I think general advice for self-improvement is blue pill, sure, but dedicated action and procedure to get dates/laid/relationship and seduction (much to which I know he glossed over) have RP elements (style etc) in it. I think he's retarded and asinine, but I digress.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/26 12:27 AM

Improving your appearance to be more attractive to members of the opposite sex is a concept that long predates the red pill. It's a mainstream view, which is by definition blue pill. I will concede "improve your looks" is a blue pill ideology, but systematic improvement to get laid/relationship etc. is not. Blue pill is just mainstream beliefs, and the mainstream believes that looks are very important. The last time I checked "big is beautiful" is still mainstream, and mainstream fat shaming isn…

To burn time at work. And having been here a long time, I sympathize with a lot of the guys who aren't successful with women (especially the blackpilled guys). Since for some reason a large volume of the Blue pilled men give off a lot of "I'm married, get fucked incel RP" vibe, I feel drawn to argue the other(s) side.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/01/26 07:40 PM

The OP is asking about successful Blue pill stories (some in this thread that actually good examples). This guy deployed RP tactics under the guise of 'common sense', even tried PUA, and says it was his blue pill success story. That's what I have issue with.

Bahahahahahaha Jesus Christ red pill will try to take credit for the most basic common sense, it is unreal. ???. A blue pill story would have been "I have dated a few times, and met my wife at coffee shop/hobby/work etc." Instead, we get a huge rant about how you were unsuccessful, took actionable systematic steps to correct it. What's unreal is that you call your concerted, targeted, and systematic changes 'common sense' and a blue pill success story. Reeeee I was successful with women; look at…

God you blue pillers can be insufferable at times. This is NOT 'just world fallacy' that you happily landed into your relationship happily ever after just doing your own thing (blue pill). "ok, what do you want society to do?" Many of them provide answers to this (i.g. mandatory paternity testing). Whether they are feasible or not is a different discussion. There's posts from men saying "don't listen to women's advice" This is correct. Especially with dating. This is the same pandering argument used against men's problems/issues. "Men have issues, but acktually woman most affected". You gloss over the fact that you going on 100+ dates before you met your husband is not the equivalent of a man going on a 100+ dates. Sure it's work, but if most of my dates were 80% of what I was looking for or more, I wouldn't have problem with your post. Most men wouldn't either but have no choice but to filter AFTER they have been chosen regardless of their standards. Dating fatigue for women is NOT the same as dating fatigue for men. Beggers can't be choosers.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/12/25 03:40 PM

Yes. But more so in committed relationships. I have been watching too much of James Sexton, but he said something along the lines of "the price of my solitude is your companionship" heavily implying that sex is an obligation in a marital contract. I actually agree and empathize with all the dead bedroomed husbands out there.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/25 09:13 PM

My issue with your post is Scott Galloway. Remember he's also the same guy who publicly states or infers that more guys should be having drunken unprotected sex and complains about economically unviable men. He's insufferable and tone deaf.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/12/25 08:10 PM

Maybe you're right. I still don't understand why women lose their marbles if they get 80% of what their looking for in a partner when it's the exact opposite for men.

Well said. Regarding the suicide rate, I did a deep dive because I couldn't believe gun deaths were greater than car/vehicle deaths in America in the last year. But low and behold, car/vehicle deaths have remained constant or slightly lower over the years, but the suicide rate by gun by men has skyrocketed which accounts for most of the gun deaths in recent years. Those news outlets left that little detail out.

I know. I am being hyperbolic. But the loser suffers real wounds and still repeats the attempt at competition because 'reproduction'. Without getting into the weeds of ecology, natural selection or sociology OP's argument is dumb. There are plenty of valid reasons unsuccessful (mating) men to be angry with women, because women (in aggregate) still largely can partake in their biological imperative (by choice) if they want. This is not the case for men in aggregate.

