Thanks for posting this. I'm on the left on pretty much every issue and was concerned I was vastly outnumbered by conservatives. I actually do care about issues like systemic racism and LGBT rights, but I've come to the conclusion that SJWs are doing more harm than good. As with feminism, I was pretty oblivious of what it really was. I assumed it meant equal rights and counted myself as one (or an ally). Then I read some articles and realized it wasn't what I thought it was and even seemingly mo…

When people say "mainstream feminism" they don't mean everyday people, they mean feminist scholars and activists that hold all the power in academics and politics and control the narrative Unfortunately, there's a website called "Everyday Feminism". They try to appear moderate (and I assumed they were due to the name), but after reading a number of articles it seemed they really didn't understand or care about/empathize with males.

The irony of MeToo actually harming rape victims

Yeah. I remember hearing that the killers had been bullied. Doesn't excuse what they did, but it does say something about our culture. And yet the media wanted to blame it on the violent video games they were playing.

It's like the whole "Those aren't real feminists", "I've never seen the types of feminists you talk about" lines that we see frequently used on this sub by feminists who come over here to pick a fight. As usual when you've got the evidence out in the open they are nowhere to be seen on threads like this. But try telling feminists most guys aren't rapists and they respond with "but rape culture..."

Yeah. I have to admit I was feeling the same way about some women and feminists, but the pushback from men is equally dysfunctional. Maybe worse since they're reinforcing the status quo. I think anger on both sides is justifiable, but how you handle the emotions is the key. And I will say that there are mature men in this communities who are able to sift through the crap. I just can't constantly be bombarded by hatred of anything that isn't white/hetero/cis/etc. It does make me sad that so many …

Before the RP bastardized and appropriated various teachings, David Deangelo had a program called On Being A Man where he talked about this. It's been a few years since I've listened to the program so I don't remember exactly what he said, but basically with each new wave of feminism (I don't remember the exact terminology he used) men and women sort of overcorrect from their previous gender roles. So first you see women getting tougher and men trying to be sensitive and then next phase where wo…

The central tenet of RP is that women are lesser I haven't spent a lot of time there, but my view is that it was the opposite. Women have the power (at least in dating/relationships) and that RPs learn how to shift the power game in the opposite direction. The problem is that people are people and inevitably some people are going to abuse their power. You can build a house for the homeless with a hammer or bludgeon someone over the head with it. Or another analogy: the reason communism failed wa…

That's why the RP stuff is so appealing to guys like us. "Ohhhh. The reason I'm not getting laid is because I'm too beta." Makes perfect sense. I actually think there's quite a bit of truth to it, but it's not the whole truth. And honestly, I only studied the predecessors to RP because TRP had too many toxic elements for my taste. The thing is, I'm not sure the feminists' perspective is the complete truth either. I really hope in the future both sides can move past the us vs. them phase, but I d…

Don't forget transphobic... Years ago I studied what were the predecessors to TRP (David Deangelo and Real Social Dynamics) and they generally seemed like stand-up guys who legitimately cared about bettering themselves. So I was kind of stoked when I stumbled across TRP, but was quickly turned off by the alt-right bullshit. I don't think all red-pillers are like this, but there are enough bad apples to spoil the bunch. I can never call that place a community. I hesitate to even consider it a res…

the misogyny, inflexible ways of thinking, and inextricable ties to the alt-right are pretty much the things that I dislike about TRP. Guys learning social skills and how to pick up girls is fine and good. Yeah. That really turned me off. I studied "success with women and dating" from Real Social Dynamics and David Deangelo so when I first stumbled upon Red Pill I was initially very interested. And I actually see the picking up women aspect as sort of a "carrot on a stick" where the actual desti…
