Most every response to my bait made the same argument. Most of the diversity programs in this field are so get more diversity (especially women) to pursue the profession in the first place. Hence why there are currently more men than women.
I've known engineers that could miss work 4/5 business days and still get more done on that one day than most. My guess is the engineers that skipped work in protest of that sexist memo will still get more done this week than their peers.
