I have been raped (while I was passed out). I've also had sex while drunk many times and these are nowhere near the same thing. I'm not telling men to try to pick up drunk people, there's nothing gendered about this. If you're sober and trying to get a sober person to make a bad choice, that's unethical. Sex is not someone doing something to you. It's a two-way action. Drunk people are still perfectly capable of saying no to it as well as enthusiastic consent. In your mind, what happens if two drunk people have sex? Have they both raped each other?

You're conflating being drunk and being passed out. But the pizza example still works! If on the way home, I pass out and somebody takes the money from my pocket and leaves me a slice of pizza, then I have been robbed. I didn't decide to buy the pizza, someone forced me to. But if I was drunk, I still had a choice. The alcohol just lowered my inhibitions and made me hungry, but I didn't have to get pizza.

Sure, it's different, but the same principle still applies: you're responsible for what you do when you're drunk. If you make a poor choice, whether that's to buy overpriced pizza or have unprotected sex, that's still on you.

What feminist talking points are people repeating? To me, acknowledging when the other side has a good point means I trust you more. Because it shows that you're actually thinking about the debate rather than rejecting all other ideas off hand. I'm a left winger interested in men's rights and there are plenty of us. It's just that many are being pushed away because so many liberals favor women to the point of discrimination.

You can absolutely consent while drunk. If I'm wasted and I get a slice of pizza on the walk home, did the pizza shop rob me? They took my money while my mind was in an altered state, so that's robbery, right? No. I made the decision to drink and then I drunkenly made the decision to get pizza. It might have been a bad decision and I might regret it the next day, but no one forced me.

I certainly saw examples of men being shut down when they tried to speak up. It was things like: "that really sucks, but this is about women, so listen rather than speak". The feminist rhetoric was that men already had the power to come forward, so if they waited for MeToo, they were trying to shift the conversation away from women. I also remember there was a female speaker at a MeToo rally that had been to prison for raping (and killing) a man.

I don't even know what this means. Yes, men make more money because they work longer hours, take more risky and unpleasant jobs, and stay in the workforce. But studies have actually shown that women spend more money.
