I could definitely be better with this. I have the urge to have my hand in every pot, but that is also what is pulling me in every direction. I could hire some more staff to be a little less needed at the office. But, I also want to keep making this level of profit that it’s hard to commit to more payroll. I don’t know, feels like there’s no perfect answer-but expanding my staff is probably the best one.

I totally agree-we’ve already put in so much sweat equity that I don’t want to give it up as we’re now starting to see some serious payout and it has the opportunity to grow further. He did work for the business when we first opened, but as I didn’t have health insurance and it was slow moving (we opened early 2020)-we thought it was a safer bet for him to have a separate stable job. Which he found and has already had one big promotion. It’s hard to say because…I don’t want to outsource any piec…

I knew someone here would give me advice from an angle that I couldn’t see myself. Thank you so much. I’m definitely gonna think on this and approach it with him once I have some clearer thoughts and perspective.

I enjoyed my job and felt really blessed to be able to provide as I have financially, but now taking on the very important role of mom has just totally flipped my life upside down that I now feel so much pressure with it. I think if I’m going to approach this in a conversation with him, I need to really have some solid solutions. I can and would happily go back to work in a different industry once our daughter (and hopefully future additional babies) are older and in school. (I have always dream…

Many males already have part of their penis chopped off without their consent, you want to add mandatory fertility surgery on top of that? What happened to “my body, my choice” or does that only apply to us females?

The child is a separate being from the mother and does not meet the qualifications to be considered a “parasite”. If someone wants to argue that the life or just general happiness of the mother trumps the life of the separate being (her child), fine-but to argue that the child is a parasite is nonsensical. I only referenced the word fair because that was OPs argument. If we took abortion completely out of the discussion, the mother still has the right to give up her financial obligations to the …

It took 2 people to create the child, it should take 2 people to kill it. Fair is fair. You could have used protection. So I as a woman can make the exclusive decision to terminate the life of mine and another persons child, but they as a man have no voice in financially supporting said child if I choose to let the child live? How is that “fair”? It took two people to create the child so unless you want the male contributor to have equal say in the abortion decision as well, I don’t understand t…

I can say with certainty that my husband wanted kids and definitely not because of legacy. For him it was much more of a logical decision whereas with me it was a much more emotionally driven choice. “I am ready to be a mom” vs “we ready to take on the financial and physical responsibilities of being parents.” He was the one really lining up the timing and logistics of us starting our journey to parenthood whereas I handled the kind of biological side of timing/tracking when he gave me the go ah…

It sounds like your life and marriage is lined up as well as possible to welcome a child. Trust me, I know there are fears and can be some anxious thoughts as it is such a large change both for you as an individual but also for your marriage and lifestyle. And unfortunately those don’t go away, they just change with time. But, trust me it just all clicks when you see those two lines. We got to see our daughter on ultrasound today and truly nothing has ever compared in my life. 🤍

I’m 31 and just now pregnant with our first child. I also met my husband at 24 and if I could go back and redo it, I’d have children much earlier. The stress over fertility and just simply the energy level of 24 vs 31 is night and day. If you are financially capable, married and already have that motherly instinct-I’d strongly consider trying sooner rather than later. Maybe examine some of the fears that are holding you back and expand on those. I can imagine that they will be the same fears you…

Find a cookbook and just start trying out recipes-cooking is SO much easier than baking as it is far from an exact science. You tweak it until you like it. You’ll burn things along the way, but that’s to be expected. If you enjoy science and want to get more methodical with it, check out Salt Fat Acid Heat-it makes cooking much more mathematical and really teaches you the basics. (I’m more of a tweak, taste repeat kind of gal, but there’s another option for you.)

I agree that both genders have been lied to that grind=purpose and I’m not saying that men don’t find fulfillment from relationships/family. I’m also not saying that the men don’t get the short end of the stick with the traditional set up (I wouldn’t want to go work in the coal mine all day either). It is an incredible privilege to be able to stay at home and raise children. But, of the options available, if the family has the means for one parent to stay at home with the children, generally spe…

He’s saying the true fulfilling joy of life doesn’t come from slaving away in the workplace which is exactly what we were sold with getting our college degree. Career was purpose-what do you want to be when you grow up, what’s your major, where are you going to school etc.? True joy and fulfillment comes from relationships, not work. Family, not clocking in and clocking out. Even if you are intentionally childfree, I’d imagine your best memories and moments where you have felt most fulfilled and…

If I had been sitting in the audience at 22 and heard him say “many of you are most excited about your (future) marriage and the children you will bring into this world”-he’d have been talking directly to me. I am a college educated, business owning, married, pregnant woman, I had to make a choice between family and career and it was a choice that was very easy for me to make. My business was my baby until I got pregnant and now I am happily closing that chapter so that I can move on to the one …

I think maybe as low as 22. 18/19/20, I’d feel probably a bit more concerned than just generally curious or weirded out. Really depends on the person and their maturity. But, I personally wouldn’t view someone in their 20s dating someone in their 40s as an automatic victim.