Marry someone who is like the best friend you also want to sleep with, who wants the same things you want out of life. Can you expand on this? I whole heartedly agree with you but have found myself at odds with this. I just find it untenable as I get older asking for a partner with even just one of these core identities to be asking a lot (climb 5.13 with me, run a sub 3h marathon with me, etc). I feel like we ask our partners to be EVERYTHING in a relationship in modern times.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/25 12:35 AM

Off the top of my head: one didn't like our offer (70k+/year with good benefits), another wanted to finish their master's instead, and one kinda ghosted for no reason (lack of response to HR). These were all women with good resumes and interviewed well. Still decided not to move forward.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/25 03:31 PM

This has been shown in many studies. The vast majority of the most equitable, egalitarian, and socially liberal societies see a INCREASE in job gender disparity, not a decrease. Women overwhelmingly choose NOT to go into STEM or dangerous jobs when given the choice. I have literally worked in IT groups trying to hire more women. They decline when given the offer.

I disagree. And I know hindsight is 20/20, but I remember vividly asking parents if I should switch majors (engineering to computer science) and they said it was a bad idea. I should have followed my gut, and if I had started working at as a SWE in early 2010s things would be vastly different today (even though I work in tech, just not private and not rich AF as my senior SWE/techbro friends).

The biggest lesson it has taught me: no one, and I mean no one, not even my own mother, has my best interests in mind. That is completely and 100% up to me. Yes, I am happier because I don't gaslight myself into thinking things I want are bad for me. I go get what I want and find out if I want it or like it. Eg. I am finally giving up motorcycling after my second major accident (lucky to survive highway crash) without life altering injuries and only because rehabilitation/recovery is too much of…

I actually do think most hetero men would get tired of ONS/hookups with hot women if they could get a hookup in under an hour swiping on any random app or cold approach. The harsh reality though is that until you've experienced it, no man will ever believe that (me included). Just like how billionaires say money doesn't matter. Ya no shit, if I had more money than I could ever spend money doesn't fucking matter.

I've always wanted to go to a supermodel runway fashion/swimsuit show to experience it in person. It actually seems kinda cool. Too bad I'm not a rich and powerful/famous or a Gigachad male runway model. Hats off to the Gigachad who trolled one show by walking up and down in a trash bag before getting decked by security.

With maybe the exception of Tesla, I will bet my life savings, that every single one of those men have had their fill of sex (illegal or otherwise) and sexual access, and probably still do at their impotent ages. Even to this day. Men kill each (and themselves) other over pussy. And is at minimum a top 3 reasons why extremely high achieving/successful men exist at all. For me, this doesn't apply to gender norms specifically, but just in general. I think laws and rules should be MORE DRACONIAN and enforced VERY HARSHLY. Unfortunately, there's too much leeway in enforcement and even laws aren't applied equally to both genders. I don't give a fuck if women are biologically weaker in general, you either acknowledge that they are (and apply laws/culture/etc. around it) or you don't (which seems to be the prevailing zeitgeist). I hate this whole 'nuance' when it com…

Bullshit, women get actual skin treatments at a spa that don't come off. This has to be said again... when women 'looksmaxx' it's almost entirely beauty products and skincare. A woman is far better served eating correctly and actually fucking working out consistently to achieve a specific body fat percentage. Every fucking time this is either glossed over or left out.

It's not even that they earn as much, or more than most men, it's that left to their own devices women, generally speaking, are perfectly content with subsisting on the bare minimum to survive. Funny you say this. In my experience it's almost the exact opposite. You sure you didn't replace women with men. There's a reason why the mattress + tv + pc/game console meme is a thing. Men can live very minimally compared to their female counterparts. Also, side note: pets - women spend 10X more on thei…

Yes, because the vast amount of vitriol towards men from women is 'acceptable' for lack of better term, while the reverse is not. And yes the social zeitgeist in Western media, education, and even the corporate world is the oh so omnipresent 'girl boss' and men are trash mentality. The most privileged class in the world, Western women, still seem to think men are not worth it and trash in aggregate, and even act on it in many cases. No, they struggle because in EVERY. FUCKING. MAINSTREAM MOVIE. women specifically the heroine, is not allowed to suffer or struggle organically. I don't even know her name but the woman in the Kill Bill movies is great heroine example and "girl boss" who's competent and triumphantly gets her revenge. But she also gets punched in the face multiple times, shot, kills a mother in front of her daughter, and is buried alive. She's a proper girl boss.

