This is the best advice. Also join friend groups in these areas that have women in them.

Wahhh. I was born. Why wasn’t I born into a rich family? I want what they have. I was born, why aren’t I super rich? I have to work for my money? Waaahhh

Because they feel entitled to porn star sex just by virtue of being a man.

Where did you find the info that “more smart men are RP/MGTOW (even without knowing it)” Women have always worn makeup & used push-up bras or similar clothing items The people who believe that the majority of women wear face-altering makeup, have plastic surgery, and have tons of insta followers need to get off their fucking phone “Command”? Lmao. Those people only have as much power as their followers give them What the fuck?? Am I the only woman who pays taxes?! That is like so not fair
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/19 07:40 PM

That doesn’t mean they’d be okay with it. There are plenty of women who let their insecurities translate into controlling and irrational behaviour & expectations.

I returned the book to Walmart it was so bad.

Personally, no. I’m a bisexual woman, in a long-term relationship with a man I want to marry and have a long, happy, healthy life with. So not only do I understand the attractiveness of a beautiful woman, I also have made it a point to try to understand the nature of my husband-to-be, and humans in general. We tend to find attractive humans attractive. That doesn’t necessarily mean we are infatuated with them, or want to cheat. It just means we see them and we see they’re attractive. There is no…

What the fuck is even the point of getting mad about that though? Put in some damn effort and stop being such a pussy. It’s like whining about how Jeff Bezos is rich and I’m not, but yet I’m not willing to do any work at all to get there. My aggression is not towards you btw. Just lazy people in general

You’re right, that is certainly true.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/19 06:29 PM

What does that even mean? Smart men aren’t getting married and having children? Where is your proof for what you evidently believe to be a factual statement?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/08/19 06:29 PM

Ah, yes. All the smart men are RP/MGTOW, all the idiots are having children, and all women are just like your mom.

Nope
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 02:56 PM
2

I think that’s dependent on the individual. Edit: I grew out of it once I started making a conscious effort to work on my self-confidence, boundary, and trust issues, and once I got into a relationship with someone whom I truly wanted to build a future and family with and who wanted the same with me.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 02:38 PM

Immaturity and insecurity. Immature and insecure women play games to feel a sense of power, to “test” someone’s love and commitment, or because they still believe that relationships have to have drama in order to be interesting and/or exciting.

There has to be a line drawn somewhere. The age of consent is 18, where I live. 24 is quite older than 18. I wouldn’t consider her a pervert. It’s all a bit subjective. If a 34 year old woman went after an 18 year old boy I would consider that gross.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 02:45 AM
1

it’s a lot more common than she says Source. The social disgust is in men taking advantage of vulnerable girls.

So how much exactly do you want the government the regulate? Would you like a total nanny state?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 01:57 AM

What’s to be done? It’s already socially reprehensible. If you want a more in-depth and well-rounded argument, look here I didn’t say the content of your argument is repulsive. I said your tone is repulsive.

Is 24 a teenager?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 01:53 AM
2

Do I think a 16 year old would have their best interests at heart when they decided to fuck or enter into a relationship with a pervert? No. Oh, god, your tone is truly repulsive. So, something “being around for centuries” makes it okay? Hmm.

Yes, because age is a marker for brain development, and when a person is fully capable of thinking with the rational part of their brain.

I said that you were arguing in horrible faith because you totally disregarded an important point I had made, but whatever. I wouldn’t want to take away the pure joy you evidently get from patronization. Most men Just because you say it doesn’t make it true, honey. I know that perverts like you are just dying for a society in which this is socially acceptable, but it doesn’t matter, even if most men believe that: it takes two people to consent to a relationship. They didn’t have a choice in that…

Legality is not the same as morality. There are plenty of things that are legal that, when taken to extremes, are immoral, or degenerate, or destructive. Others have given great answers that go into more depth than mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 12:56 AM
2

You’re arguing in horrible faith, why would I try to argue in good faith? You’re telling me that what is and isn’t socially acceptable hasn’t changed at all since the 30s? For women, it wasn’t a matter of being rational enough or mature enough to enter or not to enter into a relationship (marriage). They didn’t have a choice. The age of consent is fine. Like I said elsewhere, alcohol is legal. People abuse alcohol. Should we outlaw alcohol? Hmm, I think we tried that,, didn’t work out so well. L…
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 12:52 AM
5