When I first heard the question I imagined myself placed in the middle of the woods staring at a randomly plucked bear or staring at a randomly plucked man. In that simple version of the original hypothetical question I am choosing the man. Once you start adding all these details to the question you take away the root of it. It doesn’t matter “how big the woods are” or “how hungry the bear is” or “what weapons you have” or all these other qualifications people add. Are you (general you) more sca…

(I would never date any of these people in real life, but will rank as a complete hypothetical) 1) Choice 2- biggest turn off being previously seeing escorts. I would be perfectly happy being a SAHM with land and more off-the-grid lifestyle. So as long as he can remain loyal to me-I’d entertain dating him. 2) Choice 3- I just wouldn’t have romantic or sexual feelings towards this man. I’m not into anime or comics, I wouldn’t be interested in his interests and I just do not think we would jive. W…

I would assume a woman wrote this. I would assume so as it sounds very similar to many comments and posts I see on the AskWomen subs I am on. At least from those I know, females are more inclined to talk openly about their current satisfaction with being single (regardless of their actual personal satisfaction)-which makes “I’m perfectly happy being single…” point in that direction for me. Females that I know are also more inclined to view their own success as an intimidating factor and a specif…

Exactly! Even if I knew stranger man had bad intentions-I think I’d still choose him over the bear.

That’s what I would assume as well. I’m going to have to find the origin post of this question-would love to read the responses of those who legitimately tried to argue choosing the bear.

I’ll take the man for $2000 Alex. I just do not understand why I would feel inclined to choose a bear in any version of this question. (I couldn’t care less how attractive the random stranger man is.) I’d rather not be hunted or killed and odds are much higher that the bear will want to do so more than the random man.

Clearly something is getting lost in translation, you’ve got that right. Since this is the only sub you seem to participate in, go participate in it on another thread because we’re done here. ✌🏻

Google it, I’m not pulling facts out of my bum. I never spoke to you disrespectfully. You insinuated that I’m an idiot because I told you your weird quote symbols make your comments difficult to read. You degraded my intelligence because you do not have an argument to stand on. And because of that there is no point in continuing this conversation. Have a good night.

So because your ears haven’t heard it means it’s not true? Got it. We’re definitely not going to be accomplishing anything further. I also won’t engage with someone who speaks to me like that so we’re done here.

You’re making zero sense I’m sorry, I have no idea what your argument is. I know what these numbers mean, you’re talking in circles and not contributing anything productive. When did I argue that the divorce rate was due to cheating/dv alone now or in the 50s? Oh wait, I didn’t. I don’t understand your last statement at all so I’m just going to skip over that. Use normal quotes not these weird down low ones, it’s very difficult to read.

70% of divorces are initiated by women, if you want to argue with that fact you’ll need to direct that to statisticians that studied it. I’m not interested in all the relationship arguments that led up to the filing and I never said “who was the reason”-I stated a fact that is a fact regardless of how you feel about it. I never stated how I feel. I stated that DV/infidelity are commonly the rebuttal I hear to the fact stated above. Many women generally believe that the reason behind the 70% fact…

I only referenced one stat which is factual. Everything else was my opinion and perspective. But, regardless infidelity is the 2nd leading cause for divorce at 34% and DV is 12th on the list at 3%. So I’m not sure which of my opinions you felt was off base. https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/divorce/common-causes-divorce/

I honestly don’t know about the DV stats, I’ve never looked into it but that might be an interesting study. It is a fact and a crazy one at that that 70%+ of divorces are initiated by women. Many women would rebuttal that it is because women no longer “put up with bs”. That the things that women put up with in the 50s like infidelity and DV are things that “any good woman would walk away from today.” I’m not saying this isn’t a part of the case, but I think it guards the ego to say this when I w…

Communication as it is commonly advised today is much more focused on being heard than listening. Unfortunate, but true. And if one comes to the table of disagreement with their primary objective being to be heard and not listening, understanding, sacrificing and compromising-the relationship will hit a dead end very quickly.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 09:49 PM

I agree with that as well. Where I was coming from is that it seems communication is recommended primarily from a first person narrative (“did you communicate your feelings?”) instead of advising actual dialogue which includes listening and compromising-at least for relationships to move forward.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/03/24 01:28 PM

Communication will not solve every issue in a relationship. Many issues in a relationship can only be solved with sacrifice and compromise, not endlessly lamenting about your feelings to your SO.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
