Is this sub about how awful women are or how awful feminism is? I feel that a lot of the posts are pointing (fairly accurately) to the shittiness of women in general as opposed to the shittiness of feminism.

Did she claim to be a feminist? I don't think feminism (in most cases) implies that everyone is equally attractive...

Also you can randomly declare that your king is now a queen and vice versa, at any point in the game, as much as you like.

A "functioning" society in which everyone is miserable is not desirable.

Men and women have the same objective value (nothing). Men and women should operate within a meritocracy and have equal access to education, employment and political expression. There shouldn't be a pay gap all other things being equal.

I'm going to Cancun on Monday - let me know if you want a wingman. I'm 35 so can be you're fucking uncle or some bullshit - haha! I'm British, just in the area for three nights before heading West

That's just patently untrue though, or at least impossible for any currently existing man.

This conversation is so often flipped around so that the man complainimg about it is made to feel responsible or inadequate. I'm a pretty good looking guy, tall, very highly educated, with a posh English accent girls like: when I'm traveling in Asia the hookers still want $50 or whatever. It doesn't make any difference how valuable you are: most women don't want casual sex.

The interesting thing about that essay is that it reveals how confined and censored free-speech on this matter had become. The rest of Schopenhauer's philosophy is highly complex, he wasn't an idiot, I think he enjoyed being brutally honest about the truth as he saw it. Everyone should read that essay, put their butt-hurt to oneside, and try to think critically about which bits are true and which are false. Afterall, it'd be bit bold for anyone to assert it's 100% nonesense. [PS. I'm mainly a li…

Ah yes, but the men who can pull will always be much smaller in number than the women who can get pulled! This is what is becoming abundantly clear on dating-apps: where very high quality men have to settle for very low quality women - because the high quality women are less likely to engage in casual sex freely. I think it's important to be clear that: in order for a man to get consistent access to varied casual sexual partners - he really has to have it all! In order for a woman to get consist…

Arthur Schopenhauer — 'There are 80000 prostitutes in London alone and what are they, if not bloody sacrifices on the alter of monogamy?'

Indeed, at least your agreement with men didn't, essentially, cost them their lives and freedom. People don't like to talk about prostitution because it lays bare the basic inequality between men and women: your sexuality is worth about $100/hour (because men value it) and men's is so worthless and despised that it's worth -$100/hour. This basic imbalance is something most feminists refuse to acknowledge: they actually try to make out that women are the real victims in that game (not that there …

Yeah... except far more women want relationships instead of casual sex compared to men - which is pretty much the driving force of the entire "battle of the sexes" really. Making this about me is a cop-out: again - look at how gay men behave when unfettered by the compromises imposed on them by women - it's obvious that this is a generalisable difference in behaviours between men and women. Women who are up for casual sex are in short supply: most men end up with little real choice but to settle…

Hate is too strong, and I hate "women in general" whilst loving individual women: I only really like and respect women who fuck me and ask for nothing in exchange, I like women who act like gay men. I want women to desire and value me in the same way that I desire and value them. I want casual sex with women and they don't want it with me: they just want relationships and commitment. From what I've observed: relationships and commitment invariably end up castrating, sedating and disempowering me…

Many have mentioned that women are less likely to abandon terminally ill men than vice-versa. It is worth considering that the financial gains/risks for leaving a dying partner will tend to be different for men and women: let's no paint this is pure selfless virtue when, in truth, it may well be motivated by money.

A few people have mentioned this so far in the thread: the cynical part of me wonders if this, also, is just about money. Essentially, there's a chance the women are just doing time to get the inheritance and don't want to risk missing out on money he might leave her. Men are less likely to get money from their dying women and less likely to need it.

Personally, I would feel too guilty breaking up with a girl who already had a lot of stuff on her plate. In one last relationship I knew I wanted to end it, she was under a lot of stress at work, I didn't want to be "the straw the broke the camel's back" - and so I waited, helped her to get a new job she was happy with in a new profession - and then ended it. My experience of women is that they are far more emotionally sensitive and vulnerable than men: they cry easily - they break down easily -…

I think if I were born female I'd live as you are living. My relationship pattern has been pretty similar. To me older women represent "commitments" I'm keen to avoid: mortgages, marriage, kids - and the thirty year stint in some awful job (they're all awful, that's why we don't do them for free) to pay for it all.