There's one thing about the military I find it quite interesting; it's the extreme polarity of it all. It's all or nothing. You either pay for men to go to war and bombs to blow up terriosts or you don't. I think there's suppressed demand (low wages lol), which is why older richer man do it. I don't see any benefit either (unless it was fully legalized) at least in the USA. Granted, Eastern countries have huge red light districts (even though prostitution is illegal there: China, Korea, Japan - even more so in SEA). I think it's much greater than 3% of men of those countries, but for other reasons.

Yes, after my mother passed. It sorta helped with the coping? I actually went before her death 'just to be better bro' and that was a total waste of time and money. A more right wing environment means more harsh enforcement. Yes, against women. Repealing labor laws will just drive down everyone's wages. Firms want to keep more money at the end of the day. But the bigger impact of repealing labor laws will be safety standards. That means work will be more grueling, lead to more injuries and deaths. And that mostly effects male dominated professions. Yes, men work the hardest labor jobs and will be more affected by 'safety labor law repeal'. But we're talking…

At a very high level: No abortion > women forced to take care of a child (his) > evolutionarily this is him winning (could even vote to take away child support - this is already in the pipeline). Labor laws (from OP's charts) are self explanatory: women make less > more earning for men.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/08/25 09:59 PM

I forgot which youtube video I saw. But women SHOULD care about young men's problems because they WILL vote for things that directly hurt women (taking away abortion, labor laws, etc.) and vote for their self interests. I am not advocating for socialized pussy, but there's a reason why men, especially younger men, are moving more and more right-auth (this is not even just limited to America either or a race thing).

I honestly empathize with the brother. You cannot control people, let alone a woman. At least for me as a 'clean freak', I am way less clean when living with other people because you can never hold them to your cleanliness standards nor trust them to follow through. If someone is not as clean as you want them to be, do it yourself or leave them. The reason why men date slob girlfriends is obvious; I don't understand why women date slob men.

I have already said that by HIS definition and by most women's definition of approaching, they have. I think he's just trying to be politically correct about it. What is being implied when OP is asking if a woman has approached the average man he's asking: "How many times has a heterosexual woman asked you out directly?" This is a misnomer. That famous study of $75k/year is ~$115k/year today (assuming after taxes). By that logic, a person would need to make at least $150k+ in order to 'maximize' the happiness from earning more money. Until that point, yes money will make you happier (linearly).

You are describing black pill "born into it or its joever". The just world fallacy and 'just be yourself bro' and you'll be successful is what I have issues with. Dating is extremely capitalistic for men, arguably worse. People (mostly women) would say it's not but then immediately enforce the capitalistic side on men. Where's the quote again...oh yes: "Women are bleeding heart liberals, but when it comes to dating they are rugged capitalists"

This may be correct for your anecdotal case, but most couples are looks-matched (assortative mating). This either means you WERE attracted to him or he wasn't ugly enough for you not to reject him outright. I have never grown more attracted to a woman physically because of 'personality'. Her personality doesn't make her boobs bigger, if I happen to like her vibe. She's either attractive or not.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/25 06:44 PM
19

Because I will have sex with every hot woman who 'pumps and dumps' me, and it would never bother me. This is a fantasy. Even if I did somehow want this theoretical relationship more than the woman in question (this is a woman fantasy by the way), her dropping me for some other dude wouldn't be a problem cause some other 9/10 would come by and then fuck me. Men wouldn't have relationships if they could get sex consistently without them.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/07/25 07:44 PM

You're basically insinuating that a supermodel would lead me on and sleep with me... without introducing me to her social circle. That sounds like a massive fucking W. All of the benefits with none of the downside. This theoretical doesn't work in reverse, because men want sex more (especially if she's more attractive than him), and women will never want more sex than men in aggregate.

