Are you saying that you have oneitis with your ideal imaginary woman? Maybe you can settle for a girl who will role play as Errata instead...

I went through this exactly. Although I hope OP doesn't take this as "hey man, be yourself. Chicks dig robots". They don't. And that's not really him anyway. He's suppressing a large part of himself and it's biting him in the ass, and I think he knows it. Analysis dwells in the past and dreams of the future, but forsakes living in the present. What good is your life if you spend all of it trying to make tomorrow better, without ever stopping to just enjoy today? This is very nicely said.

I used to have anger issues, and that's what made me like you. That, and my obsession to control everything. I don't want to give you my life story, so I'll cut to the solution with a simple exercise that instantly helped my social skills (and outlook on life): Focus on trying to care about other people, learning more about them, what they like to do, and understanding where they are coming from without judging (both guys and girls). The main purpose of this is to get you out of your own head. T…

Just roll with your emotions dude. I used to be the same way as you are, but since I let go of all that analyzing and intellectualizing muddling my brain, my life instantly became better. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you highly value intellect. You just don't think emotions are reliable. Well, the truth is that our emotional part of our brain has been around a lot longer than the parts that invented vibrating dildos. It's much faster and learns without us even knowing that it's lea…

Wow, you must have been a real life stick man.... I'm the same weight as you are and 4 inches shorter. =x Thanks for sharing. It puts the importance of working out into perspective.

I initially planned to read "Emotional Intelligence" after "Social Intelligence", but I ended up getting distracted by other psychology and PUA stuff. Now that you've reminded me, I'm probably going to pick it up... Thanks so much for the book recommendations. Half the trouble is knowing what to look for. CBT to eliminate blocks is definitely something I could use right now, not only for relationships, but for my career. Thanks again!

wouldn't you agree living your life by a script is not conducive to a happy life? That's a poor way to do it anyway. You only need that to fall back on. The main goal is to be free-flowing and improvisational. If Seddit is giving anyone the idea that they need a script, I don't think they're reading Seddit properly.

I actually read the book you mentioned (Social Intelligence by Daniel Coleman). It was lent to me by my boss who, I think, was trying to tell me something. And that's the book that started it all for me.

he might learn how to counter that martial art Lmao. Also, he might study tapes of your fights months in advance in preparation of your big showdown, right?

Because you're looking at it as "being a jerk" and not a shit test, which is what it is. If I react as a jerk, I'm going to be low value, and I'm cool with my height so I don't need to lash back that way. I've won over girls who couldn't get over my height at first by ignoring comments about my height. I'm just wondering about some creative replies that don't make me sound like a bitch. ;)

How about when a chick calls me short, or "shorty". Any ideas?

I've been having having more or less the same trouble as OP. I read this advice yesterday and followed it last night. I ended up going home with a very attractive woman and let's just say neither of us got any sleep. Thanks Nettik, you filled in the missing gap to my game. =)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
