Definitely shelf the baby conversation. You wrote a lot about her but what about your behaviour? I have never met a divorced person that took responsibility for themselves. NOT coming at you, just trying to get you to reflect on how you can improve the relationship. It takes both people to put in the work. It’s going to take honest uncomfortable dialogue, it may not save the relationship but it might help you both learn what the other truly thinks and feels.

This is your preference, I really think that step parenting is a thankless job. My own Dad wasn’t father material and never wanted to be a parent. It’s okay to not want to go down that road, no apologies.

A lot of us loose 20lbs and think we lost 20 years. She is going to find out that she left a good man for (excitement) and that most of that isn’t going to make her any happier. Please go low or no contact, it’s sad but she did this to herself.

Let her go, no one is to blame. Before my forty year marriage, I dated a very good match for me. He checked every box but was one of those, marriage is just a piece of paper people. We split up, he never married, i have three children and am going strong with my husband.

Most cases I have seen, second marriage couples tend to sell and get a house together. Yes, prenup. The troubles I see in second marriages is the children from the first marriages and of course money. The largest hot messes come when someone stupidly marries the affair partner, that’s just satisfying/entertaining to watch!

Clean split, mixing finances in marriage is rough, mixing while divorced? Crazy town.

At the end of the day, what has changed? Adult children going away? What you said to each other? Both our your behavior towards each other going to be forgotten? Maybe agree to consider dating again, but marriage? No one says but second marriage is baggage, baggage, baggage. First marriage is you are just young and dumb.

She is at the very least in an emotional affair, so you are the reason. Please remember adults have sex, children kiss. You will become the abuser, she has been suffering for years! Start documenting, print out financials.

This is a you problem. Women who don’t know you will get offended by calling your female pets bit$hs. You have to know that. Besides, you have daughters, please show more maturity.

She is trying to get a reaction, don’t go there. Whatever you need to do, only discuss your son. Tell her that is the only conversation you will have with her. This says more about her than you. Very tacky.

Don’t say anything until ink is dry on divorce papers. Use this as leverage, get what you can out of settlement first.

Got married in 1985, still married. I am the wife. Do a 180, go low contact. Don’t trash her, don‘t beg. Stay busy, eat right, lay off drinking, sort through old junk, clean out stuff. DO NOT fall apart. Women our age tended to put others first and we build up resentment. Not saying this is fair but often true. I have 3 kids, when second one started college I freaked out realizing that this is my life now.

I think that it’s good that you do casual coffee, dinner dates. Even text flirting. Please for the love of God, do not jump into a relationship. Take this glacier slow. This is for your benefit and your children’s. You are all adjusting. But, if you need things to get ugly…

OMG, for the love of God, why are you dating? You’re newly separated with young children and it doesn’t sound like a pretty split, if this new lady is so great don’t drag her into your crazy. Buddy, you are the red flag. Please for the sake of your children just stop, navigate yourself, your divorce and your relationship with your children.

Remember the old joke, why is divorce so expensive? Because it’s worth it! Get back out and redo it all again. 10 years is nothing.

Please record all exchanges and document. It’s a safety issue not parking in driveway. OMG. Load and unload a small child in street parking? Bury them with their own shovel.

Please drink protein shakes, I had gastric bypass and the shakes were much needed. You’re not mean to drop that much weight so quickly. Your body will do that starvation shock thing. You really don’t need that on top of holding it together through a divorce. Yes, its nice getting into your old clothes but its not fun watching your hair circle the drain.

I am an old SAHW. I think these woman are disgusting. What did she do to your kids, emotionally? Her only job was to protect them and she has left them with lifelong insecurities. Please go grey rock and get her out. Let those friends that cheered her on, take her in. If she plays the kids suffering card. Say that you’re more then willing to feed and shelter them, NOT her.

I know a very normal Guy on his 5th divorce. He keeps marrying the same kind of woman. Doesn’t see anything negative before wedding, and she is the devil after. People need to realize that sometimes we are our own worst enemy. Not throwing blame just saying, get some perspective or you will rinse and repeat.

Lady here. I am not built to be the person that can still remain a friendship with an ex. If you have kiddos together, contact or communication is something that has to be maintained but friendships? Hard pass. I have to be able to trust and respect a friend. And frankly that’s not how I define my ex lovers or they would still be in my inner circle.

I am female in my sixty’s. Married thirty eight long years. I truly think the truth is somewhere in the middle. I mean you really can’t make another adult do anything they don’t want to. If someone wants out, right or wrong that’s on them. As everyone should know, marriage is a choice. I have seen plenty of bad marriage continue as well as good marriages burn to ashes. I can’t call it for someone else. My husband and I have had many highs and lows. We are just people, nothing special. I like to …

This, use her wanting Mr. Wonderful to make your divorce smoother, then nuke his life. The wife has a right to know and plan accordingly.

I am a woman who follows this site to gain a male prospective. I would bet anything she had a boyfriend in the wind. It probably was online and she might of been catfished but she was emotionally cheating for sure. I think personality she is dumber then dumb. No sympathy for her at all because she is a crap mom. Get distance and cut contact before she hurts your daughters more then she has. She shouldn’t be a role model to anything.