Define happiness. Content, and relatively satisfied with life (socially, professionally, personally)? Yes, for the most part. It would be nice to have a consistent girlfriend, but the drawbacks are just too much. I could use so more money, but that's even easier than the girlfriend. I wouldn't mind a family, but that seems like a 'juice ain't worth the squeeze' issue as well. I may come off as crass, but it's because most dating discussions are argued in bad faith. No because the majority immediately and awkwardly leave after I respond with the title of the book and if I would recommend it/books like it. If any of those who didn't scamper off like cowards, after 20 seconds of dialogue I'd probably be more empathetic. Women do not approach and cannot handle rejection in dating to the extent than men MUST endure. This is an abhorrent double standard that is grossly overlooked in the male experience.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/06/25 09:14 AM

Because every woman who says they have approached IRL does not explicitly say "I want to go out with you" or something along those lines. This is indeed cowardice. They indirectly approach. I have never had a woman do this to me but I have had plenty of women ask "what book I was reading" on the train or at the coffee shop. And no they didn't actually give a shit about the book I was reading.

Because women CHOOSE at the end of the day. Are you being ignorant on purpose? Men, generally, take what they can get in dating and can't afford to choose. They only go on dates THAT WOMEN decide. Most men would date most women if given the opportunity, this is not the case in reverse.

Is your problem with RP as a whole? Society (men and women) blames men for their problems. Yet there is basically no mention about how men are responsible for their own actions. Literally Jordan Peterson's entire MO, what his lectures and first book is all about. Why do you think he's so popular with young men? Women get a lot of flak from RP because they are ultimately the bottleneck in dating and unilaterally control the direction (if sex, dates, relationships happen) barring grape, SA, etc. B…

Hierarchies exists whether you like it or not. Just because we are all 'equal in the eyes of human society' doesn't mean our lesser biological instincts/realities don't exist. E.G. women (females) ARE the primary child rearers because they LITERALLY give birth to them. There will always be a 'them' and a 'us'. We literally came from tribes that, surprise, kill and compete with other tribes for resources. Things aren't being made worse by grouping things, it's the deliberate disingenuous of those…

Define 'success' with women. To be crass, I would identify it as having a soft harem of 8+/10 you sleep with on a semi reg rotation until you pick one you like for a LTR and/or have line of them when you leave your last relationship. Even just sleeping with 8+/10 or STR consistently would count. Most men (5-7/10) can easily get a LTR with a 3-5/10 woman if they tweak a few things (eg money/status/looks-style). This is not success by RP standards. If you say you have a friend anecdotal case of a …

Women shouldn't be protected from being treated 'as equal' as men treat other men, just like the other poster said. If a woman makes a shitty decision, that's her fault, period. There shouldn't be a push for women in positions of power/technicality for equality's sake, or be shamed for not getting what they want in dating as men do, men SHOULD KEEP THEIR OWN SPACES if women have their own, etc. I'm not going to into into the big political thesis solutions as they have been discussed already.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/24 06:37 PM

I was going to write a dissertation, but a good example of this is "the burden of performance". In both personal and professional settings, a man MUST perform well if he's to excel in any meaningful way or be successful (competent, work smarter AND harder, date with purpose - well groomed/in shape, stable job, own place, get rejected A LOT, move the relationship in a direction). He must be ACTIVE AND RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS ZEITGIEST or he will fail. A woman doesn't need to do that in most cases and…

Even among conventional western beauty standards there is a lot of variation. There are a also a lot of people who personally meet western beauty standards but aren't attracted to a lot of conventional beauty standards. Sure. Variation exists. But most couples are 'looks matched' even according to studies. Again, beauty and physical looks are objectively measurable and documented. Just because someone says you are something doesn't mean you are; I've been told the same things. It sets a false precedent and is disingenuous. I know where I stand objectively (by conventional western beauty standards). It doesn't mean I can't change that or it defines me (however you interpret that), but it does give me a framework/basis/heuristic/philosophy on how to live life. Sure an obese person can be 'beautiful', but most people don't think that.

