They watch so much porn starting at really young ages that the "normal stuff" in porn no longer "does it for them." I've actually heard men say this as a defense for why it's cool that they watch r*pe porn. No actually you are sick and disgusting that the "natural progression" ends up at torture and violence.

I've seen so many comments on Reddit from abuse victims who now have BDSM "kinks." No, sweetheart. That's not empowering. You're not "taking your power back" by consenting to abuse. Thank you for your honesty.

My former coworker once described to me her sexual experience with a new guy in graphic, vivid detail. She was bragging about how sore she was. About the things he did to her that were honestly so degrading. Spitting in her mouth?!? I want to gag just thinking about it. She was all about it, going on about how hot it was. I don't get it. I'm honestly afraid to have sex with anyone new because guys just assume that's what you're into. I mean, I'm not going to be having sex with anyone unless he's…

The guy has zero opinions and no taste and just tells his girlfriend "whatever you think looks nice" and then throws a fit until he gets his "man cave" because "she gets the rest of the house waah."

It's kind of a moot point because she said her body changed after having kids, so she has multiple reasons to feel uncomfortable with it, particularly after childbirth.

This is almost making me cry. I have no boundaries. I was raised not to have them. I was raised to believe everyone else is more important than me, and I exist to serve others. I truly don't know what my boundaries should be.

Oh, absolutely. They also think that women couldn't possibly get where they are on their own merits. No, they "slept their way to the top."

YES. They don't understand the patriarchal standards behind why it's worse to insult a woman's appearance that the man's. Or, well, they probably do understand, but they ignore it because it's convenient. Girls are socialized from day 1 that they aren't attractive enough and they need to do (and buy) a plethora of things to change their bodies. We're taught that the most important thing we can be is physically attractive to a man. Intelligence, kindness, empathy, talent... those all come after. …

Tell 'em sister. I've 30 and I've never been in a real, long-term relationship, and I've been made to feel bad for that all my life. I've been told I'm "too picky" and I'll never find someone. SO WHAT? If my options are "be with someone you don't even like" or "be single and super happy with friends and pets" hmmm guess which one I'm going to pick?

This is so great. I try to apply it to myself, too. I had a friend tell me once (after I was complaining about my boss) "If anyone has to tell you they're in charge, they're not really in charge. " Let your actions speak for themselves.

I go to swing dance sometimes, and there are a bunch of guys who are just so obviously there to meet women. Honestly I'm just there to have a good time and meet people (in general and not necessarily just for dating), and I swear they smell like desperation. There was one guy in particular who was clearly interested in me, and I was polite to him. He got a girlfriend and then totally ignored me, which was nice because I could just have fun. But then they broke up and he was back to his desperati…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
