Same, I stopped wearing makeup or removing body hair and I'm much happier for it. I'm now used to seeing my own damn face in the mirror. It was hard at first, but I'm glad I did it. The skin on my face and body is also so much healthier and happier now :)

Every straight male "friend" I've ever had has eventually made it clear that he wants to fuck me. Now the only men I'm friends with are the spouses of my close female friends. I'm much happier this way.

The thing is, I HAVE rejected short guys because of their height, but it was because THEY were so consumed by it. When I dated men, I had a preference for guys 5'10 and under, but so often allll they could talk about was how hard they had it because they were short. It got old really fast. On a first date, one guy even revealed he had written a "one man show" about the discrimination he faced as a short man 😂😂😂

EXACTLY. How am I supposed to enjoy your mAsSiVe c0cK if you aren't willing to give me appropriate foreplay? 🙄

Holy fuck, I dated this guy! He was my first real boyfriend. Everyone loved him and told me how lucky I was that he was my first. It wasn't until YEARS later, in therapy, that I started to understand how monumentally fucked up that whole relationship was. It's awful that these guys exist and dupe other women, but there is a certain relief in realising it wasn't just me. Thanks for sharing this, it's going on my book list 👍

Yeah, Hemsworth looks incredible here, but is almost certainly on performance enhancing drugs to look this shredded. If you see what he looks like between movies, he’s a bit smaller, still 🔥🔥🔥 and athletic, just a bit less massive.

Oh, I’ve been using clean underwear to tie my hair up since I was a kid. Hair ties were gold dust in my house, so unless you were going outside, it was normal to use underwear instead 🤷‍♀️😳

I like some of her style tips, they’ve helped me move out of my hoodie and jeans aesthetic into something that garners more respect. I also liked her advice on being more elegant at home. I definitely tend towards leggings and old t shirts with holes in at home, but I found that when I tried a bit harder to wear nice fabrics and treat myself with more respect when I’m alone, I felt a lot better about myself. I hate the bit about looking good for your man at home, that’s some 1950s, internalised …

It took me years before I accepted my attraction to women, and I got kicked out of half my family (jehovas witnesses) when I eventually did come out. I don’t see myself dating men again, but this is still my favourite sub. I cherish female only spaces, there are so few of them left now. Thanks to the mods for keeping the trolls at bay 💖💜💙

I remember a few years ago when chokers were back in style and I liked wearing them. I was told by the guy I was dating that it meant I was into 24/7 BDSM. I just couldn’t even process what he was talking about. Now I know.

Oh god, I legit used to do this! I told men I have a “praise kink” and wanted to be “worshipped like a goddess”. It was much easier (and more successful) to get the kind of sex I wanted by pretending it was a kinky sex game than it was to try asking for more oral/foreplay. 🙄 Turns out it’s even easier to just worship myself 😅

I really want someone on Etsy to turn this into a necklace, or maybe tiara. Fully life size, but like gold plated or something.

The sassy come backs can feel good, but all you’ve actually taught him here is that sending unsolicited dick pics to women gets rewarded with further attention from those women. Also, there’s a chance you’re just playing into some infantilism/ mommy fetish thing here too. IMO you’re better off continuing to block/delete.

He thinks not lying about the flowers is the part of the story that makes him a possible asshole? No. I refuse to believe that. He despises his wife and knows everything he’s doing is beyond cruel. I seriously hope she gets out of that situation before his aggression stops being so passive.

Exactly. I take her point, but I don’t like calling other women ‘weak’ when they’re doing exactly what they were raised to do, what society constantly tells them they should do. It’s hard to break out of that if it’s all you’ve known and it’s how you’ve learned to value yourself. Places like FDS are peaking women daily, but you can see from the many support posts that it’s hard to break a lifetime of conditioning and learn your own true value separate from male approval.

“Many a true word lies in jest” is the English variant. The wordplay of it is particularly pleasing to me. It’s not surprising that this same sentiment is expressed across multiple languages/cultures. I’d like to know some others, if we’ve got any multi lingual ladies who might know?

I went febfem a while back and am much happier for it. I never claim to be a lesbian, but I let people make that assumption. If anyone outright asks about my sexuality, I ask why they want to know, then tell them they aren’t my type. I’m sick of being a fetish. When guys found out I was bi, they’d ask stuff like “Are you a boob or butt girl?” and I’m just...???? I don’t reduce women to isolated body parts. That’s not how attraction works for me.