/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/22 12:05 AM

Yes. Seriously though, a woman's libido and subsequent attraction is based on how she feels/likes your actions/personality towards her. It also gives her an easy route for plausible deniability and can choose the 'best' man based on reaction/emotion to him. For example, it can be very low/nonexistent at baseline until the right 'person' comes along. Then it can be through the roof (apparently). Personally, I have never found a girl's libido to skyrocket 'once in a relationship', but maybe I have…

Lastly, I truly believe dating apps have eliminated social skills almost entirely. I’m a 24-year-old relatively attractive woman who exercises regularly (grew up an athlete) and still have not been approached or asked out on a date by a man in 8 months At all? Or a man you deem attractive? Big distinction.

No. But I'm 32, almost 33. Upper-limit is +1/2 years. But I want multiple kids (2+), which is a difficult discussion for 30+ women. You didn't specify how many. 2+? I assume if you even get there. I know A LOT of women who stopped at one or had a miscarriage in their 30s (which is usually a death sentence for trying again or for more kids due to obvious reasons).

Testosterone is an immunosuppressant. Thus, any guy with a hard-jaw line, veiny/vascular arms/hands, more facial/body hair is seen as more attractive to women since it signals a man's genetics (body) is able to handle higher levels of natural testosterone. It is also primarily linked to aggressive/risky behavior, libido, disagreeableness, etc. Many people overlook this. Testosterone is a feature not a bug; it also drops precipitously after a man has a kid, and roughly 30-35 (if he's not active).

Was gonna agree until you said 'maintained'. Maintenance begets an expectation. If I keep maintaining X, then Y should be expected ad infinitum. Besides extenuating circumstances, sex should be expected consistently throughout the relationship (LTR in this case). Sure it may 'ebb and flow', but if someone isn't getting a minimal threshold, then it's done. Sex should be expected, especially in marriage.

I generally agree with you Gravel, but LOOKS are a requirement for an LTR as well. Sexual attraction is a requisite. You cannot solely rely on a personality match (humor, opinions, etc). I’ve dated women both fatter than men and women thinner than me. The traits we had in common weren’t related to body shape at all, we liked each other’s company. I have too, and guess what? It ended because I told them the physical attraction wasn't met/enough.

She's passed. I loved her, but disagreed with her hard on a lot of life philosophies. Ironically she never met any girl I slept with and thought I was celibate. My biggest issue with her is actually the 'step Dad' that's still around but that's a different conversation. Side note: my Grandma who's still alive actually agrees with me on a lot and that quality women are rare these days but still griefs me about no GF every visit.

Unfortunately, not to sound like a stemlord nerd, but Tinder removed the ability to connect to their API openly legally so you cannot download their data (you can't even connect to the other apps). This is like comparing a DIY excel of anecdotal evidence to what actually happens in the source code on the backend. Not comparable.

Not to sound pedantic. But life (specifically in this case TIME), as I've said about biology, is a zero sum game. Those shitty hours invested by a man to get a date, leading to a crappy date could be spend elsewhere (money or hobbies) and vice versa. A woman who wasted her time investing in the wrong guy for a few years is now set back for a children/family, if at all. Your last quote I think a lot of people would enjoy dating/their relationships with others more if they stopped expecting so muc…

I actually I thought that a motorcycle will get me wohmanz. But when I got my first motorcycle, girls were the least of my concerns (not dieing while riding, insurance, shunned by family, etc). But ironically, now it has led to some girls giving me their number and a few dates. But I do say if you want a motorcycle, it should be for yourself and not for the women.

Imb4 BMI is not a fair measurement of health/weight. But I agree, even many of my climber friends fall into the 'overweight' and even some into 'obese' categories. Kinda of depressing

can use tools and likes to remodel/renovate homes Slightly off topic, but I have never met a girl my age (late 20s/early 30s) who even knows what tools do what let alone their actual names (reciprocating saw, drill vs impact driver, miter saw, etc). And I'm just a regular guy who's interested in this stuff, not a professional. I find it hard a soft, cutesy girly girl knows how to handle a reciprocating saw with the right blade insert.

