In western countries no. Asia and Africa, still a lot of laws related to citizenship, freedom, inheritance, justice system, right to divorce etc.

I’m in IT for the last 25 years, in Scandinavia. My experience is that expectations are quite similar when the manager knows their employees, but sometimes managers (especially middle aged men) underestimate employees (especially young women) until they get to know them. Of course US culture could be different …

I know several male nurses that work in different hospitals and institutions. One is even a midwife (is this the right word? Sorry, English is not my first language) - all of these men love their job and are happy with their colleagues. Maybe some people are just unlucky.

I think Scandinavia (where I live) might be worth a try. I think many couples here are truly equal, with mutual respect, they take exactly the same responsibilities for the economy, the family, the future, the social aspects and the intimacy. My wife takes her role as a provider and a supporter quite naturally and intuitively, just like me.
