Note for the Moderators: While this is technically against the rules of the reddit, on account of it concerning physical looks, it follows the spirit of the rules. A clarification in regards to the physical looks rules in a Seddit Rules comment thread by moderator u/recyclablebanthas says: It's been done to death and there don't need to be any more posts on it because nothing new has been discovered under the sun in this. This, I believe, is massively different from any previous post on the topi…

SO!!! The first answer is that nothing is ever certain. She could like you, she could want you to think she likes you, she could want to associate with people who like you, she could be secretly a part of an underground cabal. Whatever. The second answer has its roots in adaptive body language. There is a certain group of behavior types that increase chances of survival, and which I call closing movements. These signify that there may be some physical threat present in the environment, but they …

WTH, too many fish metaphors in this thread. I had some nice fish the other day though, pan fried salmon. I added some honey-lemon glaze on top, and had a cooked asparagus salad with toasted pecans on the side.

It seems like my comment was pretty unclear. I hope the edit clarifies adequately. I'll try to answer your question anyways, though. This may come across as patronizing, because I'm going to answer your comment from the perspective that your appearance, personality, and social skills are worse than you realize. This is both to maximize the possibility that my response will address your current situation, and because people getting into pickup are often not as good as they think. Confidence in ap…

What do you mean by "originally"? I admit that I'm not familiar with the origins of the word, only how I have seen it used in PUA literature. Most references I have seen to orbiters comply with this definition, which I found through a quick google search for orbiter pua on hearing that others operated under what seemed to be a different definition. It seems to describe men who are kept around/keep themselves around "just in case", does it not? It seems like OP has recognized that his Justin Case…

Not sure about the relative importance of facial vs muscular aesthetics (I suspect it relies on personal preference between women), but I do know that a survey was conducted that you may find interesting. Women were asked to rate their favorite muscle groups to see developed on men; here are the results: 1) Glutes/butt 2) Abs (of course, this is more reliant on body fat percentage than muscle development) 3) Pectorals/chest 4) Biceps 5) Shoulders

It seems like I've been a humorless killjoy. I agree with you that the concept of vocabulary rules is pretty ridiculous (especially for something as counter-cultural as seduction), but my argument is more one of convention. There are countless articles, books, and other resources from the past several decades that use consistent shared vocabulary. The author's colloquial term is interesting, but by making the choice to not include or even recognize the term shared by millions of others, the auth…

Cold approach has always been looked down upon, as far as I'm aware. It's partially because of its birth from programs that purported to allow you to mind control women; and partially because it's typically associated with inexperienced PUAs, who are getting into seduction to learn a base level of social skills. The mind control bit is seen as both pseudoscience and straight up wrong, since it claims to make people do things against their will or better judgement. Frankly, it's ridiculous, becau…

I think the term you're looking for is "orbiter." Please don't make new terms for vocabulary that already exists; it can make it harder for newcomers to find resources. Edit: I see that OP has edited his post to include the common term. Much appreciated.

Yes, my overview was geared strongly towards mainstream (American) fashion, which I assumed was what OP was asking about. I'm aware that there are important exceptions: Foreign dress styles - The fundamentals will remain similar, but the specific ways in which they must be applied will likely vary in important ways. These differences may reflect differing cultural values. Niche dress styles - Sub- and counter- cultures within a culture will often change their dress style to demonstrate physicall…

It's definitely possible to get laid while dressed homeless, especially at an event like Burning Man where dressing in that way is practically the norm. But it seems like OP is here because he would like to change something about himself, rather than to pretend his values are something other than what they are. He seems to be disappointed in himself, and the deficiency caused by doing less than he could, and suffering from a cognitive dissonance caused by taking actions--wearing clothes--that do…

It seems like you and OP got a little heated in there. I thought, from his clarification, that OP was orienting towards dressing more equivalently to his true economic value. It seems like dressing real to yourself is something you'd like greatly to stress. OP should certainly be real to himself, and his ability to spend on fashion. I do agree from what seems to be his mindset that working on his internal game would be a great boon to him, but OP should not be discouraged from improving any aspe…

This whole sub's point is to increase men's ability to seduce women. Dressing better will increase both women's perception of you, and your perception of yourself, thereby increasing both confidence and women's frame of your scarcity and social value. Certainly, looks aren't everything, but even the most charismatic man in the world will have difficulties if he's dressed like he's homeless.

Something I missed - Avoid buying based on brand alone. Often, such purchases will be sold for more than their true value, on account of brand recognition. I'm sure you're already aware, for example, of the ridiculous market for Supreme products, where low thread count cotton tees are being sold for hundreds of dollars.

