The losers here whining that you must get laid only because you're tall, dark, handsome, shit gold bricks etc. are missing this critical bit: you know how to communicate yourself to women as an overtly and unapologetically sexual man. Most unsuccessful guys have no idea what that even entails from a woman's perspective (others think it's sending unsolicited dick pics).

Are you fucking kidding? The guy is 5'6", Asian, barely any muscle on him, barely lean. He's told you exactly how he uses a good photo and smart online game into near-effortlessly fucking an endless stream of women, and you're chalking it up to his intrinsics? GTFO.

For getting grinds and makeouts on an infinitely loud dance floor, you might be right. Other than that, there is game, the Great Equalizer. Game can let a short fat balding man steal a runway model during a date with Adonis himself. But there's no way you will believe that until you see it with your own eyes, and obviously you haven't, so I'm not going to argue with you. Until then, maybe you would appreciate that your is quite a self-limiting belief, in that even if it were the objective truth,…

I eat myself every single day for forgiving her. Take the lesson and move on. If you truly are not that person anymore, don't beat yourself up for it any more than you should for shitting yourself as a baby.

That would put you above most gym rats for sure, but for perspective, those are very modest goals for anyone training for strength. There are plenty of drug-free women outlifting that in judged competition.

I've come to know female strength athletes in the upper weight classes all the way to SHW, and most are pretty cool and well-adjusted people. Sure I wouldn't fuck them with someone else's dick, but I understand it's not their first priority in life to make themselves attractive to me. They are essentially the female version of the self-aware nerd who's decided he enjoys his life of nerdly endeavors more than trying to bang sorority sisters. I don't have any problem with that. Of course then ther…

I can't fault the coach for advising not to cut for your first meet though. Hindsight is 20/20. It's like regretting that your 3rd attempt was too easy. You did the sane thing to do at that time, so I wouldn't worry a thing about it. This is a long-term sport. How much were you looking to pull at 148?

Thanks bud, I was speaking in jest. I solved my problems a long time ago. It actually forced me to really dial in my game, until I had all the top-shelf pussy I wanted. I'm not blaming anything, I was dealt a really great hand in life. As for going from comfort to sex, I know it's a challenge to fix because you get many fewer opportunities to practice compared to the earlier stages. I'd say, increase physical contact from the very start, and definitely kiss pre-comfort. The rest is just logistic…

The real question is, what is valuable to you? It's a problem when you find yourself chasing a target not of your own, but one that was sold to you. Because there will be no real fulfillment when you reach it, and somewhere deep down you've known it all along. Unfortunately people often find that hard to admit to themselves, status quo and sunk cost and all. Do you really want to make lots of money? Do you really want to sleep with lots of women? Do you really want to be jacked and lean? Or are …

Oh that must be nice. I went from pot belly to beach body, but still no girl ever approached me or even smiled at me, and I still had to scrape and hustle for every last one I took home. It's hard work being a manlet.

Likewise. I spend winters bulking and powerlifting, and summers with a tanned sixpack. Night and day. It sucks a bit, because I'd rather not have to schedule my macrocycles to the season, but at least it's good motivation for dieting down.

You hit the nail on the head. Also, lowering one's standards, as it were, is not necessarily settling for less. Guys who fuck the hottest girls fuck a lot of girls, including less hot ones. There's fun to be had and experience to be gained. It's always the insecure beta who has "really high standards" because his ego has so much riding on each one. He won't play the game until the pot is large because he can't afford the ante. It's the mentality of scarcity on full display.

I have zero interest in hookups and short term stuff. You will regret this deeply. As a man, the single most important thing you can do at this point in your life, for your own long-term happiness and the longevity of your future relationships, is to invest in yourself by gaining experience. And that involves exposing yourself to all stages of a relationship sufficiently many times, which include a) meeting and attracting someone, b) initial exploration (hookup/dates/sex), c) developing a relati…

People who complain about how difficult it is to eat food don't deserve any sort of gains in my book. People who are "picky eaters" have also chosen other childish priorities over gains. Boo hoo hoo. If you want your body to grow, you have to PUT THE FUCKING FOOD IN YOUR FUCKING FACE AND SWALLOW IT. Also, if your "lifting is easy as hell" I don't know what you're doing in the gym 'cause you sure aren't training. It's supposed to be hard, occasionally really hard.

Oh boy. If you're able to add 10 lbs/week to anything, you can stop worrying about most of what I said, because you're so new that pretty much anything you do is going to work wonders. Sure, do that, why not. But focus on good form.

Definitely keep doing what you're doing as long as it's working to your satisfaction. If keto has been working for you, great! Then you must be getting the basics right. Is it the best diet? I don't think so, you could train harder with carbs. Should you stop? Hell no. Why risk derailing yourself for a potential tiny benefit? Same with SS. You clearly enjoy it, and it will work for you pretty well. Is it the best program for muscle building/preservation? No, but you'll get pretty decent results …

Yup. His PhD supervisor was Dr. Stone, the author of the textbook I linked at the top. I've met him briefly, he's brilliant, and jacked as fuck, could have done some damage had he stayed in research. But what does he know, apparently it was all bro science anyway :) Seriously now I feel stupid having typed out all this stuff on here, like I just explained banana farming to a cage full of monkeys and all I got was shit in my face. Oh well, should have known better.

