Well that's what feminists get for suing the shit out of men's organizations for decades while screaming about equality. Eventually, equality means equality and not just women getting stuff. Life's a bitch that way.

Body shaming is fine in general. Peer pressure is a powerful force. There is nothing wrong with encouraging others to make healthier choices. You're impending coronary does not care about your feelings, and neither do I.

Good fucking luck with that response. Sounds like a great way to get screamed at.

I stop taking anyone seriously that uses that word honestly. All it tells me is that you're going to throw a tantrum if I disagree with you, explain my point of view, or otherwise provide any information in a conversation that you're not already aware of.

It did until equal rights actually happened. Now its more about making it illegal for men to annoy or slightly inconvenience women in any way.

Gotta love that. "Woman that proposes genocide isn't taken seriously as a person because she wants to kill people. But aside from that, we think this gal is great."

Um...yeah, I would bitch if my child was taken away from me by my ex- and then I was forced to live away from my child and drive a distance to go visit them instead of living with them too. Wouldn't you? You hate men because they don't want to have to drive to see their own kids? Or perhaps because a man didn't want to have a kid and two consenting adults had sex but only one of them got to make the decision about how both of them now get to be parents even though one partner doesn't consent to …

Yeah. I can't take anyone seriously that says they're a feminist and throws that little tantrum about how it isn't about hating men. Its a shame honestly, the movement started for a good reason. Women needed to gain the vote. They needed equal rights. But now that they have it, modern feminism is all about criminalizing anything that women find even slightly annoying. A woman lost an election to her male competitor? Must be sexism and couldn't at all be attributed to more people that agree with …

So let me get this straight. You think that you don't have a right that you have that's written in law. You think men have the right "not to be a parent" but the law almost always forces men to pay for pregnancies they don't wish for...and WE'RE the ones that don't care about equality? And to boot, for pointing out that you do actually have the right to get an abortion that you claim you don't have under the law, I don't care about equality...hmm, ok. On top of that, because of my gender you don…

I completely disagree with the state governments that are attempting to limit abortion rights. In fact, I grabbed a sign and went and picketed the state capital when the courts agreed to see this newest challenge to Roe v. Wade. I'm a man so frankly whenever anyone says this is men's fault, I have to role my eyes. This isn't men's fault, it's Republican's fault. There are a lot of women that vote Republican, too. There are a lot of women that want to limit abortion of "moral" or religious ground…

Um...abortion is legal in all 50 states. Even the shit conservative states where THE PEOPLE (including women voters...y'all are 51% of the population so there's no excuse to blame men in power for the laws you elected into place) have elected leaders that have limited those rights. Men on the other hand have 0 say in whether or not a pregnancy goes to term. A man doesn't want to be a father? Tough shit, you're paying child support for the rest of your life. Both men and women had the sex, but on…

It has nearly disappeared since the 40s and continues to decrease. we don't need to do shit to correct the wage gap but keep in mind that there is a small wage gap that is worth correcting and keeping our eye on the ball while society progresses to resolve that problem, almost certainly within the current working generations lifetime. So like... Why the fucking hysteria, right?
/r/MensRights27/02/20 05:24 AM

No, it isn't the same net effect, because the long-term effects of cortisol related to perceived descrimination cause contribute to death in populations that perceive themselves as being descrinated against by literally years of real human lives. This is a well-documented phenomenon, especially in African-American women. As a medical student you should know that and if you don't then you are not meeting your obligations as a health care practitioner. You go ahead and call hearing that that an in…

Yeah you're right. I wouldn't mind if we found a way to close that 2%. I think that it is a goal worth calmly working towards because I don't think anyone rational believes that there should be a gap. The gap is just being portrayed as WAY more massive than it actually is and if we aren't being honest with what's going on then we won't fix it. I don't think it helps anyone to portray it as descrimination unless we actually know that's what it is...but we don't. That 2% is actually just unexplain…

It sure can get confusing at times huh? I am trying to keep all of my remarks very data oriented, and only going into grouchy land when someone starts using the word misogynist, sexist, or refusing to believe the data that is clearly right in front of them, whether it is intentional or just due to a lack of understanding of statistics. I admit I can get a little grouchy, especially when people start tossing around names like that. It has just become such a common thing to say to anyone that even…