To start, it will be important for you to develop an eye for the composition, construction, and cohesion of your outfits. Composition - Look for quality cloths, minimizing the amounts of synthetic materials in fabric blends. This doesn't mean you should wear all silk, just because it's expensive, but rather you should look for comfortable blends of natural materials that breath well and hang aesthetically on your body. The thread count should be high, and your clothes should have a good thicknes…

Keep expanding your knowledge. All techniques have weaknesses, be they RSD, Models, or Mystery Method. As you learn from more and more authors, you'll be able to understand the fundamental flaws in each of them, and how they do and don't work for you, and create a more complete method that's more personalized to you. Of course. That's what the section on changing the subject is all about. It's what "Reminds me of..." style statements are all about. They allow you to change the topic or add to the conversation without looking like you're explicitly and actively doing so, and while also leaving a route back to your counterpart's topic should they choose to take it. It allows conversations to cover a hugely increased number of topics, because since your counterpart doesn't know exactly how your mind works, you …

The issue with text-only communication, and the reason PUAs so often recommend that you use DMs/texting for coordination only, is (whether they realize it or not) because of something called the 7-38-55 rule. The rule, which was researched extensively, states that only 7% of communication is expressed through words. The other 93%? Tone and body language, respectively. Neither of these are available through texting. When you use text as your primary form of communication, you're limiting yourself…

Of course. You should never try to pretend you perfectly understand your counterpart. You aren't them, so you could never understand perfectly what they think of a given scenario. They will recognize that and reject you, if you attempt such a pretense. Instead, you should imply that you understand their thought process by verbalizing in a friendly manner the underlying emotions and ideas they have expressed. This will validate them, since they will then consider you in agreement--agreement is, a…

It sounds like that must feel very natural and organic for you. It's less than optimal, though, because saying that you can't imagine your counterpart's feelings will stunt usage of the law of similarity and feelings of empathy. Your counterpart may feel good that their experience is unique and noteworthy, but this phrasing doesn't allow them to feel as though you fully understand their experience. Rather than directly express that you cannot imagine (ergo: cannot empathize with, breeding dissim…

That's right! This was something I was considering adding as the third conversational key. It would've been a sort of mix between the tactical empathy presented by Chris Voss in Never Split the Difference and the concept of guiding your counterpart on an emotional journey that Ross Jeffries stumbled across and integrated into Speed Seduction. "right!!!???" is definitely a response you should be seeking from your counterpart--it's a more emotional, more relevant to personal conversation form of t…

The principles presented in this post are applicable to nearly any conversation you might find yourself having, from discussions with teachers to romantic dates. In the context of seduction, these techniques are most important during periods of fluffing (small talk), to build comfort and rapport.

u/rafr256 is definitely correct here. I'd like to elaborate a little, though. It's optimal to DHV when the conversation naturally turns to you, but that shouldn't be the primary goal when talking about yourself, especially if you've already DHV'd a little. Better is to focus on taking your counterpart on an emotional trip, using expressive language (hate, love, disgust, etc.) to trigger emotions in them. The SS users from the early 2000s stumbled across this concept with NLP, thinking that it wa…

Very close--visualization works best when using a specific situation that would naturally trigger the mental state that you're trying for. For example, a person nervous about a presentation might visualize himself into confidence by imagining everyone in the audience applauding him thunderously. Or while opening a set, you might visualize a calm state by summoning memories of napping in the warm sun. Of course, nothing will be able to allow you your sense of perfectly collected reason that you f…

I've said this in a comment before, but PUA is an information hazard. Many PUA methods lose effectiveness when you haven't internalized all of their principles and techniques, which means that unless you have begun to use the methods automatically, it can actually make you less effective in the field. It seems like this is the reason there has been such an uprising in methods in favor of cultivating mental states rather than the procedural methods of the past. In a fast paced social situation, i…

The "get to know the person" part (known in the community as fluffing) is absolutely important to cold approaching. Fluffing builds comfort, humanizes you a bit. It's meant to help you keep your counterpart from thinking you're a sex-obsessed creep. Don't do too much of it, though, or you'll come off as AFC.

Visualizations. Visualizations, visualizations, visualizations. When I was starting to get into self-improvement, I felt I had nothing to be confident about. Then I read a book (The Charisma Myth) that said that I didn't need anything to be confident about. If you haven't already learned about visualizations, here's a quick rundown. Your brain is incapable of distinguishing between reality and imagination. Thus it follows, that if you imagine a situation that would give you confidence, you will …

The opinion opener is a classic technique that tends to yield great results. There's a lot of articles out there already that you can read about them, so I won't write a hugely in depth description here, but the premise is that because you're approaching with a specific reason unrelated to sex, it builds comfort with the target, as well as setting you aside from all the other drunk idiots, and potentially demonstrating higher value if the correct question is presented. There's a concept called the 10,000 hour rule--you've probably heard of it. It has a caveat, though, that many people don't know about. The 10,000 hour rule says that you can master any skill with so many hours of practice, but if two people practice the same skill for the same amount of time, one may end up better than the other. Why is this? The secret lies in the quality of the practice. If you were to hit the gym every day, but never push your limits, you would almost certainly never achieve…

This is pretty accurate. If I were to add one thing, I would say that it's important to recognize that not all hobbies are created equal. Common hobbies of more popular men typically already have this positive connotation surrounding them, whereas the hobbies shared by men with poor social skills typically have a pretty harsh stigma surrounding them. That doesn't mean OP is wrong. You'll just have to work a lot harder with your emotive qualification on any stigmatized hobbies you have.

