If a couple has found a structure wherein one person is the primary 'breadwinner', then absolutely alimony has a place, especially where without it the non-primary 'breadwinner' might be unfairly disadvantaged in the short term. I see little to no need for Alimony more than 4-5 years, however - even that should ideally be sufficient to allow someone to take some level of education and to reestablish themselves. 7	MRAs Debunked - An Addendum to Suicide Statistics The TL;DR I got from this is that women self-report self-harm far more than men, but men still commit suicide by a huge margin over women.
