Through the years, I’ve seen guys like this date my girl friends all throughout their 20s, promising them a future and everything. At 30 he breaks up with you and gets engaged to a young 20 something very soon after. My guy friends that were honest about wanting a family and a marriage married their wives in their 20s and didn’t steal their youth from them for their own selfish needs.

That part is hard. I was alone for years and even still I have to work on not letting past trauma take over my brain in this relationship. It’s a very vulnerable spot to tell yourself, “this is a new person, not like the past”.

My advice is do more things you love and it will come through there. When I had totally given up, met him through doing my “quirky” interests. Not the apps which I had been banging my head against the wall with for years.
