Filed yesterdayI would agree to that, but do they monkey branch because they can. My ex is monkey branching, and I know 100% she met him after she left. I know she checked out of the relationship long before she actually left. If men could get women as easily as women, I expect they would monkey branch as well. I’m moving on so it really doesn’t affect me. My real point was that becoming toxic about your divorce is really unhealthy and doesn’t move you forward. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/04/24 11:21 PM
Filed yesterdayI'm right there with you. It took us a year after it was "over" for us to split. She moved out in January. They don't always cheat. Sometimes a relationship just stops working. We were married 34 years. I'm trying to be in a better place, but it sucks. Try to embrace the suck, and become a better person. There is some really good advice on r/Divorce_Men but there are also a lot of bitter divorced men, that believe all women are cheating whores. Don't get sucked into the negative. | 8 | Happily divorced, now what? Is money all that matters? You need time to heal. You have an opportunity to reinvent yourself. Who do you want to be. Take a self inventory, what do you want moving forward. Get rid of the bad, enhance the good. Work on yourself for you, no one else. No one is ever going to take care of you better than you. best of luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/02/24 09:16 PM
HelpI just use Excel, because I have it. Google sheets would work as well. Across the top I have the column names: Description, Paid, 15th, 31st, Date, Confirmation #, Notes. The paid field is where I put an "X" when it clears the bank. I know the 31st, isn't completely accurate, but I get paid twice a month. I have been using this for 10 years. A fair amount is Auto-pay, but I track that as well. I change the text color from black to green when I have paid it. Really simple. I also sum up the total… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/02/24 04:26 PM
Where to bust?I would highly recommend if you don’t want more or any kids to get snipped. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/02/24 10:42 PM
(UK) What do I need to consider when doing a DIY divorce?I would look to see if there are any online Divorce services that have fill in the blank contracts, in the UK. I didn't do a deep dive yet, but there are a few in the US. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/01/24 09:29 PM
Dying on the inside looking at my wifes credit card history...Preach! $3894 at Starbucks in 2023. That doesn't include Dutch Bros, and the other coffee places. Out of that, my portion might have been $25 on the occasional tea. Part of that was cups, she has close to 100. I have been using the same custom engraved Yeti tumbler for the last 4 years. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/01/24 03:08 PM
I don’t know how to be a single adultI'm 55, married at 21, and dated her for about a year before that. We just spilt a few weeks ago. She was also my first real relationship. Other than that, I had a handful of dates, that never went beyond 3 dates. I had never previously lived on my own. I know it is rough, but don't overlook the opportunity. You get to reinvent yourself. Spend some time working on yourself, and your interests. Find out who you, as an individual, are. Best of luck! | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/01/24 10:30 PM
Trying to initialize a divorce with someone who consistently guilt trips. You need to start by being honest with yourself about why you got married in the first place. Based on the timeline, and your comments, your wife was pregnant when you got married, and you apparently didn't have enough conversations about values and beliefs. If this is a correct assumption, would you have gotten married if she wasn't pregnant? | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/01/24 10:02 PM
Move out dayMy ex told be she was leaving on New Years eve. We had been working through our issues for close to two years, and she decided it was time to move on. She moved out last week. You have an opportunity to rebuild your life. Make the most of it! Become the best version of you you can be. You can make whatever changes you see fit. Take care of yourself, and give yourself time and grace to heal. While I plan to be back in a relationship at some point, I am taking a year or two to really work on mysel… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/01/24 04:18 PM
Should I notify her that the papers are coming or just let the lawyer take care of everything?Giving her a heads up is a bit of an olive branch, and would soften the blow, even if she is expecting you will file at some point. No one likes to be blindsided by something like this. You can at least know you tried to do the right thing, regardless of what happens. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/01/24 04:23 PM

Did anyone else have sex with their ex wife during the process?A tale as old as time. We had a discussion about it being just sex... surprise, it wasn't. She asked if we could try dating, this was a week after she left and moved out. After that I shut it down. She wasn't willing to fix the issues on her side, and that was the end of it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/01/24 11:19 PM
Grey divorce, teen children and retirementMy son and his ex have managed to co-parent for 12 years without a formal visitation plan. Their child is 14 and in high school, and floats back and forth at this point. At 16 they should be able to decide for themselves. I 55M have been separated a few weeks. So far, no lawyers involved. We are splitting the assets 50/50, each keeping our respective businesses. We are working on a written agreement that we will both sign, that will stipulate mediation if needed. Finances are being divided. She … | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/01/24 09:08 PM