Damn, you really, really don't get this concept. Her wages don't go down, they just don't go up as quickly as his because she's not at work as often. Just totally blown away. Find that statistician. Beg on hands and knees for help with the concept of compounding gains and statistical removal of extreneous variables. Perpetrating a myth that women are being kept down isn't healthy for women's health and it isn't healthy for men. studies have shown that people that perceive themselves as being dis…

Yeah I agree. Men tend to put in a lot of hours at work after a child is born whereas a woman tends to spend less. It makes sense for the man to ask for a promotion because he's about to be there a whole ton. The woman doesn't take a paycut, her wages just don't rise at the same rate and over time that adds up. Even after women return to work they still have a young child taking up their time and resources for the next 18 years minimum. Of course that affects ability to work. That's just a biolo…

Honestly I am still trying to figure out what you think is a joke. Maybe you could quote it to me? Buddy came in calling me all sorts of flavors of sexist for believing the statistic on an article linked on the wiki page about this topic that says that the wage gap disappears after you correct for maternity leave and time spent out of work raising kids/lost opportunities for promotion and next thing I know I'm being told I admitted that I'm a troll. Actually dude just took a bunch of comments out of context and posted them here. He just kept putting words in my mouth and then announced to me that I told him I was trolling and started going around posting all over that I said I was a troll. Dude needs a hobby. Or maybe an antispychotic. Got to the point that he/she wasn't making any sense and started denying we were talking about a wage gap. Got really confusing trying to understand dude thought we were talking about.

No, you're making the assumption that it is the woman being punished. Many women view the early years of a pregnancy to be one of the most fulfilling parts of their lives. If I had the option to stay home with my newborn I would, but you know perfectly well the amount of postpartal changes women undergo for months after that period. If I had the option to stay at home and have my partner go to work I would hop on that offer immediately actually. I have Tourettes Syndrome with motor tics primaril…

Alright dude I'm not going to try to explain to you again why the 80% statistic is measuring attitudes about pregnancy and not attitudes about gender/sex. If you really can't understand that, I can't help you. You should talk to a statistician wherever you go to medical school because you're just not understanding. The 80% statistic has not accounted for the amount of variability accounted for by pregnancy. Sex is an inherent trait so judging wage against it is descrimination. Pregnancy is a cho…

Dude you are literally arguing the wage gap with me right now lmfao. And you are doing it with literally no evidence to back up anything you're saying. Like I said, can't even keep track of your own end of the conversation. All that one has to do to see that you are arguing the wage gap is click on your profile and see your comments. But I have noticed that data doesn't seem to really matter to you so I'm not surprised.
/r/MensRights27/02/20 12:51 AM

Yeah you're right, you did not present any data. I care about what the data has to say about the wage gap, not the crap that you are spewing without any evidence. That's because data reflects reality, and your your opinion just reflects the fact that you dont know the data. How many times are you going to make my point for me before you move on with your life?

Cool if you need to win an argument by making an issue of when someone last got laid as if it affects the topic of discussion in any then I suppose carry on. Your big trump card is telling someone that got laid last week that they didn't get laid last week? Are you like 17 or something? Over here laughing at you. Have a nice life. I've got serious people to talk to with serious things to discuss.

1) Well you're taking issue with a published research study and until you can conduct a study with different results, what you take issue with is not what matters in science. The data and the evidence is what matters in science. Here's an article about it, and the blurb associated with it on wiki. "Economist June O'Neill, former director of the Congressional Budget Office, found an unexplained pay gap of 8% after controlling for experience, education, and number of years on the job. No but how much you like money doesn't determine how much work you do. I like money but that doesn't mean that if I don't show up to work for months that my boss should keep paying me anyway. Statistics show (you can refer to the sources I listed for you) that women who are not pregnant either make more than men (in their 20s) or 2 percent less than them over the course of their lives. These older age groups of course do not yet include millenial women, who are much more poficient in self advoca…

Oh yeah, I should also point out that a lot of this information that I learned about the so called gender gap i learned in nursing school from a female midwife nurse practitioner that has been working neonatal care for 30 years. I've researched it since and she was right. It's not due to descrimination. It's due to choice.

