I’d say that’a totally fair. I wasn’t aware of that attitude on here, but if it is then you’re right. I am also biased in my views on the subject, as I have very two close male relatives whose (healthy) unborn babies were aborted for convenience against their will and without any say in the matter. They were profoundly affected by it, and I find their exclusion from any kind of online discussion on the subject to be appalling - especially by bull-ringed blue-hairs who don’t even have any childre…

Well firstly I wouldn’t be sleeping with someone that early on in the relationship. Secondly, even if we were, this would be a hard no from me. I’d also end the relationship. I’m not comfortable with sleeping or being in a relationship with a bisexual man, under any circumstances - end of discussion. Super straight (and proud of it) the way bébé 😉😂

Now you’re inventing things that I never said. When did I suggest society would collapse? Please copy and paste the quote - I’d love to see it. This is a complete waste of time. If you can’t even be bothered to read a short response properly, then I have zero interest in continuing on in any kind of conversation with you.

Jesus - it’s not a literal comparison. Try to think just a little bit harder, will you? The point is that what seems insignificant now will have a larger cumulative effect over time. I should have known better than to expect more than entry-level critical thinking on Reddit. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I wouldn’t consider nursing or child care or caring for old people to be glamorous jobs. They all involve dealing with other people’s blood and faeces and urine.

You have to think on a grand scale. Look at the explosion in autism and developmental disorders. Over a decade or more without specialist care, that becomes a huge problem. China thought female infants were so worthless, they routinely forced abortions and infanticides for decades. Now they have such a shortage of women for Chinese men to marry, they’re importing brides from Korea. As a previous commenter noted - you won’t know the knock-on effect until years down the line when the culmination o…

Firstly, women make for phenomenal engineers, scientists, business owners, etc etc. I am a highly educated woman, and would never give up my career. Now let’s put that aside for a moment. Women generally tend towards professions requiring higher levels of empathy and verbal communication skills - teaching, nursing, childcare, etc. If women were to leave the workforce entirely, men would have to fill those roles. Roles to which some men might gravitate, but not the majority. To entice more men to…

“I also think, as this page often fails to understand, that men think women love to live in a world where they can have random sex with random men and how lucky they are to have that.” Perhaps it’s because they think we think like they think. Women’s brains operate differently, and I’m not sure they fully appreciate that. They don’t believe this because they can’t comprehend a scenario in which she wouldn’t want attention or constant one-off sex, since they think that sounds awesome. Women are j…

What is your problem? Why are you like this? I’m sorry you are such an angry person, but you will not speak about him or my relationship in any which way. He was my first and only choice, and I love and cherish him above all men. Now go and fuck yourself, asshole. Clearly no one else will.

Terrible. It makes me really sad to think someone feels like that. I wrote my response to show empathy - my experiences may be a little different, but I wanted him to know I understood (at least a little bit) how he felt. You can express solidarity without being exactly the same. Women aren’t the bad guys here. There are many lovely ones who WILL date him (I am absolutely certain of it). They just take some time to find.

I think age and life-stage most definitely plays a part in it, for sure. Social media is also highly relevant, you’re correct.

That might well be true, but all I can tell you is that it definitely isn’t the case for me. I love my SO dearly and it has nothing at all to do with his appearance (though obviously to me he is perfect). I didn’t choose him for his looks. I chose him because he saw me when no one else did, and he never changed. He is the purest person I have ever met and he makes me feel like the most special woman on the planet - and he always has, since the day I met him. He has a hideous (I mean, it’s diabol…

Imagine the difference in your body going from say, 16% BF to 12%. They’re both objectively athletic and lean. But 12% commands power and awe. You know exactly what I’m talking about, don’t you? Now let me tell you, that was the difference for me before and after I lost my final 10lbs. At that point I was no longer overweight, but the difference in how other people perceived me was the most significant out of the entire weight loss journey. It’s not a huge amount of weight, but the difference in…

It’s a rush when it first happens, but you’re right - it just didn’t fundamentally change my life the way I thought it would (from a dating perspective. From a health perspective it was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Yay achievement buddies!)

