‘Open relationship’ and ‘polyamory’ are not synonymous. An open relationship is often just two committed people who are also allowed to date/have sex with others, but those others remain external to the main relationship.

We’re getting dv’ed because Reddit is a non-average sample. 😂. Everyone is always so miserable here.

You just described my husband. There are so many more people like him than not. Well-adjusted men or women don’t need this constant validation, and in fact can talk to pretty much anyone. They’re also going to attract more people in social settings because they make others feel good.

Asking a question like that says a lot about you as a person, and IMO that is its own reward as a bullet dodged. We’ve all got our standards.

Lol what? Unless this is a cultural thing, anyone would be hard-pressed to find former sexual partners in a world of 8bil people.

Thank you! I have never heard anyone call it this IRL, and if I did, they’d immediately be labeled a dumb asshole in my mind.

If anyone ever asked me that it would be my cue to ask for the check. I’m a grown-ass woman and I do what I want. It’s nobody’s business, high or low. Period.

I am much more likely to talk to a normal, chill person and roll my eyes/walk away from a PUA and their idiotic, transparent bullshit.

I could not give less of a fuck if I’m useful or not to the rat race.

Im a pretty average person, pretty chill. I felt uneasy when I started reading this sub and AskMen. Then I talked to real people in the real world and remembered that Reddit isn’t exactly a great crossection of humanity. I immediately stopped taking a lot of these jokers seriously.

Yeah, nah, to each his/her own then. Much rather sort that out beforehand.

You can easily find it all out without the heartache and paperwork of a divorce, too.

How is experimenting not the way to find things out? You might really like that six figure lifestyle until you realize the work it takes to get there. With a limited relationship experience, maybe you don’t even know what you like in bed. You have no idea what is out there in the world, in any capacity, until you actually look. Also, I’ve been happily married for a very long time. So yes, PRESSURE of marriage when you’re young and inexperienced in life is real and can be avoided by literally jus…

Why can’t you just enjoy youth and the experiences it gives you? You don’t have to slut it up if you don’t want to, but at least give yourself a chance to grow up and find what you actually want in a mate without the pressure of marriage breathing down your neck.

Finally, a sensible opinion. I think most of us in healthy relationships just do this naturally.

Yes. No. No. No, unless it is interfering with basic day-to-day life activities.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