Cool, your medical student, I'm a nurse practitioner student. I'm sure that I've been a nurse a lot longer than you've been a student. obviously you haven't been a medical student for very long or you would already know the history of gender rating. Lol you want to tell a nurse how healthcare works you should do your homework first. Healthcare for women cost hundreds of thousands of dollars more for women than for men. For most of the course of American history, women paid higher premiums. Only recently with the passage of the Affordable Care Act was this made illegal, and this was accomplished by subsidizing the cost of women's health care programs with tax dollars. We all pay more for women's health in order to keep those premiums equal, …

Show me the stats on that from a real source. If you make 1000 dollars in a paycheck and make 2% less you're making 20 dollars less over a week. Meanwhile your employer is paying hundreds extra for your insurance as a woman because the costs of pregnancy care drives up premiums because delivering a baby costs money. If you're unhappy making 29 bucks less than a guy at work and you have proof he's making more, go ask for a raise like an adult or negotiate a higher wage with a new employer. That's…

Absolutely! I have no problem with the idea of women staying home as new mother's or because they're dick or disabled. Women are the ones that want to work. If i could get a job thai paid high enough to support my wife if that's what she wanted me to do then I'd be glad to! Women have better support groups, live longer, have a much lower suicide rate, and experience a lower rate of depression. Yeah that's the fair way to do it. Otherwise when women come back to work if their manager thinks they're a shit employee that manager is going to get sued for using an arbitrary measure to assign a woman pay that may be higher or lower than a man's. Even if it is higher than other men at the office, all it takes is one woman getting pissed that she's making less than one man who may or may not have other qualifications or have negotiated better for himself and it's a lawsuit. No. A person with 2 years vs 3 years of experience has many, many more hours of training and experience. When it comes down to it, not all jobs pay the same. People do sports for millions and teach for practically nothing. That's just a fact of life, supply and demand. I'm a nurse, I'm about to go back to grad school to become a nurse practitioner and I'm going to be making in the low mid six figures. In a female dominated career. I am a nurse. I definitely get a lot of hostility just for being male from other nurses and from patients. Of course, no one gives a fuck though. Uh yeah...riiiiiight.

Cool well you just keep on calling people names and misrepresenting statistics but don't be surprised when people talk to you like you sound simple. Comparing pregnant women to single men is not the relevant comparison because there is no similar process in men. Of course not. I don't think men should get a raise for choosing to get fucked either. I don't support special treatment of people that have children. Well as it turns out, not all men have the same opinion as all other men. Just like not all women share the same opinion. If you expect that we are all going to respond to the things that you have to say the same way, you really need to realize that clumping large numbers of people into a group and then making generalizations about them does not always accurately predict reality.

Yeah... Except that when you remove pregnancy leave from the equation and compare men and women in the same job, they make almost exactly the same amount of money. Yeah you wouldn't want men being concerned with the way that scientific research about our gender is being misrepresented by people that regularly tell us we are awful because of our genitles. Guess we have the wrong genitles to have a right to be concerned with issues relevant to the way that half of the population of the planet treats us. Yup we all sure need help. We need the help of a statistician apparently since you can't seem to math.

I'm sorry am I supposed to feel bad I assumed you're female? If you're a guy then switch out the pronoun and stop playing the victim. It's not an unreasonable assumotion here so stop trying to distract with the issue by making throwing in irrelevancies. Women aren't paid significantly less than men compared to men in the same job. Less than two cents and that number is shrinking every decade. It is the fault of any person regardless of gender if they select a job that doesn't pay well so yeah if…

Yeah let's talk about today, where hundreds of laws protect women's rights in the workplace and the same laws don't protect men. Woman are equally represented in the workforce and statistics show the wage gap is almost non-existent if you subtract out pregnancy and women's choice of careers. We aren't blaming you for your career choices because you're making as much in those careers as most men. Sorry, you're not special. If you want a raise ask for one or get a higher paying job. That's what i …

We have an answer to that question. It's because for years and years women were not expected to work and when they entered the workforce in larger numbers men were still considered bread winners. Many were happy with that arrangement, and I know this because I work with elderly people and I've asked for opinions. Women took pride in their job as housewife like many still do. Society changed as more and more women wanted to work but change takes time and opinions take time to change. Plus women e…

Yeah, we present facts, statistics and research studies here. Some people here are upset at treleatment they've received from or because of women. If you came here expecting something else then feel free to let your mouse take you elsewhere.

