I was the opposite. When I talked to a girl I was interested in, I left no doubt as to what I was interested in. I never made friends with girls unless I was in a relationship with them first. What I see happening is that guys settle for the friend zone because it is safer and easier to go there since there is no fear of rejection. I felt like I was back in Psych 101 reading the post. I had a much simpler method. I looked for girls who showed an interest in me and then approached them. Never feared a female.
