This sounds like the bargaining phase of your grief.

Correct, I should have specified. I was under the impression that he hadn't filed yet, so him diverting his paycheck could just mean the vacation goes on a credit card. He'd be on the hook for that expense if its prior to filing.

Agreed but credit card debt is part of the marital estate too. If she decides to run it up because he is diverting his paycheck, he can still be on the hook. This wouldn’t include lavish vacations or shopping sprees, but they both will likely have to turn over statements from checking/credit cards.

Came here for the roasting in the comments section and was not disappointed. You fumbled a bag and cope by telling yourself you were too smart for the relationship. Unless she was mind-numbingly dull and you couldn’t have a conversation with her, save your Mensa styled talks for if they ever invite you.

This is bad advice. You will have to submit your financials to the divorce lawyers you may end up owing for this type of behavior. Also you have to sign off that you don’t have additional bank accounts, if they’re found later you can end up forfeiting them in their entirety with additional penalties tacked on. It may feel good to get some revenge in the moment, but don’t screw yourself in the end. Also her 18k Rolex purchase- you own half of that when you’re divorcing. She can pay you out 9k or …

Agree with all of the above except for the second crack. The marriage settlement is done and dusted when its signed. Child support can always be renegotiated provided there’s a change in circumstance regarding custody or income. For instance, I went from 60/40 (her /me) to 90/10. She went from receiving to paying child support.

Stay strong brother. I was in a dead and loveless marriage. I tried salvaging it for over a year with ineffective counseling for the sake of my child and the fear of the unknown. The hassle of a divorce, especially with a vindictive/spiteful ex is not something I’d wish on anyone. The finances were a but tricky, the custody hurt the most. Once I got the process initiated, there was no looking back. No second guessing. I am 100% better 2.5[ l my. years out than I was before. I enjoy an active lif…

In my divorce agreement, we agreed to the parent getting the day of their birthday. Other things to think about which are no brainers and everyone wins: Mom gets mothers day weekend Dad gets fathers day weekend Alternate major holidays (standard I think) Take as many of your convos as possible to text or email. You want it documented in writing, so theres no he said she said. My ex threw out a number negotiating without the lawyers that I agreed to, went to the lawyers to solidify it, she denied…

Us med grad here. Paid actors for these exams to practice. What you describe is unethical and didn’t happen in my experience.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
