A couple of years ago I came across some talks on YouTube by a retired climate biologist who is convinced there won't be a human left alive by 2027 due to abrupt exponential climate change. His name is Guy McPherson. His talks are a trip if you're interested. I also like r/AbruptChaos, r/dontputyourdickinthat, r/dashcamgifs, r/IdiotsInCars

To be fair, I take everything on the internet "with a grain of salt" as I know that it's all filtered through someone else's perspective. I just find it all very fascinating and want to try to find solutions to whatever is blocking me from a major part of most people's life. I know some subs can lead one down crazy rabbit-holes or make one really depressed (have you seen r/collapse?) I don't think I'm wallowing in self-pity; I'm just trying to solve a problem. But thanks for your input.

I've certainly fantasized about that. The problem has been trying to get a slim woman's interest has been as difficult as trying to fly by flapping my arms really hard.

I've been considering it.

Yes, I'm actually a 40yo dude who is still a virgin. I'm not religious, actually atheist. I've tried and failed so many times I'm starting to think sex is a myth that only exists on the internet and babies are actually delivered by storks. Lol I guess I'm too..... Ugly? Awkward? Nerdy? I don't know. I spend time on places like r/foreveralone trying to figure it out.

I'm a 40-year-old virgin and even I'm not "thirsty" enough to want an obese chick.

Amen. I'm going through the exact same thing. A year ago I woke up to the realization that I was 273 lbs. I'm now 230 and dropping. I just got home from the gym and plan to bicycle 22 miles tomorrow, like I did yesterday. The biggest change has been my mindset.

I've heard this anecdote attributed to Winston Churchill.

Yeah, I was hoping it was an Onion article or something like that.

OP and a lot of these comments describe the keto diet. Do people avoid using this term for a reason?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
