The sixth factor of the dost test is "Whether the visual depiction is intended or designed to elicit a sexual response in the viewer." if it's being traded to jerk it to, I'd call that intent.

Im not any kind of lawyer, I know the the law was being broken because there were pictures of sexualized little kids and much worse being traded over PMs. If reddit drew the line at illegality, and trading pictures to masturbate to is illegal, and that's what we know was happening because there's proof, then what the fuck? How is this not against the law by that logic? Or at LEAST gross enough that you wouldn't want it on your site? There's something seriously wrong with at least most of the adm…

And if I had a bunch of people on a website trading scans from those and talking about what a nice ass that twelve year old has I'd ban them in a heartbeat because they're still breaking the law, or at least being terribly creepy. Reddit just loves its pedos though. VA has done what, three highly popular amas? This place is in love with kid fucking. Also for real are you kennyg Edit: seriously of you're familiar with dost than you should understand how much context plays in. It's the same reason…

Dost test, look it up, still illegal, still doesn't explain why the reddit admins are bffs with The Biggest Pedo. This is also without getting into the people trading your "real," "illegal" cp through private messages here which we also have proof of. Like I said, 4chan makes an effort to be proactive, reddit doesn't give a fuck until forced to by Anderson Cooper or whoever, its hard to say reddit has any kind of high ground, morally or legally. Also are you by any chance famed internet pederast…

4chan has a better track record on moderation than reddit does. At least they ban their child pornographers over there. Here they call him violentacrez and he's an internet celebrity.

Would you please stop taking real issues and twisting them into mra talking points? This is a homeless issue, not a mens' issue

This is the mens' rights movement? You hollered at a strange woman out a car window at night and you're mad that she didn't like that? Holy fuck dude get more entitled.

A thousand people is barely a sample. 75 I think is classified as a mid-sized get together. It's ridiculous to do a sample that size

Sample sizes top out at a thousand and the daily mail to boot. Nice.

using a word that that slave owner used while brutalizing someone who JUST SO HAPPENS to share skin color with the slave? that guy would have to be some kind of crazy racist to get mad at you for that

I mean in an ideal world we'd all be smashing the kyriarchy as egalitarian siblings free to do what we felt like, but that's not the world as it stands. So far, feminism has a dialect, a little bit of cultural momentum, and a generally pretty good, if overbroad, message that most people can agree with if packaged correctly (dont say feminism). It is inclusive even to cisgendered white dude idiots like me. The mens' rights movement, in contrast, seems to be mostly reactionary, with a few very val…

Maybe I don't understand, is that somehow an option? Are you a brilliant doctor with an exciting new procedure? Because to my knowledge, that is a fantasy hypothetical that adds nothing to the discussion other than more vague ideas that the women are fucking us somehow. It isn't constructive, it's just spiteful and dumb.

Feminism is a men's movement too, I want to smash that patriarchy so that I can know how to sew and cook and not catch shit for it. It's nice to run into other non-crazies, good talk.

Different people react differently. MRA is really painful to read for feminists for a lot of reasons (you have no idea how often we come so close to agreeing!). Atheism is painful too, but only because I'm an atheist and feel like they're running down the word. Also I upvote the fuck out of misgynistic horrors so as to expose them to more people and hopefully make people think, that's the only way this stuff is going to get beaten. A bunch of dudes at +2 get their shit reinforced, whereas if the…

Cool one of those is what we were talking about, and that's the mens' reproductive options. There's a bowl of free condoms for you at any planned parenthood (gasp! Federal money!), or any gay bar, or sex shop, and they can also be purchased for basically no money wherever products are sold. It's not a big deal. He can separate ejaculation from pregnancy by practicing safe sex or getting a vasectomy (which there should totally be government money to pay for, I agree), and your odds go way up if y…

I'm a feminist here specifically in order to discuss and troll, and this is what that usually looks like. I don't think the false flag posts are as common as people here want to think, and even if they were, they're an awesome opportunity to publically rebuke terrible shit or at least start some dialogue. For the most part, though, the reddit is coming from inside the house.

To be fair to the splc, anything with "group" in the name is gonna be a community. I think MRAs have a few really valid points (prison rape is my favorite example), but you have to admit that this community does a terrible job at self-policing and ridiculing wingnuts. Not even censorship, but just the odd "lol really bro" when someone says something dumb would really help. I see where they splc is coming from for sure, even though it's not a reflection on every last person here.

I didn't speak accurately, "acting like a hate group" would be closer to what I meant, not to call them literal white supremacists.

If you read the article, they do have a stack of examples of dudes running around pretty much acting like nazis. I'm not saying that's everybody, but I can see where you'd see those examples and draw some conclusions.

well, in the context of what I wrote, men aren't deprived birth control for any reason, we don't get a lot of forced ultrasounds, and miscarriages aren't a huge health or legal factor for us either. When presented with that list of problems women are having with reproductive rights, your response seems to be "good, let them see what it's like." The thing is, it isn't like that for us, never has been, and it shouldn't be for them either. Even if women somehow had more rights than men (they fuckin…

Again, who cares? That isn't what's happening.
/r/MensRights08/03/12 07:24 PM

Who cares? Nothing like that is happening here. A guy on reddit said that one retail chain hires women more than men and then didn't substantiate it and you're all getting excited about a chance to feel oppressed. I'm sure someday you'll make it to the front of the GameStop, DudeRosa, and I can't wait until you're free at last, but in the meantime this is hilarious.
