Girl he hit the jackpot with you, marrying a 21 year old and not having to do anything to keep you. Don’t even think about trapping yourself with kids. You’re only 25 and will bounce back smarter and wiser. Divorce him asap. Your 20s are a very important time in a woman’s life when it comes to learning and defining her womanhood. Don’t waste it on a man that decides to take advantage of your youth in order to not do the self improvement that an older woman would require from him. At 39, that man…

Because a lot of men can’t take the subtle cues that tell them a woman isn’t interested. A lot of men have been brought up to believe that they can wear a woman down with enough “seduction” and game. So women -especially the ones who get hit on a lot, feel like they have no choice but to aggressively be mean about not being interested in a man’s advances. This comes with risk though because men do not take rejection on any level well. So, sometimes the woman has to be scary, mean and aggressive …

No. I can find a man attractive and not lust for him, because, like I said, the only man I desire is my husband.

Yes, even though my husband is extremely attractive. I remember seeing the most attractive guy on the street SINCE I met my husband, 12 years ago. Beautiful/attractive people are everywhere, it's stupid to think that suddenly everyone is invisible or ugly because you're in love with your husband. And lusting after them? Nope. The only man I desire is my husband, even when I notice a very handsome or hot man on the street.

I mean, he has a point. But putting your trust into a man who's not able to provide would leave you (and any children) on the streets. So while, he's right, he's also equating that with something as trivial as a pants vs dresses. You wearing leggings from time to time doesn't put the relationship or survival at risk. Also, if girls are so "easily replaceable" then why hasn't he just replaced you over the course of 5 years instead of hammering over your head about how you need to do this or that?…

Gotta love it when someone uses an insult to justify their opinion. She’s getting a raw deal and it’s not just b/c of the mortgage. Have a nice day.

All facts. She's approaching 30, she needs to get the hell out of there.

That should tell you that his love for you is conditional, not based on who YOU are and the qualities you have. He could replace you with another woman who's willing to do all that he says and he wouldn't bat an eye. He's not looking for a wife, he's looking for an employee.

Agreed! My husband and I were together for years before he proposed but as soon as we moved in together, he took over all the expenses and I took over the household duties. Not once did he tell me I need to wear this or that. I'm only on the deed on our home and I work when I want to and my husband does not own 5 properties. He's an insecure jerk and she volunteered to be used by him in order to save on rent...Jesus Christ.

WAIT. So you're investing in his equity and property value that you have NO rights to? Just because it's cheaper than rent? Where's your dignity? This is NOT fair, you're getting a raw deal.

Listen, if you could not have sex for the rest of your life and be happy, this is NOT the relationship for you. No amount of masculinity coming from your man is going to change that. You’re not attracted to him anymore, shit happens. Do the right thing and break it off. He deserves better. And you deserve someone with a low libido. This isn’t about “we’re all damaged”. This is about a fundamental incompatibility that’s reducing your fiancé to TEARS and SUFFERING for Christ sake. It’s not just ab…

My father taught me that 80/20 rule and it served me well!

Agreed. I knew a guy like this...met his dream girl and was pretty insecure about it. He was doing all these shit tests on her to see if she was wife material even though they weren't exclusive. She was dating someone else when they met, but he was adamant about winning her over, so he waited for her for months and was guilt tripping her about it. She gives him a chance and he just couldn't keep it together and projected a lot of his insecurities onto her, turning her off. He would ask questions…

Yeah, it was so messy and stupid and my husband was naive about her intentions. He thought since so much time has passed it was innocent, and I had to explain to him that no one who's happy with their partner contacts an ex from several years ago just to be friends. Anyway, since he doesn't post maybe you can ask him how come he doesn't post anything? Are you two exclusive? Have you spoken about future plans? If his answers are reasonable, then it doesn't hurt to explain to him that you're so ha…

I've learned that our relationship is no one's business. There are older photos of us on his account, but he hasn't posted on social media since before the pandemic. Plus, we live with each other and would rather show love and affection IRL than online. IMO too many people use social media for surveillance than anything else and one time, my husband posted a picture of us and soon enough, one of his exes contacted him under the guise of "friendship". Then she friended a professional contact of m…

I'm a private person in general and don't post him or anything relationship wise on social media. I used to then decided to not continue anymore because I have nothing to prove. The last time I did was our engagement announcement and I hated it so much, I deleted it 3 days later. My husband doesn't post either. We're still "single" on Facebook and we're not friends because there were too many nosy ass people, so I unfriended him so no one can find me.

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe I just got lucky and relationships end.

I didn't set out to date older men during my 20s, but from what I remember, outside of looks and youth they liked that I was mature for my age and showed "potential". It wasn't a bs line because, due to life circumstances, I was mature for my age. Older men didn't take one look and ask me out, they got to know me over time, then in their eyes determined that I had "potential" I guess. I was working in a public facing job where one would visit me a couple times a week and strike up a conversation…

Here’s my thing: you can’t be “alpha widowed” if you don’t get caught up to begin with. If you’re insecure and ashamed, that has nothing to do with the guy, it’s about you and your relationship with yourself.

The minute you start comparing in this department, you’re setting yourself up for a lifetime of suffering. That doesn’t mean you’ll never meet someone who will satisfy you, but it’s best to enjoy the ons for what it was, a momentary experience. The minute you become d*ckmatized (to put it bluntly) the more miserable you’ll end up. I had a “friend” who never got over the best sex she ever had. She’s still single and it completely destroyed her because no man could compare so she couldn’t enjoy se…

Agreed. Reach out for the last time and explain that the necklace was your mother's. If he doesn't, take the loss and the lesson to NEVER take off your jewelry girl! Or if you do, put it in your bag, not somewhere were you'd forget.

When you trust a man and his judgement, leading becomes organic. But you also have to have a man that's confident in his judgment and trusts himself as well. It's a dance. You need to learn how to be emotionally mature so you know when to encourage him if he's feeling unsure, be a sounding board, or respectfully step in when he doesn't understand when something is important to you.

You can't control what people are going to think of you. What's important is what you're comfortable with. If you feel this way, you can stop. You can do this on your own time and on your own terms, and for you, that's marriage and that's okay.

Interesting you say that because when I was younger, this older man was interested in me.I was in my early 20s, him early 30s. While I thought he was handsome, I could tell by his actions and projections that I was out of his league. Being inexperienced in dating,I continued to get to know him and it came clear to me that he was in desperate wife mode. I remember one time that he expected me to cook for him and being so turned off by that. He literally said "What? No breakfast? Where's my breakf…

I think with small inconsequential things such as toys, it's good to remind yourself that you can trust his judgment and tell him that from time to time. He'll be happy to hear that from you. But definitely pause before speaking. It's these habits that chip away at a marriage that in the grand scheme of things, don't matter. You've decided that having the last word on everything matters, more than your husband feeling respected and trusted.
