Was in therapy when this was happening to me. From what I was told, write it down after you wake up, in general though, you went through what many will agree is a traumatic event. Your dreams are a way that your subconscious is working everything out.

You need to protect yourself, man. I will never be an advocate for a divorce, but this kind of stuff is what blind sides a man. You trying to make it work is completely understandable.. Talk to a lawyer just in case. I was a shell of a man at the end of mine, still trying to make things work. I held on to that concept right up until she had her mother come move her out of my house. The only reason I found out was because I came home to sign for a UPS package of all things.. Don't be me, and god …

How long does it need to take if you don't agree, I already have my non-negotiables which I already know she wont agree to because she's a greedy bitch. I'm not trying to waste my whole day on it.

This is the kind of shit I read which makes me resent the government. Military are seen as cash cows to these judges, because you have a stable job and benefits they can come after it fully aware you have to pay. Hope all works out for you man, if I was in that situation I'd rather spend money on a good lawyer who'd defend me in court over this than continue giving an uncontested penny to some greedy bitch who didn't deserve it. Pardon my french.

One of the best things a wise man told me when mine started 8 months ago, take a long look at yourself and the things you gave up for this relationship and do those things. Put your feet on the table, stay up a little late playing video games with the boys or watching a show she hated. Its difficult to see right now but you're a man, reclaim it. Hell DL a dating app or two after you file (and ask a lawyer about the legality of it, state laws differ). Like others have said, get real familiar with…

Work on yourself in the marriage, learn to be a better person (in ways YOU know are needed/mutual) and hope she does the same. Rinse/repeat this until someone either passes away from old age and a long marriage, or leaves. I have hope for you OP, not all marriages end badly, and not all women are terrible.

Divorce is hard man. You are often having to emotionally "sprint" to get to a point she has probably been walking towards for much longer.. You aren't alone though man, we all have your back here like everyone has said. This community of gents is probably my favorite sub on Reddit for that reason. If you need any advice let us know!

Deleted my previous, my red flags went up on your behalf rereading this. Prepare yourself for a blindside. I hope to God it never happens to you. My STBXW pulled the same shit on me, we were doing better, laughing again, then one day I saw her moving half my shit out in a Uhaul. Kissed her goodbye for work that morning. Prepare prepare prepare. Go talk to a lawyer as well man, getting caught off guard is the worst position you could be in.

The fear of the unknown often keeps us from going outside of what is comfortable. Keep your emotions in check, you will be happier, you will make more money, and those successes that come will be yours to take credit for. Also be open to her and stick to your guns about it, tell her how you feel, and come up with a plan before you file, the claws WILL come out, don't stoop to the same level of bullshit I see way too many STBXWs putting these awesome gentlemen through.

She divorced me (still in the process, hopefully not for much longer..) Looking back on everything though the constant fighting on a daily basis almost. It was easier to count the days we didn't argue, even over stupid small shit. I felt like nothing I did was good enough for her. I absolutely know I had my own contributions to what led her down the path she took. In my mind they were resolved through therapy years before. The end felt like her picking through what was left from a shell of mysel…

Imo marriage is nothing but financial twister. If you love someone then great, stay with them, have that same 15 year anniversary if it works out, which I hope it does eventually for us all. But if it doesn't call that shit off and get on with your lives, nobody benefits from divorce except lawyers.

"Women are like hurricanes, when they come they're wild and wet, but when they leave they take your house and car with them" Plus the law feels more like "guilty until proven innocent" fuck marriage, date for a while, enjoy your fresh start. The whole concept of being legally binded to another person sounds more and more each day like the biggest crock of shit that we are fed when we all start the process of "soul searching" initially. P.S. - Stay away from military women, thank me later..

One of the most valuable things I've heard through my own divorce Im going through now is that she has probably been thinking about this for a while, enough time for her to cope with the loss and move on to something/someone else. Whereas you are now having to sprint to catch up emotionally. Fake it if you have to, and seek the improvement within yourself. Give her nothing else emotionally, don't message her or try to talk to her because it will not help. My STBXW pulled the similar shit on me, …

Don't beat yourself up, I haven't heard this as much but seek a therapist as well if possible. My STBXW left the house 3 weeks ago unannounced, and for the first 2 weeks all I did was plague myself with these kinds of questions. The best answer I came up with is maybe a little selfish, but it was her fault this ended, not mine. I continued, and still to this day strive to be a better man. Your biggest takeaways from this could be the lessons you learned from the marriage, and improvements you ma…

I disagree with "counselling being worthless". I think your marriage counselor is worthless and you should find a different one or keep looking. A GOOD marriage counselor will call both of yall on your own bullshit, then help give you steps to improve moving forward. Do I guarantee this will save a marriage, hell no, thats why Im here too going through this. The takeaways from it become personal at this point, at least for me now (hopefully you too, if you end up down this hellish path). I learn…