Isn't that the point? Large inequalities exist in a system, till they exceed the carry capacity of the system leading to implosion. Not to sound pedantic - but that's the literal health/scientific definition of overweight: an excess of body fat greater than what is considered normal/healthy. Sure fat can mean anything from overweight to obese, but nonetheless it is a bad tell of lifestyle, habits, and choices.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/21 08:57 AM

I generally agree. However, playing devil's advocate - I have found it hard to find a women of BMI lower than 24 (equally for similar leagued friends) even when you make six figs+ and are on track to make more/ fit/have your own place/car with good grooming habits +hobbies. And yes, them being fat (over 24 BMI) unless she's a body builder etc is a deal breaker. Maybe it's cause I'm American

Not the greatest facial features/symmetry, but fit with ~10-15% bwf, and I make low six figures, and have my own place and relatively clean cut when going out. Not sure - probably that's been exactly what has been shoved down my throat by family and my closest confidants (many which are women mind you) over the years. In many cases, I don't even ask for the advice - it's just general social conversation that comes up and it somehow ends up as shade thrown my way. As a guy, you expect the answer will solve the problem - in this case interacting with women (whether the goal is sex or relationship is a different discussion). Not vague general platitudes a…

The phrase looks aren’t everything, just means that while their not the be all & end all there certainly is a threshold that differs between women but it’s there. Like others have stated, it doesn't affect men's value. Like BookOfSeil said, you can smell 'i'm trying! look!' from legitimate consistent effort. I've told all of my girl friends/coworkers my dating advice, and some 'tried it' but none of them really did. Eating a little less and drink a few less drinks a week for a few weeks is not a lifestyle change that will make you 'hot' which will attract more men (if that's your goal).
/r/PurplePillDebate05/03/20 02:58 AM

A huge proportion of the trade uppers are men who feel they lost out when they were younger and are owed now that they can attract the kind of women they only dreamed about back then. I find it hard to disagree with this, yet I feel like 'mainstream social dynamics' heavily incentives a man who has 'made it' in terms of social/looks/status to juggle multiple women if he has the chance.

Actually inclined to agree. I told few college pals who had 'smokeshow' GFs (or ones with potential) and told them to lock them down before life fucks them (the guys) up. Now they're single (gained weight), and the girls are either married or engaged to the chad versions of their previous BFs. But I guess, that's life.

Average is quantifiable, and in aggregate attraction is also quantifiable (that in itself demonstrates what a baseline consists of). If you disagree, you could always conduct your own study and publish it for review. The whole 'everyone is relative to everyone' is just plain nihilistic.

I have both babysat, changed diapers, and fed my younger cousins a few days here and there (varying ages 3-10) over the years. Obviously not for long periods of time (>few weeks). Not to say it is easy, but it's very manageable. I think a lot of women get stressed over being overprotective, and want 'the very best' (in every category) for their child. This is plainly not going to happen, even with one child. Granted some days I have passed out before the kids (they can be exhausting).

Don't get me wrong, emotional connection is great, combined with physical attraction (even better). But romance, for men is an action, thus work. If it doesn't pan out, in many cases, or go as well as planned, it's on to the next. I'd also argue most men would sleep with a complete stranger (controlling for STI's, ramifications, social consequences etc). You're 'lovers' first over friends, not vice versa (at least from this man's perspective).

I think most men don't want JUST sex. Granted this assumes sex is NEVER (which many women make the mistake of withholding for petty reasons) off the table for an extended period of time without just reason. Also marriage is for the children, not the sex. I repeat my statement that marriage is MUCH more than 'a best friend you fuck', which is many people claim they are essentially. Hint: they're not.

