I think it's a major stereotype. Most women I know who chose not to have kids have husbands, are aunties who help care for nieces/nephews, and help in their community. When people are single, they have to do a lot more work, pay a lot more for housing, do more housework, and don't have someone to hug/cuddle/give physical affection to.