Don’t text him. He knows what you gave him and he doesn’t care. The only way you stand a chance of getting anything back is taking official legal routes, but that would mean giving him attention and it’s unlikely to be worth it financially. I’m not a lawyer though, and don’t know any specifics, so could be wrong about that bit. The $10k is the price you pay for learning this lesson. It’s steep as hell, and I’m sorry. You already knew all this though, otherwise you wouldn’t have made the post. St…

The comment you wrote is amazing and so well written. I often have trouble putting my thoughts/feelings into words, but you really captured it all right here. I’m almost crying with how heard and validated you’ve made me feel, and it’s not even remotely directed at me, so I can’t imagine how helpful it was to the woman in question. Thank you for taking the time to write the response and for reposting it here. FDS is truly my favourite subreddit. The women here are so supportive of each other, bu…

I don’t miss sex. I have substantially better and more reliable orgasms by myself. I do miss touch. Having someone rub my feet after a long day. Cuddling up to someone on a cold winter night. Covid has made the desire for human touch greater. Trouble is, I want all that with someone I love and trust. I think I ought to get a dog 🤔

Ok but a ceilidh is SO MUCH FUN, and you need to keep well hydrated during it. I drink pints of water at those things! I wish I was at your party. Dude’s just jealous.

I mean, gynaecology is a fascinating discipline, and has lots of opportunity for research and private work, so I totally understand that there are legitimate male gynos out there doing it for good reasons, but yeah. I avoid male doctors these days whenever I can. Honestly, I kinda avoid men in general as much as I am able. I just really like the women on this sub and the general advice here has helped me so much 💖

For years after I was raped, I denied it happened. I told myself I was too drunk, I didn’t put up enough of a fight, I’d slept with him before, so on some level I must have wanted it. It took years before I finally admitted, in therapy, that I didn’t want it. It wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t asking for it. In the years between the assault and the therapy, I became very outwardly sexual. I talked about sex with male “friends”. I hooked up with lots of random men from dating apps. I dressed provocativ…

Ok I know this is a post about disappointing dicks, but can we take a moment to talk about how tricky carrots are to grow? I’ve harvested so many carrots with huge foliage only to find the tiny shrimp of a root at the bottom and it’s so disheartening. I’m gonna try the Paris round carrots next year, so at least I’m expecting to pull up a little ball.

Lol @ the suggestion that men would only date 20% of women who asked them on a date. The delusion is strong with this one.

Haha, yes thank you! I unmatched after I took the screenshot, but started to doubt myself when I got so many initial comments not seeing what I saw in his message. I'm used to IRL friends not seeing the issues that are clear to me, but wasn't expecting it in this sub.

Yeah, I commented on that post about the “women aren’t expected to look 20 forever” nonsense in the title, because of course a 50 year old woman in the entertainment industry will try to look younger, it’s the only way she will be considered valuable and relevant. Her career quite literally depends on being perceived as being young and hot, which is so fucking depressing.

Off topic, but damn I’d like to go to a beach soon. Just sitting in the sun, listening to the wind and waves, tasting the salt air. I have a duck pond in my local park though, and that’s nice too I suppose. Maybe I should take myself on a day trip when it’s safe again.

Yeah, I’ve discovered in this lockdown that I just don’t wear underwires when I’m not out in public. I need a sports bra for exercise, but around the house I’ve mostly been wearing those soft sleep bra thingies. My breasts are too large and droopy to be comfortable without a bit of support, but fuck underwires. Also makeup, it turns out I don’t wear makeup for myself at all.

Yes! I make mine at home. You just need sugar, water and an acid (I use lemon juice, but you can use lime or vinegar, just have to adjust the recipe). I prefer it to shaving and I find it less irritating and less painful than waxing. The abetweene YouTube channel is really helpful. Just FYI: I still wouldn’t do an at home bikini wax with it!

In the past I’ve always preferred coffee dates because I like to meet in the daytime and at a place where I can easily get out in 15mins if need be. It’s not an issue currently because I’ve decided not to date men for the foreseeable future. I just wondered if you had any advice for someone who is uncomfortable meeting for a meal on a first date?

I went febfem a couple months ago, and this is so helpful, thank you! This sub has helped me with self esteem issues so much but I often thought a lot of the advice just wasn’t applicable to my situation anymore. I like how you broke it down here.

Ugh, I’ve got years of shameful stories! One of my earliest was the first guy I slept with, who used to rank all my friends, and tell me what order and how he’d fuck us all. He also told me that the Kaiser Chief’s song ‘Everyday I love you less and less’ reminded him of me. Very emotionally manipulative. I stayed with him for over a year. 🤦‍♀️

One I discovered incidentally a few years ago was to go to a board game cafe and play for a few hours. You can see how he handles learning the rules to something complicated, what his reasoning skills are like in a strategy game, and (especially interesting) how he handles losing to you (repeatedly). I originally did this because I love board games, but soon realised that getting a man to play games he’s unfamiliar with can really show you some aspects of his personality early on that he might h…

My problem is that I’ve become confident in telling strange men to shove it, but I still really struggle when I already have a social relationship with them. When it’s a colleague at a party or a ‘friend’, my BE POLITE socialisation kicks back in so strongly, it’s hard to resist.

Someone said something the other day that I found exceptionally helpful, “If you don’t have enough of your own self confidence, some of Lizzo’s will be fine.” Her ‘Truth hurts’ song should probably be my ringtone, so I get a little reminder that I’m my own first priority.
