There are plenty of issues between me and my wife. I just know the only thing I control in that regard is me. I know my mindset sucks, I know I avoid doing the work, I know I have a preference for getting comfortable and lazy. Maybe it's backwards, maybe it's not the best way, but I think I'm getting closer to the root of my issues. In regards to my deadlift number, with the amount of years I've been training it should probably be better. Kettlebells work because they're heavy enough for me that…

Thanks for taking the time, you bring up some solid points. Can you adapt that to your schoolwork issue? Not the first time this has been brought to my attention. I'll need to really dig in on this one, but initial thought: lifting has always been fun and easy for me. I always want to work out. It's my go to solution for whenever I feel like shit. Even when I don't feel like it (unless I'm injured), I know I'll feel incredible afterwards. I'll need more time to unwrap this idea, but the it's pro…

I'm 99.9% sure that I can't possibly get positive response if I apply today Sounds like a great excuse to not even try, right? yes, I need somebody to hold my hand, for this one thing, this one time. If I didn't need help, I wouldn't be here. I get it, you're here because you don't like the way things are going. The point I'm trying to make is that the only person who can help you is you. No one else cares.

If I haven't applied to at least one job by next Tuesday, I'll ask the mods, if it isn't too much of a hassle, to slap me with the most humiliating / demeaning (accurate) tag they can think of, I'm sure it would be fitting. This is extremely dumb. You need someone to hold your hand? Why aren't you applying for a job every day? Multiple jobs every day?

WNS talks about setting up systems rather than chasing goals. I think if you focus on what you do daily it will help you. For instance, you are fat. Don't think of how much weight you have to lose. Focus on what you can do daily to stop being fat. I would suggest fasting, either intermittent (16-20 hrs every day) or trying some longer fasts (48 to 72 hrs). Look up snake diet. Also, LIFT. If you have access to gym, look up GZCLP (No gym? Get some gymnastic rings and look up calisthenics programs)…

I needed some time to experiment on a few things before I knew how to respond to this. The more you examine yourself and pave new ways to handle that helplessness This was where I was breaking down, my path out of helplessness previously was through anger. Enough anger and self-hate and I would finally get up and act. But it was an emotional roller coaster and results were unpredictable, exhausting, and inefficient. Funny enough, I discovered this very thing in my own journaling this week. I brought it up in my OYS. Very similar, including the loop: I set high standards, fail to achieve those standards, get angry, further distract and escape those feelings, fail to achieve those standards, and so on. My conclusion was also remarkably similar, except on the front end. I decide what the standards are, no one else gives a shit. If I'm my own judge, maybe I should give myself a chance to try and the option to f…

All your post says is you're fat and you aren't putting in the work. I'm not going to read your previous post because I don't care. In the past I have done a poor job of creating meaningful goals, or creating too many and not following through. I'm trying to prioritize building the habit of sitting down and just focusing, so hence the pomodoro timer. You have a good point with the MAP -- currently I've been using a punch list of ongoing issues that I have going on. Various projects and responsibilities. Do you know what's causing the back pain? Have you seen a professional? If you don't smoke recreationally, then why not get it prescribed? If its just an issue of you smelling (and not you being obviously high all the time), why not use a vape pen? Or invest in a dry-herb vaporizor? Or buy edibles? If you can't buy edibles, making canna-butter is stupid easy and makes weed last way longer. Fucking delicious too. Or maybe you're just rationalizing your use. Like it was programmed in your mind...

Since I was recently a dense stoner too, I'm going to spell it out for you. You need weed to relax because otherwise you would have to face all your bullshit and your problems. Instead of working on them, you avoid them. Your wife smokes because you do, because you are boring and you suck. Munchies are not the problem, they're a side effect. Smoking is the problem, do you seriously not make this connection? Beginners can recomp, if they have discipline to cut out all the bullshit and distraction…

You've got plans to address it? I checked, you don't specifically address it at all. Or do you mean intermittent fast where feasible? So you fucking won't, because it's hard. "Where feasible" is giving yourself an out and allowing yourself to fail. And, to make sure I understand, you're going to plan to do extra work to lose weight while still smoking weed? Why not just remove the issue and stop smoking weed in the first place? Because it's hard and you earned it and you just want to relax, righ…

I love barbell work, actually emptied out a storage unit of workout equipment when the pandemic closed down all the gyms. Sold a rack, barbell, hundreds of pounds of plates on Craigslist. If I had waited I'm sure I could have made more but I knew others could use it more than I could. I just had no room to use it in my small garage. I definitely deserved it. Whether I do it right or fail, I have to keep doing the work and try to do better the next time. To clarify, I'm not trying to force the mission--as I know it will constantly change as I continue doing the work--but rather align in a certain direction. For instance, identifying what I fear and what I avoid. I will always feel stuck without options if I don't address these. Thanks for input.

My method of trying to do "assisted" pull-ups probably isn't the best, so I'm going to look into fixing that. I should do the same for dips. Stop doing them assisted entirely. Highly recommend you get some gymnastic rings for dips and so you can hang them high enough for pullups (so you don't have to bend your legs). Lots of youtube videos to show you how to progress. Your height and weight will be a disadvantage, but this will mean more gains in the future. RepFitness has some for about $30.
