I like that explanation and I can't argue that its not true for yourself however I am friends with girls who would disagree. Maybe they aren't being honest with themselves maybe they aren't being honest with me. I'd say its most likely an age thing they will become intimate with a guy due to physical attraction up till a certain age then as they gain a little more perspective the mindset becomes a little more like yours.
