Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the cookie is saying that women should strive to be better than men

Alright, I'll give you that; that's definitely a fair statement. However though, it's not like the individual is walking away with nothing, at the end of the day the compensation isn't too bad. Personally I'd rather suck it up for 4 years and come out the other side a bit more stacked than had I not joined. I see your point and agree that there's a lot of bullshit strings attached, but overall I'd say it's a net gain and a great way for a man to go his own way. Seeing how coddled the females are…

I mean, that's not a super accurate statement. Only 15 U.S. military combat deaths occurred in 2017 and so far this year only 2 have occurred. That's 17 out of 1.4 million; honestly you're more likely to face suicide than an actual combat related incident, and with all due respect I wouldn't call suicide sacrificing yourself for politicians. That's just my take though, you're more than welcome to your own opinion

Does anyone else find it odd that the New York Times is pushing this? It was my understanding that they fell pretty hard left (considering the Sarah Jeong fiasco), am I wrong in this assessment or does anyone else find this odd how they are seemingly playing both fields?

The shitty thing is that there are no immediate downsides to getting married in the military. You get out of the barracks, get paid extra, if you're on Oki and E-3 or below you get a car, etcetera... It's pretty much bullshit how the military glorifies marriage. Hell, I could go on a tangent about how women in general just are shit for being in the military (I guess Marine Corps specifically since I don't really have any experience in the other branches), but I think I'll save it for another tim…

I wouldn't quite call it based, just not as shitty as NorCal. I'd say from LA down is where stop acting stupid. I'd go as far to say that San Diego is a pretty good city. Source: grew up in SoCal

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