I never had a problem finding someone to date in terms of being picky about their looks, if that’s what you mean. I’m not a particularly looks-oriented person. None of my previous boyfriends look anything alike - and I found different things about them extremely attractive. I did find that my responses (from all men - not just the stereotypically “hot” ones) shot through the roof post weight loss. Excuse my language, but you can’t fuck a pretty face. This isn’t a dump on men. This is just statin…

Well I certainly enjoyed it at first, I won’t lie. And actually I was single at the time - I began dating my SO shortly after that (but we had a history years before then, so we’d known each other a long time already). I just found it a little hard to reconcile the feeling of being wanted by these men, knowing some would likely not have looked at me twice even just 10lbs heavier - and while really I don’t think that’s their fault (and it doesn’t make them bad people), it was a little off-putting…

I’m a woman, and I feel like I’m well-placed to answer this, because I’m in the somewhat unique position of having been on both sides of this divide. This is because whilst I’ve always been pretty, I also used to be fat. When I was fat, I was routinely ignored in favour of plainer girls with better bodies (which is fair enough - it bothered me, but I also wasn’t mad at the men who were not attracted to my body). So I dropped the weight, got into peak physical condition, and then received whole c…

Look - I’m not going to tell you what to do, but I’ll tell you about my experiences. There were 2-3 instances a number of years ago where in my dating history, I was chatting to men whom I quickly realised (for whatever reason) were not going to be a good fit. With some, I came to that realisation after a few weeks. With others, it was literally in a matter of days. So you couldn’t call any of them serious flirtations; let alone relationships. You would imagine there would be very little emotion…

Well you’re going to laugh when you hear this, because of the stereotypes, but I’m Irish 😉😂 And the answer is no, surprisingly. My husband drinks more than me when he drinks, but it’s also rare. I really don’t mind if my partner drinks (he does have a beer at home now and then and it’s not a problem at all - he’s a grown man and he can do what he likes). Our patterns are compatible, if that makes sense. He never loses control. He knows when to stop, and he doesn’t get messy. I find that attracti…

Agree. I very rarely drink, and binge-drinking doesn’t interest me at all. It would never occur to me to buy beer or wine with my groceries. Therefore, I wouldn’t date or marry a big drinker. It’s just too big of a divide to me. Some things you can’t overlook. That’s one for me.

Without seeing you, it’s hard to help to the best of my ability, but I can give you some basics. Even without amazing bone structure, the most average girls can look great - the secret is grooming. 1) Hair. Get a good cut that flatters your face shape. Don’t have the length at jaw level - I’d suggest shoulder (ask your hairdresser). Add layers. If you’re mousy, get a colour. 2) Nails - make sure they’re always manicured. I don’t see 5 as an insult. To me, 5 is about average. 3 or a 4 to me isn’t something I can just describe without seeing someone in front of me. It’s very subjective, you know? It’s the sum of all parts. A person can have some objectively nice features, but which just don’t go together well as a whole. Is there a celebrity you can think of whom you would rate a 3/4? Perhaps we can compare notes.

I was careful in my wording. I made it very clear that salary was not relevant. Therefore, your mention of it is moot. Posting opinions is perfectly acceptable. This was clearly stated at the beginning of my comment. That you chose to misread it is on you. This is not my vive voce. I don’t have to prove anything to you (or your brother) 😂 The fact that you feel the need to repeatedly and ardently defend his virility/sexual value to strangers on the internet though is…interesting.

If they were to turn someone they were interested down based on the personal preferences of another woman they’ve never met on the internet, I’d be more concerned with their lack of a spine. But that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Did you read my comment? I made it quite clear that income was not relevant to my feelings on the subject. How is telling me your brothers salary in anyway relevant to me? What are you actually contributing to this conversation? I’m not talking about your brother.

Good for him? My presences are mine. They’re not going to hold through for everyone, and that’s fine. I find it fascinating that people are so self-obsessed on the internet they take the conversations of strangers and make it personal, as though I were attacking your brother. It’s so odd.

No one has ever suggested that her body is not hers. You’re attempting to twist the parameters of the argument so it can fit your ideals. The body of the foetus is also not hers. By your own definition, she has no right to endanger it. Is that the route you really want to go down? Men have a right to a say in whether their child lives or dies. It’s wrong to exclude them from even online discussion about it. There is no justification for it.

Understandable. You’ve just made the exact argument I make about trans activists degrading me down to my bodily functions. And as I’m about to tell you most women are like me and not misandrist assholes, I secretly hope I’m right, or women are equally screwed. Bottom line is equality means equality. No matter what you are. High-five 😉👋

I don’t agree. Being fat is not a permanent state of being. I’ve been there. Now I’m in the gym 5-6 days a week. All it takes is the decision to change.

