They suggest you shouldn't offer a ride to kids. Big fucking difference. Calling a kid's parents, school or the police and waiting with them in a public place is helping them but obviously a lot different than telling them to get in a car with you.

Do you know literature at all? Virginia Woolf, Jane Austen, George Eliot, Iris Murdoch, the Brontë sisters... all have arguably had as much impact on the medium as Tolstoy. There are plenty of other fields of endeavour where women have not historically made a huge impact, but fiction writing is not one of them.

The title is misleading. They're not "banned" from running for office. They're just not going to be selected for those seats by the Labour party. By this definition, anyone who hasn't been personally selected by the Labour party has been "banned" from running for office. You might not like the way Labour selects its candidates, but it has nothing to do with democracy, since they have always been privately selected by the party and its constituency branches.
