That's true, and technique is what I'm referring to when I say best and worst. Technique matters, but really only for men to men and women to women. Something like BJJ would probably be a little bit more even competitively between the sexes, but Muay Thai, JKD, Taekwondo, and boxing definitely aren't.

I remember one of my professors talking about muscle difference, with the exact same muscle mass between them a man can still put out something like 50% more force simply because of testosterone. Iirc it might be closer to 30% but it's still crazy just how big of a difference a single change like an increase in testosterone can make.

One other thing too to add on to this. Check what belt systems they use, like not just whether or not they're a bit too liberal with handing them out but also if the recipients just directly pay. Personally I'm a black belt in Aikido and have practiced Muay Thai for years, but significantly more proficient in Muay Thai as my masters for Aikido used a two belt system.