SRA curves for heavy overhead pressing and hamstrings (like DLs) are a lot longer than you say. Yeah, I simplified because the average noob here won't be OHPing body weight or pull 4+ plates anytime soon (and probably doesn't need to to look better). So I assumed lighter pressing, leg curls etc. Yes, I've read Bompa's book. Zatsiorsky, Bompa, Stone... They all say the same things. I didn't come up with any of this myself. But what do we you know, apparently it was all bro science! :D Thanks, Dr.…

You could literally pick up any recent sports science textbook, but okay. Off the top of my head: Krieger, J. W. (2010). Everything I wrote was specifically simplified for hypertrophy, because I assumed the average TRP guy is more interested in looking good than being invisibly strong (team DYEL biceps checking in). It would look very different for general strength or peaking for powerlifting. On that note, I don't see how mixing hypertrophy and strength ranges is beneficial for physique goals. You could squat/bench 4-6 reps during a bulk/cut, but it would beat you up more and rob you out more volume you could hav…

Training volume isn't as significant as training intensity. Uhh... I promise you'll have a tough time citing literature for that. In fact, I'd bet my PhD on it. You don't (and shouldn't) be exercising the same muscle group 3-4x a week. Please look up Stimulus-Recovery-Adapation (SRA) curves in any exercise science reference. Also, Olympic weightlifters would like a word with you.

Volume can be adjusted to what your body can handle. This is huge. Everyone knows they need to adjust a program's weights to their max, but few know to also adjust the volume (sets). If you're always doing fewer sets than you can recover from by the next workout, you're leaving progress on the table. It works pretty well to periodize in 4-5 week mesocycles where you start easy and gradually add sets until you're clearly overreaching, then take a half-volume deload* week before starting again. (*…

Yes! Thank you! I'm all for teaching people the basic barbell lifts, but so many people are on these programs until they get hurt, when all they wanted was to get big and lean. PSA: Strength-oriented programs are suboptimal for building new muscle, or retaining muscle during a cut, because they favor intensity (heavy weight) over volume (total weight x reps x sets done), and pose a higher risk of injury.

That does happen at some point, but hard to say 10% for everyone, especially as BF measurement methods are inaccurate as hell (albeit fairly self-consistent for relative changes). The same guy might measure 8% on skinfold, 9% on BodPod and 11% on DEXA. Also, people do occasionally go way under that threshold knowingly, for competition, photo shoots, etc.

This is absolutely correct, and very well-established. Listen to this. 18-month bulks are for Dreamers. Keep it around 3-month phases of bulking or cutting, ideally around 1-1.5 lb/week, and stay under 18%BF. You can go straight from a cut into a bulk, but after a bulking phase, take a month staying at the new weight before starting to cut.

I've met some PUA guys over the years, and the good ones were actually very good, really impressive to watch in action. I also know a few guys who've had no exposure to PUA stuff whatsoever, but are almost as good, doing all the right things out of the same playbook, I guess because they picked it up from their dad growing up or subconsciously figured it out on their own. Heh, reminds me of a friend suffering from the opposite: 6'3, good-looking, and REALLY fucking proud of his game, which is actually nonexistent. Girls approach him left and right, and he only has to not fuck up. Whenever I try to gently point it out to him, he goes "Oh it has nothing to do with how I look, bro. At a loud venue where you can't be heard, have no social proof, and are shorter than most other guys there, you'll probably have a tough time hooking your approaches. Similarly, if your online profile says you're under 6', you'll probably get filtered out by all but the hammiest of planets. So fucking what? Don't put yourself in those situations without expecting the challenge. And anywhere else where you're already in conversation and a woman gives you shit on your height, that's fucking gold. …

I applaud the sentiment, however to maintain focus I suggest that we leave specific advice to more topical forums when possible, such as Fitness, weightroom, malefashionadvice, seduction, etc. Otherwise TRP risks being reduced to the one-stop amateur hour of all male-related content, flooded with entry-level posts from sidebars elsewhere.

Take some time to digest information about healthy diet, this is the first step to take before starting exercising if you feel overwhelmed with the amount of information you're trying to take in. Just do it for a couple of days if you need to, not weeks. This is huge. Picking a program and going to the gym is a great start, but educate yourself on how to improve your body, at least a little bit, and you'll get much more bang for your buck in the long run. I know many wealthy new-money people like this, millionaires haggling for a dime at the bagel counter, and I understand. It's not about valuing your money, or being afraid to lose it. It's about how self-perceived overspending would make you feel, however small. People build a self-identity growing up, and their emotional reactions come from that, even if their socioeconomic status changes drastically later in life. Maybe this guy deeply despised rich people flaunting their status before he came…

I also feel that if I was only like 5'6 it would make a world of difference. Funny how everyone seems to think this. 5'6 guys think 5'8 would have made all the difference, 5'8 guys think if they were 5'10 they'd have everything, while 5'10 guys daydream about how awesome their life would be if they weren't such under-6' midgets. So think of all the 5'1 guys who swear they would have fucked the entire East Coast up and down if only they were in your 5'3 shoes.

Dude, you're insecure because you're insecure. Sure, height matters, but lots of things matter. Everyone knows one guy who's very short and fucks 10s. At that point it becomes a strength because it makes it even more impressive, that's why everyone remembers that guy. Other chicks who see that guy with the hot girl are dying to meet him and find out what it is he's got going for him.
