This is the problem with the wests increasing pivot to rampant individualism, where ironically the individuals have put themselves at risk of increased suffering. In the case where you commit to someone in order to build something bigger than yourself (eg a family in your example), then starting over is a step or many backwards. If you built a business with a partner but you wanted to leave you would have to start a business from scratch by yourself or with a partner. You will build more in one …

I would go as far as to say dehumanizing is their only argument, because if they considered them humans there would be no justification for any argument to kill them. Exceptions could be if the mother's life was at risk, or the child would never grow to be viable and live independently. Drawing such a bright line between pre birth and post birth shows a lack of basic animal biology undsrstanding.

Fair enough, ultimately it comes down to a disagreement on when human life begins.

I understand that's how women feel. Killing a human you created to avoid that feeling is what pro lifers are against. In other words the childs life is more important. I don’t care about a clump of cells dying. Fair enough, well we have reached an impass here, as pro lifers treat it as human life all the same, especially after 12 weeks.

Then it's her choice to keep the child, she would only make that choice if she believed they were worth keeping. Keeping the child and taking responsibility or giving up the child so someone else will take responsibilty avoids killing a human.

They won't need the check, aparently there are more couples on the waiting list to adopt babies than there are babies up for adoption. So these babies find their they into loving homes, sometimes into even LGBT ones!

Conservatives don’t believe in government assistance that would essentially be raising most of these kids. I won't get into the complexities of this but there are always tradeoffs, wealthfare has it's issues. It's a really difficult economic issue for sure. Also conservatives on the balance of things think excessive wealfare does more damage than good. Listen to some Thomas Sowell, an intellectual Black economists and his take on the issue. It'll give insight into what many conservatives believe…

We agree, conservatives are not a fan of government assistance. Charity is civil assistance, they are different. Conservatives would rather charities do more to help people than a big inefficient govenrment. Hence why conservatives are more generous in charitible giving.

It's sad how it's common for people like you to be charecterized in ways that just demonstrates ignorance of what you believe in. It's like these people have never spoken too or even had a prolife friend.

I don't know where you got that from, but it's actually pro-lifers that do the most charity and provide the most support to parents in need. Also christians make up a large demo of pro lifers who also adopt more than non christians according to the CDC. I think your perceptions about prolifers conflict stats/research. However I'm happy to have my mind changed if exposed to evidence to the contruary.

Pro lifers believe abortion is killing a human, so I doubt the majority of them care about the material consequences of not doing so. To them everything is worth not killing the child, they are often principled so anything you throw at them won't bother them.

If you want to be reductionistic, then yes. However someone who's only had sex in comitted relationships, those who have hookups, those who have whole hot girl summers and prostitutes have different risk profiles

I'm average height, not lean but not visibly overweight (84kg) I've got approached a few times in the past, but less so now. I had a much larger presence back then but now I'm much more introverted and focused on my career. Also back then I had no clue about the politics or culture back then, so I was quite blissfully unaware how bad my looks affected me, my confidence carried me. Now I'm older the game has got boring and career and wealth building has consumed my mind. If you want to get approa…

How many times have you said I'm trying to force women to have children when I said everytime I believe each women has the choice 😅 Forget everything else I said... I believe in and respect women who chose not to have kids. Is that direct enough?

Your guilty of your point, you claimed that was not your statement and didn't proceed to explain why or what your statement actually is. Considering most people understand me really well on a social and professional level I don't believe this is a general issue. Rather the issue is we are two individuals struggling to communicate through a text medium. I've seen hyper intelligent people get stuck in a similar way even in face to face conversation. It happens sometimes, we can either end it here …

No matter how you spin it INDIVIDUALS are apart of the population as a whole. I never said they weren't, you are still not understanding how something can be okay for individuals but not an entire population. This is pretty basic, I'm sorry if I've offended but I couldn't ever imagine struggling to convey this point with scientists/engineers I know (being one myself). Well educated and scientific background are two different things though. Even Cambridge educated people could struggle with this …

