I've seen a lot of overweight women in relationships, walking around holding hands with their partners very recently. And I've lived ins several states I also have seen a lot of fit girls stay single and engage in hookup culture. I think the biggest difference is the comfort one has with being single and mingling vs. the need for somethign more long term and secure. Maybe attachment theory comes into play