Psychology is a 'soft' science in that you cannot study or replicate (with consistency) what occurs in the environment/wild in a vacuum. There is not doubt evolutionary psychology has some basis in human inter-sexual dynamics, just how humans are in some manner contributing to climate change. Now to the degree at which those things occur, and actual replication of them scientifically would be folly in most cases. Thus, the comparison.

Yes, and I have friendzoned them back in the past (whether or not this was out of spite or me not knowing how to handle it is a different discussion). Now I just friendzone or stop being friends. In heterosexual relationships, it is up to the guy to convince the girl he's good enough for her. I tend to agree. Case example: I have coworker friend who's probably medically overweight but hides her weight pretty well, maybe a 4 at best (imo). But somehow manages to date multiple high profile/successful men (CEO of startup, senior/VP engineers, high powered finance guys) sometimes at the same time, so I guess she really is that fun and cool to be around. Yet she's never been able to lock one down as potential Husband prospect™️.

I find no value in anecdotal evidence, only in large scale statistics and well argued theories This ain't a dating sub, and provides more insight to human interactions than the dumb cirlcejerk/mainstream subs, is not as convoluted/extreme as TRP sub and (god forbid) some of the women here articulate their stance/argument very well (and in good faith).

If we assume NAWALT, then how does a man (in search of a heterosexual relationship) go about looking for a partner? Screening or vetting for a partner abstractly is difficult to communicate to others, especially when everyone has a different situation (women vs men). E.g. "Just be yourself" advice that get's a lot heat. So, sure you can circumvent AF/BB - AWALT, but then you have no direction. Think of it as an outline for an essay, you make starting points in a priority list and extrapolate out…
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/19 08:32 PM

It's not trauma. Relationships, specifically human ones, are complicated. Thus in order to make it easier to digest the concept of human interaction as a whole we describe groups discretely rather than a spectrum.

With the exception of children, I'd agree. Anything 20 lbs+ on a typical feminine (<~5.5 ft) frame will be noticeable. Period. It usually follows a change in lifestyle (more going out, less working out, more work hours etc). If it isn't do to children, I'd ask what the hell is up. If it's looks like it's a permanent change(disregarding traumatic issues i.e. a death in the family), then I will comment on it. If things aren't adjusted (within reason obviously), I'm gone.

Not sure. Many of the single (or recently single) professional woman I meet (and friends of my age bracket (27-33) seem very content on their career paths/projection and dating/relationship situation. The one's who want a family though, are all freaking out cause Mr. Bio clock is coming around the corner.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/19 07:47 PM

I think there's a deep seeded connection between 'gender roles' and biology. Women are the primary caretakers, because well they literally give nutrients to their offspring over a long period of early upbringing, and guess what the Man does in that situation? He's the provider and protector.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/19 06:09 PM
1

Many people will tell you to get to know a person, or be 'friends' before you're something more. I tend to disagree with that, as the sexual attraction/tension needs to be there upfront & foremost. The source of it (her personality, looks, demeanor, or whatnot) is a different discussion. I have done both strategies, but I have found it better (considering opportunity costs) to blindly go in better as a man since dating is a numbers/luck game.

I do, and I did fail to mention that. Nonetheless, giving up for adoption is always available. I'd still wager it's more of a way to wiggle out of a failing/doomed relationship and the woman has the child to try to salvage it or something of value from it or just to spite the man.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/19 11:25 PM
3

That's her point. Women don't have children because 'they don't want to'. Barring not being able to get an abortion due to health complications, the decision is ultimately up to the woman. They had the child, with full knowledge of their financial/social/familial situation and how the child would play a role. So many, myself included, find it's absurd that you have to pay for other people's children, may it be indirectly or directly.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/08/19 06:51 PM

Ehh. I wouldn't call it on obsession as it is more of an explanation (which tends to be GENERALLY applied). E.G. If I cut off my arm, I will bleed. Sure some people won't, but most will, generally speaking.

I'd say it's a fluke. Confirmation bias. Reddit is not a good representative sample, even for the sexual dynamic discussion sampling. Many come to complain about their plights or fight over 'data says this but I experience that'.