You cannot separate the general population from individuals because individuals make up the general population lmao. Dude are you serious? If you came from a academic background you would be able to understand there is clear a difference between population and individual. Let me try make a very simple example. It's 100% fine for individuals to not pursue STEM, however it's not fine as a population to stop pursuing STEM as the infastructure would collapse and millions would perish. Individuals ar…

The body is cheaper to raise than the mind! The poor sell their body, the rich sell their mind. Also child mortality rates going down is big influence too, there are so many factors but mostly explained by wealth indeed

The population is made up of individuals as a collective. You don't understand me if you can't tell the difference between people (as a population or in general stop having kids) or people (as individuals stop having kids). One is fine and the other leads to the extinction on mankind. Not everyone needs to or is even fit to be a parent, that's 100% absolutely in no way shape or form a problem, how can I be more clear. Everyone has thought twice about having children which I why the birth rate ha…

At a population level, not at an individual level, you've missunderstood me. To clarify everyone has the right to choose to have kids or not. It's only an issue if everyone stops having kids, that was my point! The reason I'm saying you are mad because you are making an argument against no one, because you have misunderstood my beliefs.

You should relax, I'm not trying to convince anyome like I said before, just laying down facts. You are an animal... humans are just the most advanced. Seriously why are you so mad with a random online, to which you can't even comprehend what they say as your take aways are misinterpretations. Quote me where I say women choosing to not have kids is wrong?

I've not even made an attempt to convince her, just laying out facts relevant to the conversation. Random people on the internet have no place or even ability to do that, just relax.

Well there is a bias for wealthier/intelligent men when you look at the college educated. What about the general population?

Well that makes the assumption that kids won't add value to life, if they did then they need a father...

From an evolutionary point of view, you want to get your genes into future. If you're poor your best strategy is to spray and pray, but with more money you can instead invest more heavily into fewer kids that will in turn do better. Quantity vs Quality!

That's good, hope things work out for guys. Even if it doesn't because you have valued your sexuality and not given it out cheaply, decent future men will value it too!

It's not insulting telling anyone they may regret a decision they are making... It would be insulting to say they are making a mistake or are a fool. It's literally just pointing out a non arbitruary and frequently occuring possibility. Childless women in 40s are among the most unhappy people in any demographic. I read the publication and it makes sense, I used to be like that however it's not ideal. What is ideal is acting in the way that leads to maximising your potential to do good in the wor…

When did I ever say it's not possible to regret having kids, that's a completely different issue that wasn't brought up. When you look at the studies for parents who regret having kids, they are prevalent with younger parents, suggesting once again the older you get the more inclined you are to want to have children, and regret then less. https://yougov.co.uk/topics/lifestyle/articles-reports/2021/06/24/one-twelve-parents-say-they-regret-having-children I don't know where you got your informatio…

So instead of have a rational conversation you insult my intelligence... Even if genuine it's not an educated guess. I'm only 26, pretty career oriented, no time for kids.

You claimed that if you are intelligent you are more likely to not want to have kids as you get older. The very article you linked presents more intelligent people are less likely to want kids in an absolute sense. Infact this article hints that specially for men they become more inclined to have kids the later into their reproductive career. Also it only indicated women are more likely to stick their initial choice and doesn't specify what proportion reverses gear. The language is ambigious but…

From 22? It's common knowledge people become more family oriented as they mature. Please provide evidence. Might be my fault for using the term intelligence rather than wise.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/06/22 11:53 AM

You're only 22, intelligent people have the most capacity for growth. If you consider yourself smart you should also consider your mind will become more family oriented the older you get. I don't understand why adopted children have a different standard to biological children?

I agree with you, however I'm only doing that for a virgin. Even monkeys have an elaborate sense of fairness and it's been developed in complex social animals for a long time. I will feel some way about jumping through many hoops and sacraficing a lot for a woman that a hot guy can just come along and get for free. Rightly so no one wants to pay full price if others are getting a heavy discount or freebies. No one can take back the past so honestly I feel like a lot of women will buy a dog and d…
