Same man, I always felt the fan base was very niche. Sometimes when I am doing some late night work, I pull up the ambience noises from the games. The atmosphere set by those games was absolutely incredible. No game has ever matched it.

Depends on the bomber and its rate of climb. Usually takes about 5 minutes to get to that altitude and cruising speed.

I should note, I play Realistic or Simulator battles mostly: ​ If you are trying to AF bomb, AA is less likely to hit you at about 17K FT alt. Anything lower you are likely to be blasted out of the sky as that AI AA is has absolute bullshit accurate aim. ​ As for normal base bombing, I try to climb to 15k FT alt as its less likely to see enemies intercept at that alt (depending on rank and battle tier). ​ As much as I love bombing in War Thunder, its sadly pretty neglected and usually a one way …

For real though, War Thunder got me hardcore into mechanics of aviation, ships, and tanks. Started RC flying because of it. Absolute wonderful game, the sound of bomber engines is always soothing to me lol.