The age of consent is fine. Doesn’t mean it’s not predatory and perverted for a grown man or woman to go after a teenager. Alcohol is legal. Doesn’t mean people won’t abuse it.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 12:32 AM
3

I guess you missed the part where that was over 3/4 of a century ago, and shit has changed? Oh, you did? Ok. Adolescent brains are not even fully developed until the age of 25. That teenager DOES NOT have the full capability to make rational decisions in many, many circumstances. I can’t wait for all these hypothetical perverts to meet their groomee’s hypothetical fathers.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 12:29 AM
4

Who hurt you?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 12:25 AM

Any grown man who goes after a teenager is predatory and a pervert. Any grown woman who goes after a teenager is predatory and a pervert. Brains don’t even finish developing until 25.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/08/19 12:22 AM
3

Of course you’d think I meant sexual development. Nope. I’m talking about brain development and the ability to make rational decisions. Yes, if a young girl is going to be having sex, it is far better for her to engage with her peer group, not perverts. a successful, gallant gentleman that truly cares about her Hahahahahahahahahahahaha If a man wants an emotional and intellectual relationship with a teenager, it’s because he is developmentally stunted or socially stunted or both.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/19 11:58 PM
3

Well, if he isn’t a pervert, he’ll reject her advances, she’ll go back to 12th grade and go to prom with a fellow teenager, he’ll retain his dignity and date someone his own damn age.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/08/19 11:43 PM
9

Again, no. Women have a natural predisposition to protect young girls. And a lot of us have BEEN the young girl who was either pursued by an older man, or had a relationship with an older man. We know the kind of damage it does and the regret that comes after it. I say this as someone whose grandparents were 18 and 30 when they got together. They were together for their entire lives. However, shit has changed. That was over 75 years ago. We are maturing and developing slower, and there are far, …

Maybe her ex was an absolute cunt and acted like an absolute cunt towards her unless she let him do anal. Let’s say, hypothetically, this woman is a good person and was coerced into doing something she didn’t want to do. That’s offensive to women. Universally.

I never really dated. I had my first “serious” relationship at 13 years old. It was “serious” in that it was the first boy I thought I loved. I also lost my virginity at this age and became pregnant and had an abortion. Note: I had little-to-no parental guidance or support (beyond a home to live in) at this point in my life, and hadn’t had much for a long time. Almost directly after that, I got into another relationship that would last four years, so from 14- to 18-years-old. Between 18 and almo…

How would you react to your partner being beat up/humiliated Like any normal person who loves and respects their partner??? I’d be fucking pissed and worried and I would make sure he was okay. The whole The Rock part of your post alludes to how men view men, not how women view men.

Break up with these horrible women and also grow a spine and quit letting women “manipulate you” into going into debt for them, or quit dating women who think this is okay Edit: wow the point of this post S A I L E D over my head.. my reaction is the same though, whether it’s a cunty woman demanding money or a cunt guy demanding more sex. I’d break up with either of them. I have never let a partner demand anything of me.

If you can’t handle a woman that works in a club, then break up with her. You shouldn’t be in a relationship with someone you can’t trust.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/19 04:26 PM

You clearly have a lot of insecurity. You need to work on that. So far she has done nothing wrong, and there is nothing hinting that she will. Cross the cheating bridge if you ever come to it. You’re driving yourself crazy and eventually you’ll drive her away too.

/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:34 PM

So do I “crave” playing video games because survival? Do I “crave” playing or watching certain sports because survival? Do I “crave” Netflix because survival? How about art? Literature? Music? Are those things not pure pleasure? Why do you think that women cannot have sex for pure pleasure and fun?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:33 PM

You like to make broad claims about all women that are based on your extremely narrow-minded view of deeply-rooted evolutionary drives.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:30 PM

Every relationship dynamic is different. I think people should do whatever works for them and whatever makes them happy. I would never propose to my boyfriend because that just doesn’t fit the dynamic of our relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:26 PM
2

