That may be the case. I’m not arguing that she shouldn’t be charged. Felony assault carries up to a 15 year prison sentence which wouldn’t be appropriate. Some sort of misdemeanor seems better to me no matter the race or gender.

Felony assault carries up to a 15 year prison sentence. It’s for when people are seriously beaten. Even with a minor this doesn’t deserve that type of charge. Society isn’t going to be better by putting this person in a cage. Smack her with a fine and minor record and hopefully she can learn a lesson and become a better person.

Felonies are major crimes. This is hardly a major crime. If he had been injured and needed medical attention that may be different. Felonies typically have potential for multiple year prison sentences. This would make every little scuffle a felony.

There are plenty of sex crimes where the person may have committed the offense, but not be convicted as out system is rightfully setup in favor of the defendant, because we’d rather guilty people go free than the innocent be convicted. No they don’t. When the death penalty is at stake they end up with many more appeals than is typical. The appeals are also much more likely to get heard when a life is at stake which makes sense. I also believe that those sentenced to death tend to get better representation as there are lawyers and organizations that disagree with capital punishment. Well yes, but I assume our 4% fuck up rate would be much higher. Our justice system is generally designed to minimize innocent people being punished at the expense of some guilty people getting away with crimes. I personally prefer it this way myself. We have a generally safe and low crime country overall and it’s getting steadily better and has been for a long time. Violent crime was a much bigger problem in the 80s and 90s.

Death penalty costs far more than life without parole. The appeals process is complex and very expensive. And we still fuck up and execute the wrong person from time to time. The best data says about 4% of death row inmates are likely innocent.

There is probably money to be made since the person that makes the report gets a cut of the money the IRS recovers. I’m not going to do it, but the last thing a semi public figure should do is cheat the IRS. You have to figure someone will report you.

Lots of departments don’t require any special paperwork for tasers. That’s why some cops appear to deploy them quickly and keep the current flowing more than recto control the suspect. I think a bit of paperwork justifying why it was used the way it was is a good idea.

I'm 47 years old. Have never used soap for a normal shower. If I was working in the yard or did something especially dirty, I use soap then. For my pits and bits, I use the shampoo leftover on my hands from doing my hair. Never had a problem. Dermatologist recommended this to my parents when I was a kid.