It’s tough. I mean you’re right, but I’m a little hesitant to lean into it too much because none of us are perfect, right? Accidents do also happen. I’m thankful I’ve never been placed in that position to be honest.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 12:46 PM

Women do this too (I’ve been guilty of it). It’s pretty standard break-up behaviour.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 12:44 PM

My husband and other male friends have all said this. There’s a gym culture for men that’s super great. It’s a bonding thing. How many times have you seen it happen where some chubby new guy comes into the weight room all quiet and downcast and some of the buffest dudes will go out of their way to hype him up and help him out? I can’t even count. I’m a woman. I fully endorse this statement. My husband swears by it.

Being fat doesn’t make you a loser. Giving up on yourself does. If you never lost a pound, but you still strove to better yourself in some small way every day, that’s all it has to be. Show up for yourself. Don’t you think you deserve that?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 12:38 PM

It helps you feel good about yourself though. I’m a woman who lifts, and I’d never give it up for anything. I love it. And literally everyone else at the gym always looks pumped to be there too.

I view those women as being extremely…extreme. I have never met a woman like that in real life. The closest I have ever come to that was maybe on Twitter or something. I would be surprised if they were anything other than a tiny minority, tbh. I just don’t know anyone who behaves or thinks like that outside of the internet. I live in London 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well I’m happily taken, so it doesn’t really matter I guess ☺️ Interesting question. To answer it, I would say no. That wouldn’t be. If I am being truly honest I’m most attracted to what I view as being hyper-masculine traits. To me, being an owner shows more power. That’s more attractive. In addition, I have quite a few gay male friends and they almost all work as nurses or teachers, so I now also associate those professions with non-romantic partners. I hold post-graduate degrees. Yes I would agree with that. I’m trying very hard to separate my own personal feelings about it from what I believe to be fair and just, I suppose. I’ll admit, I find the prospect of abortion deeply upsetting. That’s colouring my views on the subject quite a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/21 08:54 AM
16

Yeah, I can see it from that point of view too. Deception like that is incredibly wrong. Leading on from that, I guess for me the main concern is how we’re all so focused exclusively on what women want and it’s verboten to even invite men into the conversation. As a woman, this really irritates me. It’s patently sexist and unfair. I don’t see why men’s rights and wishes are not respected more when it comes to this. I’m Irish. We now have legalised abortion in Ireland since that case (I was incorrect in that she did not bleed out, but rather died of septicaemia as a result of being denied the abortion following the onset of a miscarriage), but only up to a certain point in pregnancy and only if two doctors agree in writing that the pregnancy is a threat to the mother’s health. I am not sure if the policy will get more extreme in the future, but I believe the policy we have now allows for medical emergencies…

I’m from a country where a woman bled out on an operating table because it was illegal to abort and the medical staff’s hands were tied. Had they broken the law, she would still be alive. She didn’t do anything wrong - it was an emergency. It was a wanted pregnancy. But she’s still dead. This is why I don’t think the state should have those kinds of powers over the people, under any circumstances, ever. It’s obscene. As to your other point - look, I’m really not for abortion. This is a really extreme view. There are some instances in which it is better to terminate the pregnancy for the sake of the health of either the mother or the foetus. I don’t think you can make blanket statements like that. No two cases are the same - and I say that as someone who would never personally abort, unless it were a life or death situation. Some perspective is needed here.

The idea that men don’t get a say in this really bothers me. I’ll start by saying: I don’t care if other women have abortions. Does the concept of abortion bother me? Yes, quite a lot. But do I feel like it’s my place to prevent other people from doing it? No. It also does not affect me. I just have to be honest. But if you’re a man and you helped create that baby, it’s 50% yours too, and it does affect you. So should women be allowed to just take 100% of the decision making? I don’t know that I…

A woman worth having won’t treat you like an option. It will take you a long time to find one like that, but they do exist. Don’t settle for someone who’s settling for you - it really is better to be alone than do that. Self-respect is invaluable. No one is worth losing it over.

I was 21. Not religious, not against pre-marital sex (though I was extremely ambitious career-wise, and had a dread of becoming accidentally pregnant and ‘ruining’ my life - I obviously don’t think that now).
