What you are thinking of is being asocial, where the person avoids/is hostile to any form of social interaction. I'm not very good at jokes in general but, I think if either 2 didn't have any form of connection, or at least the connection isn't shown to the audience (IIRC Both had shared a kiss in a previous movie) and Peter (or vice versa) just went up to Gamora randomly for no clear reason, then a punch or any form of physical force would be out of place. The Gamora he is approaching is actually from the past when both of them have not interacted yet, which explains the assault. They are still kids, the boy can still be taught how to respect people and not to make absolutely absurd comments like that, and the girl can be taught that the action she took was too extreme and that she could have potentially killed someone. Police said WE had to show evidence that our car was parked at where we lived, rather than THEM giving us evidence that the car was in that state.
