Hi OP, sorry I’m late to the party but I need to weigh in, in case you haven’t yet, you need to break up with her. This is a major red flag. I saw multiple red flags with my ex and chose to ignore them because I loved her. I wish someone had told me what to do at the time,; now I am battling my ex through courts for the right to see my children despite being a heavily involved, hands on father who has done nothing wrong. Please Son, protect yourself and break up with her. Use her as an example o…

I think the term ‘woke’ has evolved beyond being aware of inequalities. It has become a symbol of people being overly sensitive and most certainly has a negative connotation. The men’s rights movement is right on the nose with inequalities we face regarding family rights, unbalanced judicial systems, and discrimination against men.

Lawyer up and go aggressive on the divorce. She will bleed you dry from this point on. If you think she won’t get nasty, she will. Don’t take the high road, it may be your instinct but it will do you no favours. She will fight dirty, you need to fight dirty. You can do this man, you were you before her, and you’re still you. You need to reclaim yourself now.

Please look after yourself. You need to take every precaution you can eg. evidence of abuse. Report abuse to your doctor. Be prepared for her to try and ruin your life. You need to be 5 steps ahead of her. I wish you the best of luck bro.

100%. At the start of it all, I thought ‘if I tell only the truth, it will win out and at least I will be able to sleep at night’. Nope. Going back to court for round 2 shortly, she has full custody and I tell you what, I fucking can’t sleep at night.

It’s worth finding out. Best of luck brother.

Number 1 here. She didn’t succeed, I’d told my doctor about her threats but it didn’t stop me getting arrested in the first place.

I don’t know why someone down voted you, it’s a very valid point. Children should have anonymity.

I have kids bud. I’m also hyper aware of dangers. Particularly after family court. Luckily my kids don’t have a serious allergy, but if I did fuck up like OP did, and owned my mistake, I’d hope that other dads could show some compassion, not finger pointing. You need to grow up yourself mate.

Sorry but you’re completely full of shit 💩 This guy could be an amazing dad and he has made 1 mistake and owned it. Shit like this happens all the time, mistakes happen. It’s the result, intent and lesson learned that’s important. Stop putting the man down. Edit: in fact why are you even in this sub? This is a safe space for men.

Yes we do, but should we have to? If this happened with the mother, it would be an unfortunate incident

And if he broke his leg falling in soft play or something, he wouldn’t spend 4 hours in hospital? Get over yourself, shit happens

100% agree with you. These other “perfect” dads are full of shit. Shit happens, he didn’t do it on purpose

They may have already legally separated, were living apart amicably or some other arrangement. He might have lent her the money in good faith after they had already split funds.

I would actually argue to go back, gather evidence and take full custody. I’ve tried it the other way and it doesn’t work.

Yep. It just needs to be said, no proof, no nothing. It’s guilty until proven innocent (which is sometimes quite impossible).

I actually completely agree. I tried doing everything by the book, convinced that I would be able to sleep at night at least. If I could go back in time I would do it very differently.

Bud I know it’s hard to accept but you need to protect yourself now. Speak to a solicitor. Document everything. This is going to go south and you need to put yourself first.

Unfortunately this is the normal story for men that have to go to court.

Hi bud, I’m really sorry you’re going through this. I was in a similar position, I did everything for my kids. When I asked my abusive wife for a divorce, she made false allegations and stopped me seeing them for 8 weeks. The next step was she agreed to supervised visits, two hours twice a week supervised by her family. I pushed through this hell for the kids. I’m now over a year since D day as it were, I have my kids unsupervised twice a week. I’ll be taking her back to court before long to get…

There’s not much I haven’t experienced in my divorce. It literally could not have been more hostile. I think you’ve misunderstood OP.

I read the post as the OP is saying “my child” to US. Wtaf are you on about??

Reach out to your friends that you lost contact with. You might just find that they have been waiting patiently and are more than open to reconnecting.

It would have just been hit with the “you’re obviously a misogynist” anyway

I think the fact that people can be slandered with absolutely no recrimination is awful. In my day you just asked mutual friends (if you had them) if there was anything you should know!

The problem comes when you go into the definition. Who judges whether someone is loyal or not? Maybe someone just wants to post their ex for fun. Maybe someone is bored and decides to start commenting on posts making random claims. The whole thing should be illegal, male or female.

Thanks bud. It’s been a rollercoaster of a year. Asked my wife for a divorce and she made false allegations as she had promised to do. Despite the fact that I had been to my doctor 7 months before, and him making note of her threats, I still had to prove my innocence in family court. Unfortunately I had believed that right would win out; if I just told the truth, the system would do the right thing. Nope, if you are a man, you need to fight dirty like they do. God knows if I could go back in tim…

As a father who has just spent £12,000 to get to see his children, my experience of the family courts is that they are inherently prejudiced against men. My ex wife was able to make the most outlandish claims without a shred of evidence. Even after I disproved them with an overwhelming amount of evidence, I get my kids for 10 hours a week despite being their primary carer before the split.

I don’t think you have a very healthy self image. Just because models have muscular physiques does not mean the every day man has to. It’s the same pitfall that women fall into.

Why would anyone be repulsed? It’s just a human body. As an example surely working outside on a warm day it would be totally acceptable?

Try to stop being overly concerned with your natural appearance. Absolutely take care of yourself, get your hair cut regularly, skin care etc but you are the way you are. If you’re self conscious, do something about it. Start working out, if you don’t know how, hire a PT on a short term basis who will teach you how to work out. If you are doing these things, you will feel better about yourself, no doubt about it.

I was banned from r/abusiverelationships a sub that really helped me survive my marriage. I messaged the moderator asking it be reviewed to be told this sub is misogynistic. I said that that hasn’t been my experience and they muted me.

I’m struggling to see what your comment has to do with the previous comment. This narrative of ‘yeah, but men can do this’ has to stop. It doesn’t add anything to the discussion, it only serves to draw attention away from the problem and preserve the narrative that men are bad, women are good.

Even the wording of the article is jaded; she groomed and HAD SEX with him, rape is only mentioned in reference to her allegation against him.

Is no one else alarmed that this is a 13 year old child writing this? This is not “a man”, this is a child who needed to be protected as well. I’m sorry you went through this especially in your formative years, I hope that you have sought/received some therapy on how to deal with this. False allegations have a huge impact on your mental health. Please also remember that there are normal women around who wouldn’t dream of making FA. I blame one woman for my false allegations - not all women - I h…

I’m sorry that this happened to you. Your ex was not entitled to invalidate your feelings. All forms of abuse are different and do not invalidate the others.
