They could be doing anything on their phones. Playing games, watching videos/movies, reading news or books or listening to music, responding to emails, paying bills. Maybe they're even shopping. They could be doing many things, phones are basically just small computers these days. Maybe they're bored. Or because being able to get stuff done on the fly is super helpful.

The question remains, why doesn’t she have a heavier sentence? The problem with that is; do you think she still would have come clean if she knew she would be facing 10 years of prison time? I doubt it. The defendant may have had evidence in this particular case. But with other cases people will be much more reluctant to come clean from their false accusations if they knew a 10 year prison sentence was the cost.

And in tennis the woman play shorter matches as well.. they play best of 3 sets while the men play best of 5. So the men are playing a minimum of 3, while the woman play a max of three. The woman's prize money is exactly the same as the men even though they're playing a lot less.