This is completely wrong. Many of the people discovering this forum don't know or understand what is holding them back. For many years, I didn't realize that my greasy, unwashed hair was grossing people out, so I literally could not change myself for the better in that way. You can't improve yourself if you don't know what to improve, and many people have incomplete knowledge. The advice you see in PUA forums is obtained from a huge number of sources, and confirmed through personal experience. Most PUAs seem to read books written by other PUAs to start out, though there is another faction that starts from a slightly deeper level with books on body language and general charisma. If you want to start from charisma, read The Charisma Myth. If you want to start from body language, read What Every Body Is Saying. If you want to start from books written by PUAs, most people…

It feels monolithic, the time these things seem to take. Pickup should be about your feelings, making you feel good. One of its core principles is staying relaxed. If it doesn't let you feel good, it might be advisable to develop your social value in ways that do. You can still learn pickup, if you're interested, if you think the skills could benefit you. But work on it casually, and only when you feel like it. One thing to keep in mind is that anxiety is very close to excitement. For example, m…

Your idea may be viable in the night scene where women are already dancing, and are dressed up. In daygame, women may not be comfortable with just dancing out of nowhere, and will likely think their outfit isn't something worth showing off. This will be taken by the woman as a high compliment, cancelling any negs or qualification you've successfully implemented.

1) Kino is incredibly important. It's how we signal to each other that we care. 2) You shouldn't be using kino right off the bat, women will find that creepy. But after she's said something funny, or interesting, it's entirely normal. Just give her arm a light touch for 1-2 seconds as you laugh. 3) Make sure to smile, when you kino. 4) Kino doesn't release tension, it builds it. 5) If you want to screen harder, qualify and neg her more.

Get off of chat as soon as possible. It's been researched, and people have found that only 7% of communication is delivered through words (7-38-55 rule). This is a good thought. There's a caveat I'd like to add, though. You should be trying to fuck it up in a controlled way. Say to yourself, I'm going to over-neg this girl. Or, I'm going to run game on two girls in this set at the same time, but not on the others. This will enhance the lessons you learn, because you will know exactly what you did wrong and how girls react to it. There's a pretty effective method I read about recently. You tell the target "Let's skip all the bullshit. How spontaneous are you?" This forces her to qualify herself to you. After she gives you her answer (which will almost always be something along the lines of "very spontaneous"), you ask about three things she'd like to do if you and her met up, then set up the meeting. Call her ugly. Okay, maybe you shouldn't just walk up and say, "You're ugly," but you should never compliment a woman as an opener (especially on her looks). It's the most generic, boring thing in the world. This is even more true the more attractive a woman is; an HB10 has heard compliments on everything about her countless times, and will count you among the horny hordes when she hears any such thing. What an interesting case! It seems like what you want to do here is the inverse of seduction. You can't present yourself poorly to decrease her interest, since that might cause issues at work. You can't get into a relationship with her. You can't stop encountering her, since she's your coworker's wife. You can't just give her a bunch of negs, since that would possibly cause drama resulting in your termination at work. I think the best avenue for you to take would be giving her negative body lang…

It seems like the reason that the mods don't want discussions about sex on the seduction reddit is because if we allow it, the page could become dominated by people asking for sex advice or sharing sex stories. How exactly did I change once I put this method into practice? With the visualizations, there was an instant confidence boost, though I had a little trouble with maintaining my cognitive state (this went away fairly easily, with practice). OP might want to respond to this, but I though I'd weigh in as well. There are two ways you can create more confident body language: visualization and training. Visualization is where you take advantage of the fact that your brain doesn't distinguish between reality and imagination by imagining yourself in a confident situation. This will make you feel more confident, and your body language will change to reflect that. Alternatively, you can study body language and train yourself during every ho…

That seems about right. It's fairly good, introduces a time constraint and implies developed skills, but it makes it clear from the start that you're hitting on her. Also, it doesn't seem like there's much opportunity for a neg, so it likely won't work well on high HB targets.

You ought to develop some openers. Pre-developed openers are just a crutch, obviously, but until you're able to create them on the fly, take time to develop questions or comments--typically questions--that can create conversation. I have a friend (a natural) who makes a lot of bizarre conversation with people, and then when he makes an approach he asks a question based on his earlier conversations. One of his favorites right now is "Hey, do I look Austro-Hungarian to you?" He says these in a ver…

A good question. And the answer is--about the same. The characters, and dominant folks in general, follow the same rules whether they're being attacked or with friends. It's part of their ability to remain unfazed. Certainly, people in general do relax their behaviors when with friends, and dominant people should, too, though only slightly--you don't want to signal a lack of rapport. But the confident, dominant demeanor of people like this comes from their inability to be fazed, whether they're …

Non-reaction is huge in projecting dominance. I'll say it again. Being non-reactive is what leads most people to be assumed dominant in any given situation. If you study shows like the James Bond series or The Witcher, the main characters are seen as dominant--and, therefore, manly--because they show through their body language and calm, short words that in any given situation they are unworried, unconcerned, in control. The issue you might run into with a non-reactive body language and mindset …

Go read The Charisma Myth, chapter 5. It has an excellent section on visualizations, which are perfect to resolve anxieties.