I was actually talking about this with a coworker. Photofeeler (like reddit in a way) crowd-sources your analysis. So you cannot assume/trust the analysis as much as you would say, an internal written algorithm by your senior technical staff that has been QC tested in aggregate and proven to work over a definitive time frame. So in essence, do this 1,000,000 more times more specifically. Then come back and show us the results.

Not sure where the study is, but if you take a group of boys and a group of girls and tell them to accomplish a complex task. Boys will almost self-segregate autonomously and get to work completing the various parts of the task. Girls will form a holistic group, and try to figure out who's in charge, who does what, not really accomplish anything but delegation of roles.

Correlation =/= causation. This doesn't mean most or all situations are like that especially considering the survivorship bias here, and let's not forget confirmation bias.

A lot of vitriol coming out of this post in the comments. A woman can do whatever she wants. I think many women receive support from their SOs/spouses all the time on this. Sure some men may get angry/resentful yet many (couples) do seem to break up once the woman is more career tracked/focused. It's when the husband/BF's career/drive doesn't match when it becomes a problem. However I'm not married, but a substantial career change at your age range (25-30) is perfectly fine. With the obvious cav…

For some reason, the data analytics hits close for me as well. She mentions MA, but I would have guessed an MS as almost all heavier data analytics positions gear towards technical and programming based skills. Which obviously is skewed heavily male. Anecdotally, my entire data team is male...

How much personal upkeep do you do on yourself? A decent amount. I try to keep myself clean-cut as possible (for work and otherwise). How often do you go for hair cuts, how often to do you shave? 1-3 months depending on the style and weather. I shave 2-3 days. How often do you shop and do you know how to shop? Not very often ( now that my wardrobe is set. Yes. Do you know what types of clothes fit your body? Yes. Do you actually take the time to think about what you wearing? All the time for wor…

But also most studies show that children from two parent households are statistically better off in education, life, and overall psychological well being and development. Tubleweed has a point; having children, then splitting up will traumatically affect your children regardless of how amicable the divorce.

I wouldn't. Just like that saying: "Murder will out". If I have nothing to hide, she can prod all she wants. It's the underlying insecurity, and 'out of nowhere' anxiety that would be alarming. Plus getting a full STD panel is not that difficult. I have discussed paternity tests before with potential partners beforehand, and yes I want them as a peace of mind/insurance for my well being and the relationship.

I'm not super cynical as I was maybe five years ago, still pretty red, but I understand that in order maintain an ideal relationship (one that includes children and/or marriage) you need to be at least purple for it remain sustainable (at least by Western standards). I have learned dating and relationships do become easier with time and experience. Each gender has their issues, and you play your cards as best you can. Hell some discussions on this sub have even educated me better on human social…

Just like there's a HUGE movement for women in the workplace (woman's disenfranchisement in the job sector compared to men), RP is the equivalent for men has arose for dating (men's disfranchisement in the dating world and overall in relationships - see divorce, custody, etc). This also goes well with the other post about women complaining about dating. E.g. I have overweight, even borderline medically obese coworkers (more than a handful) dating/scoring high value men (even by RP standards), an…

This is a statistic of the natural world. Some organisms just plain won't reproduce or survive. So logically speaking, 'some' are numerically destined to be alone. It's only humans that apply a moral discussion to the topic.

Was this stolen from r/askmen? lol Can we assume this is in Western societies? I wouldn't say 30 years, but maybe 50+? you will start seeing sex robots/toys becoming more mainstream or VR. Just like how online dating is pretty mainstream now. Whether or not it becomes a lasting good/bad thing remains to be seen.

I don't know where the study or book I read it from, but if you put a group of boys versus a group of girls and have them complete the same task as a group, the boys will splinter off into functional groups (almost without any instruction and work on their specific part of the task) while the girls will gather and hold a larger group to decide who does which tasks and try to delegate out the responsibility as per the collective decision. Not sure if this answers the questions completely, however…