Interesting stuff. If this is true, then feminism, MGTOWs and MRAs are all, basically, driven by the will to dis-empower the privilege that beautiful women hold. Narratives around sexual capital are pretty clear about this in MGTOW/MRA circles. Beautiful women, basically, leave both men and non-beautiful women with a sense of powerlessness. I suppose feminist opposition to the Burka might be cited as a counter-example: nothing levels the playing field, when it comes to sexual capital, like a mas…

Interesting stuff. Yeah, I feel the same way - I just feel like my whole life has been scripted so that ultimately: marriage, lifelong monogamy, children, working 9-5 for 50 years - is the option you're pressured towards and if you don't conform to it - get used to shame and being shat on. So much for freedom: every one thinks they're free and ends up doing the same miserably shit as everyone else. I'm a cynic these days: everyone is fundamentally motivated by self-interest and most of what we c…

Would you say that, when it comes to the younger guys looking for older women (I was like this myself in my mid-twenties) they are looking for life-long partnerships though? I think it's probably important to distinguish this: my OP is (though I didn't make it clear) referring to women over 35 who are holding out for a life-long marriage partner. The fact that guys want to hook-up with some middle-aged women doesn't really allay the fears of women who want to "secure" a husband. I completely agr…

Married women are not 'outside the game' of competing with younger women in any way whatsoever. Men can be tempted into adultery by younger women, young women have great power to do this and ruin a married woman's claims of life-long ownership of the man's sexuality. That is 'already considered disgusting' in our current female-centred social and cultural milieu: even a hundred or two hundred years ago the idea of a man having a mistress, if he was wealthy, was fairly accepted as something that …

So long as those patterns are described and explained in an objective and fair way, without bias, double-standards, and preferably without attempts at creating shame or manipulation - there's nothing wrong with describing the truth. If both the younger and older person just want something casual: I'm not entirely sure why such patterns would be relevant - most relationships end, regardless of the ages involved. "The older person is usually weird" sounds like a value-judgement, a massive generali…

Whilst I agree, I've read one theory that the war on prostitution came about due to an alliance between puritanical religion and the demands of industrialisation. Accordingly, around this time, there were powerful vested interests in having the next generation of healthy, obedient and reliable workers: the family unit became transformed mainly into a way of producing workers for the grand machine. By coincidence: this coheres with the general leaning towards monogamous, child-orientated, married…

Personally I think it is harmful, absolutely. I don't hear much "Real men do X,Y,Z" talk from feminists myself, it's more about how we need to raise boys/men differently. Nonetheless, if it's true that gender-roles are socially constructed and media-representations of gender have power: it's a bit odd that feminism is so consistently negative about men and masculinity which, at best, it views as a problematic social construct to be fixed and at worst it represents as sexually violent, uncaring, …

This is just a way for her to try and attack my ego instead of actually discussing the matter at hand. The user's top comment is a pretty perfect illustration of the kind of nonsense that middle-aged women are trying to peddle to younger-women: The definitions of "taken advantage of" and "abuse" are shifted by context. A 32 year-old man engaging in a BDSM fantasy with a 22 year-old woman [i.e. a consenting adult] is an 'abusive manifestation of patriarchal objectification and oppression whereby …

Oh for sure I am! Fortunately you and your friends don't represent the entire female population - it's widely accepted that a smaller age-gap preference for older guys is common in women. When a guy gets so lucky that a younger woman takes a shine to him: it's very interesting to see how others try and shit all over that - regardless of the happiness, consent, functionality of the relationship. Men add their own shame to the mix as well: it's easier for them to pretend there's some moral barrier…

No I do not think that at all. It's more about participating in a wider culture whilst creating/protecting a worldview that is comfortable to one's ego: each of us are agents of normalisation - arguing about what is normal and deviant, morally acceptable and shameful - we all participate in this, the internet has made that quite easy and inevitable - and one can clearly see in different subs different attempts to define what is moral/immoral, normal/abnormal etc. A woman may despair at the male …

"Women don't have to turn young women against men - men do that." Please: let's not resort to that level of intellectual dishonesty. That's like me defending the misogyny of a MRA by saying "women deserve it" - it's not constructive, true or useful. Both MRAs and Rad-Fems are operating under the most negative conceptions/representations of the opposite sex. You and I both know that men and women create representations of the opposite sex: positive or negative, to serve specific agendas. It's pre…

So, should women who are 35 and dating a 19 year-old women be judged in the same way as a man doing the same in your view? Or when a 35 year-old women dates a 19 year-old man? My personal experience is that, in the early thirties: a lot of men are still in the "phase of life" where they want to have sex with twenty-somethings, want to avoid "settling down", and succumbing to the mortgage-marriage-children life-script. At the same time, women (generally) seem more enthusiastic about that life-scr…

I was referring to online discussions mainly. I would argue that the equivalent is men shaming women who go after rich guys: words like "prostitute", "slut" etc, whilst the man is seen as "having to pay for it" - in this context - are essentially a non-wealthy man's way of protecting his ego and avoiding certain fears/anxieties he has (i.e. the fear he'll end up with a life-partner he isn't attracted to, because he doesn't have enough money/social-status). In a very similar way, women are motiva…
