Yeah that is definitely your personal experience. But people are trying to build a logical argument on anecdotal evidence. I don't want to bash on it but I do want people to not jump off the logic train into crazy ville and use these anecdotes as real facts for this craziness. There is a lot of shit out there we don't need to make up more of it.

But you are making a statement that doesn't stem beyond your own experience and understanding. Not one that takes in others experience. I want to see the whole picture where you have only given me that tiny tree in the back (may or may not have been drawn by Bob Ross) We have to be careful of these statements less we go completely off the freakin rails but maybe this is the wrong thread for this logic.

But no one except Rizzpooch asked these questions. There is also a difference between knowing these fields exist and being encouraged to pursue it. As for student advisory: You are also putting all the blame on the student without examining the situation as a whole. When presenting an argument there is the whole concept to present not just a selected chunk. This argument also is considered more anecdotal than objective.

I was thinking the same thing. Not saying that people haven't said these things but this seems a little out there. I'm not sure why people are saying Amen. But then again maybe people are not critically looking at this at all.
