It didn't used to be. there was a long march through the subs where the admins (using sock puppets.) took over the major subs one by one to sanitize the site for advertizers.

this. I just accepted the world for what it is and moved on and now I've come back to see what's going on and the level of discourse has gone into a complete backslide. It's actually worse than when the sub first got founded.

because its almost impossible to make a profit doing residential construction. a vacant lot in SD goes for half a million and with 7 percent interest rates on a mortgage you've already priced yourself out before you've even built anything.
