I wish I could have voted twice, because she quit early, but it also helped me be a better person.

I thought I would but it's been 4 months and I don't remember the exact day, mid December is all I remember without looking it up. My first not wedding anniversary just passed and I didn't realize till that night, that was weird.

I had mine done after my last kid was born. A day with frozen peas on your balls is not bad. I never did the follow up check like I should have so I plan on making sure I am firing blanks before getting back to the dating life.

I felt the same way, finally got notice that the judge accepted and signed, then felt nothing. I'm not great at processing emotions, working on it, so I really tried to feel something and thought I should. But it was just nothing. I still feel weird about it

I was married for 14 years and divorced for 2 months. At some point I will get back out, but I don't know when.

I've been out of dating game for a while now. But the rule of thumb I believe is half your age + 7. Not a set in stone universal law, but when you look at it it seems to work.

Wow, not expecting this level of negativity. I was not trying to imply that a few words can fix everything. But we are all at different points and sometimes little things hit people differently. I wish all of you all the best in this shared shit hole we are in.

Ahh, OK, I don't know much about military pensions. I see some numbers like that and feel poor. Though my ex wife's ex pays like $400 for 2 kids, but he is pretty deadbeat

How much are you guys making. I am at $1200/mth for 1 kid and it is killing me. I'm not a lawyer, but spousal support /alimony in Texas is a rare thing. If I remember you have to be married for 10+ years and she didn't work at all in that time. And even in that case it is only for a few years, not lifetime.

It didn't matter in my case so I am not certain , but I believe it can matter if you bought the house before you were married. Still talk to a lawyer, you should be able to get a 30 to 60 min consultation where you can decide. I ended up doing a Limited Representation Agreeed divorce but still paid like $300 just to talk to a different lawyer to make sure that I was not getting screwed over.

Others have said it, but I am in a similar boat as you. Find a therapist to talk to. Find some friends or family to talk to. Find a hobby to take your mind off things. I started learning card tricks. I don't know if your divorce is done yet, but get your shit together because she will roll over you during if she can. Mine is almost finalized, I mentally shifted from emotions to logic and treated the entire thing as a business deal, she did not. It sucks, and will probably get worse, it still hur…

Take a quick look at the signs of borderline personality disorder. You can't do anything to help the person, but knowing can arm you in discussions.

This gave me a nice chuckle

I just saw someone here mention the book, and that is how I have described my relationship for the past few years, so I checked it out. So startling how accurate it is. There is no help for her, and papers have already been filed, so I am just getting out. But it's nice to be able to arm myself to protect my kids from the same thing with her.

I'm in the process of divorcing and realized last week that I have been dealing with BPD for 15 years but never knew. I am reading a book called Walking on Eggshells, it is helping me realize what is going on. You may know more about it but wanted to throw my support your way.

I will let you know in 55 more days. Just started the process. I'm hopeful that we won't end up spending much more on lawyers, but with her, not certain.

I'm with you brother, just filed last week. 39 myself and terrified of the future, but excited for all new possibilities.

Yeah, I want everything in writing, and get it signed as soon as the 60 days is up.

Definitely helping to get physical activity going. Hitting the weights helps me a lot. Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, I tried to tell her that she is not really as good at communication as she thinks she is, and I am not going to try and figure out what she means, she needs to be clear and honest in what she tells me. So I did just that.

I will second on that thought. I just started the official process in what I hope will continue to be an "easy" divorce. Hearing others say that kids will be OK helps.

Pretty sure her line in the sand is custody, she would probably give up everything else for that. I need to decide if I would fight it for full 50/50, or go with something like standard plus some extra time.

We have been through a lot of legal battles with my step kids and their deadbeat dad, so I am not new to the legal system. Just didn't think I would be here myself. I don't want a long drawn out fight that I can't win, but don't want to screw myself either.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