Of course not because now her argument doesn't work because you've presented the actual data and math. Can't call math sexist so it's not up for discussion anymore.

I think it's cute how you found one of the only quotes on that page that doesn't include statistical analysis of what is attributable to that difference. Read on - multiple studies listed on that page state that difference is mostly because of choices women make to leave work to have children or because women chose jobs as support personnel.

They aren't women's jobs anymore. Men work those jobs and the pay hadn't moved much. Likewise women are free to go into traditionally male jobs but as you can see from these stats that's not what women are choosing to do and that's a function of their own adult ability to make independent choices.

Because they have a lot less education. Nurse practitioners make 6 figures, that's a traditionally female job. And traditionally female jobs paid less because they were traditionally jobs for people that had a partner that was making bank because society, including women, expected to have their expenses paid by their husband. Anger at unfair treatment and disagreement with your views is not mysogeny. Men are allowed to express frustration with women. Women express frustration with men all the ti…

No, not everyone that disagrees that women are downtrodden and victims is a misogynist. If you take time off work, you make less money. There are some unkind people in here yes, but if i were to go post in TwoXChromosomes disagreeing with some of the feminist stuff there I assure you that I would receive an absolutely viscious response. You're in a place where men are free to discuss the frustrations we experience and can't talk about every day because the very idea that men aren't working to ke…

I was a janitor and now I'm a nurse. I've seen many women's restrooms. They're about the same as men's room on the whole. Sometimes cleaner, sometimes not.

Dude I want them to have free birth control. Insurance is a good thing. The tampons no, not until I get monthly free TP.

It only works if you pick and choose bits of history to suit your own argument without taking larger historical context into consideration. That's how.

Men were literally property at one point. There are a lot of black men that could tell you all about that. There are a lot of native American men that could tell you all about that. That is not an experience exclusive to women. The world used to be a much different place, and today women are fully integrated into the workforce. Men are roughly 50% of the population, I think it is a bit of an understatement to say that men helped as if to imply that a couple of dudes may have been involved on the…

I think it's safe to say that's not true. There are plenty notable examples of companies run by women or primarily by women, and even governments that are headed by women that are as successful as a male workplace. I think you're moving past discussion of men's rights into just being nasty.

Didn't know the 20 to 30 stat, do you have a source? If the wage gap is actively and visibly shrinking in younger generations and that trend continues to move upward in age categories as we age that would be really strong support of this argument and I want it.

Yup. My understanding is that the wage gap is almost non existent when comparing unmarried single women to men. If you want kids then that's great but of course missing out on months of work will delay promotions and decrease your pay. If you want to go have kids then all the power to you. If you want to work, all the power to you. If you do both, same story, but every moment you spend on something other than work is missed pay. It doesn't make sense to me to look at that decrease in pay, compar…

This article doesn't mention it but it seems to me that given that women have only been in the workplace for a generation or two in Western society and that hundreds of laws to protect women at work that don't protect men have since been put in place, and that the pay gap has decreased steadily since women entered the workplace (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_pay_gap_in_the_United_States#Explaining_the_gender_pay_gap) and many of the people that make decisions about hiring and wages are …

Guys aren't allowed to speak out when injustices occur against us or other men because women in many parts of the US view the notion that anything bad could happen to a man as an absurdity. If you support mens rights you must hate women. If you don't believe that women are inherently more trustworthy than men then you hate women. If you don't believe that mens sexuality is every bit as beautiful anything as women's sexuality then you're a creeper or maybe even a rapist. It's totally acceptable f…
