I tend to agree with Mystery (yes, he's very much still around & coaching with Rob Beckster) when he says there's 3 "flavors" of in-person approach. - Cold (as you correctly described) - Warm (same as you described) - Hot => Where your reputation precedes you and therefore you need no "social circle intro" as in Warm.
