I think she invited herself over to his place for a swim. So, she's going over there.

If I can do it, I'm sure you can as well! Enjoy your 30's, there were the best of my life. You should have no problem finding someone to settle down with in your 40's. I think the main concern would be starting so late. I do not regret waiting until I was in my 40s to start a family, but that could just be me...

I don't know if I was really "successful" in my 30's, but I did have some success (much more than in my 20s and teens). I dated mostly younger women and it certainly seemed easier which I think stemmed from my increased confidence. If you are interested, I would say that my confidence increased with my financial stability. I would say that I made up somewhat for being lonely in my 20's. Not as much as I would have liked, but I did stay single into my 40's.

Agree 100%. I don't have anything else to add but you hit the nail on the head.

Talk to everyone. If they give you shit, fuck em. If they are cool, welcome them into your world. And most of them will be cool.

you can't just mindfuck yourself/rationalize into suddenly not putting women on a pedestal. You learn to not put women on a pedestal by going out and take action. This.

I'd probably respond with: "I also have small feet and drive a Porsche." But, I have no idea if that would work. The "tits look big" sounds like a good one to me, unless she obviously has large breasts.

Unfortunately I have "resting sketchy face". (I kid, I kid)

Good answer! And keep up the posts - I enjoy reading them and others obviously do as well.

Nice. I appreciate the response - always good to see how shit tests are handled.

Thanks for posting the FR - I always enjoy reading these whether the OP does well or not. You obviously had a good night. What were some of her shit-tests and how did you diffuse them?

Looking back, I screwed up A LOT of ways, but probably no more than this one. When I was younger I used to think that if I touched someone it would come off as creepy. Even, like you mention, touching their arm in conversation. How wrong I was! If only I could turn the clock back 20 years.

AA only goes away temporarily Well, that sucks! I hate AA. Ugh.

without putting any pressure on myself to pick up girls I think this is key. Good advice.

Girls, guys, bartenders, bouncers, it doesn't matter. I try to talk to as many people as I can in a night and just be interesting and entertaining. I like the sound of this. Gets you out socially... I was always the opposite, too shy to do this and I suffered because of it.

Oh yeah, I know. Unfortunately, I wasn't.

Most. Awkward. kiss. ever. Back in the day, awkward kiss would have been just fine.

I like this because it's easy to remember. Sounds like it would work too.

Honestly, I would have been petrified if they made me switch to another partner. At least my girlfriend knew what she was getting into...

TIL: You don't need a partner. I just assumed that if you wanted to learn a dance (like swing/tango/etc.) you needed to bring a partner to a class. Though it does make sense that classes for singles are available where you change partners. The class we happened to take was all couples and there wasn't any changing of partners.

I don't think anyone was judging me, but I was definitely holding the class up. So any embarrassment I felt was self-inflicted, so to speak.

Doesn't dance usually require a partner? So you really can't take a dance class by yourself. I took a swing class with my girlfriend once. I was so bad at it she was we were too embarrassed to go back.

Good read! I would hesitate to call any of these "failures" since you obviously learned from it. Keep posting, I am interested in hearing about your progress and good luck out there!

having your hands out on your sides will appear natural. But it sure doesn't feel natural. This is what I try to do but I either end up with arms crossed or hands in pockets.

I think one of the turn-offs of dance for me is the music. You really need to like the music you are dancing to. It is the biggest reason I avoided clubs (and went to bars instead) all these years.

5' 5" and I've never had any game. But I don't think my height had anything to do with it (it was all a lack of confidence). It's too bad reddit wasn't around when I was in my "prime" - I may have had some success.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
