| 6 | Insight into the switchI feel men carry more of the onus of "happily ever after." It's kind of baked into society. A guy makes a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. A woman wonders if she's fulfilled and, if not, who is to blame. And that's when you get an earful about leaving jelly around the lid. I'm on the dating apps. One of the common prompts is "You can win me over by ____". And girls almost always fill in "making me laugh." I may have shell shock from my divorce. But fuck. | 1 | Said goodbye to my best friend (dog)My dogs went to my parents who live 2500 miles away. So, in any practical sense, they're gone. They spent their last day in my city playing fetch in the water. It was raining. The dogs and I were soaked to the bone. We had miles of beach all to ourselves. And it's a good memory. I drove them across the nation after that. Three day trip. They did great in the car. Flying them was too difficult. And I sure as hell wasn't going to send them with a carrier.