Uh, no. Again, there are many different reasons to cook food. Cooking is fun. Food tastes good. People like to practice their cooking skills. People like to show love by cooking for someone else. We are far, far more than our subconscious. Sad you can’t see that.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:25 PM
1

People have sex for many different reasons. It’s fun. It’s a good workout and gets those endorphins flowing. Orgasms feel good. It can be a very intimate act of love. None of those have anything to do with making babies. By your logic, people cook food only because they want to eat. There is no other reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:19 PM
2

So, according to you, women only have sex in order to have babies?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 11:01 PM
2

So, in your opinion, the majority of young females subconsciously have babies with hot men and then settle with a less attractive provider?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 10:48 PM
1

Out of curiosity - what percentage of the female population (of whatever nation you reside in) do you perceive to want to have a baby by an attractive man, and then “settle” for a less attractive provider?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 09:48 PM
1

The study: The women in this study tend to like attractive men upon first glance over comparatively unattractive men You: All women what ~Chads~ even if they’re convicted felons and if they can’t get ~Chad~ they’ll settle for soyboys Ok buddy I’m 100% behind the notion that looks matter to women. I laugh, heartily, at the notion that all women only want the ultra hottest of men and that their hotass looks are literally all that matters.

I’m just better You have some wild and hilariously uninformed opinions, man. I’m dyin’ over here
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 07:29 PM

Maybe a general trend in a subset of the population.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 07:07 PM
4

Maybe it’s a combination of both. Also, I do feel obligated to mention that it’s not fair to talk about women as a whole in this regard.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 06:55 PM
8

Well, my (probably unpopular) answer to that is that misogyny is the reason some people don’t allow for women to mature. Lol Some people dehumanize women and instead of viewing them as independent individuals, they view them as a monolith whose members have worth insofar as they are young and hot.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 06:44 PM
4

Well, who is “we”? Society?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 06:34 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 06:25 PM

Lol, it’s funny, I didn’t even say that, either. In fact, that’s a whole other conversation. Your blinders are just so big that once you perceived I was claiming the shame against men is justified, it’s literally all you were able to see or think about.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/19 06:11 PM
1

The question asker asked, who is more shamed - men or women? In my opinion, men are shamed more nowadays than women are - HOWEVER, it is important to note that women as a group are still dealing with the fallout of centuries and centuries of men’s preferences being ingrained in our societal psyche. Nowhere, not here nor in my OP, did I state that the shame levied against men is justified. You’re probably going to go ahead and assume that’s what I mean anyway, and if so, this conversation is over

No, history “doesn’t change what is factually happening today”, rather, what is happening today is happening BECAUSE of what happened yesterday and because of what’s happened since the dawn of human civilization. Some people like to have a general idea of how the world works and the events & influences that brought us to this point. It’s useful when trying to understand psychosocial & sociological concepts.

Men’s preferences have literally been ingrained into our collective societal psyche since the dawn of time. I would say NOWADAYS men are more shamed for their preferences, though, in some circles.

I empathize more with women because I am a woman. However, I’m an empathetic person in general, and have been working on empathizing more with men because I want to be able to support & understand my boyfriend to the best of my ability. Bill Burr’s podcast is a superb resource for learning to empathize with men (as far as I can tell).

This is insecurity on the man’s part and something he needs to learn to get over, not just for the relationships sake but for his own sake, as well. This goes for women too. You haven't given me a substantial issue to address. You asked a question: why is CP the only crime it is illegal to consume after the fact. I never said whether violent videos should or shouldn't be made illegal. Someone else asked, "what is the difference between looking at CP and looking at a video depicting real violence? Both include crimes committed before a person watches them." One of the differences I gave is that people seek out and view CP with intent (it is very difficult to find, therefore if you do find it, chances are you didn't "accidenally find it"). Videos depicting violence, however, are not difficult to find, and …
/r/MensRights17/10/14 03:01 AM

My point in CP being hard to find is that it is also consequently hard to "accidentally happen upon". Whereas with "violent videos" it's easy to accidentally happen upon them. So I'm still not seeing the relevancy of your comment. So what if they would be difficult to find if they were illegal?
/r/MensRights17/10/14 12:16 AM

"Violent videos" can mean anything. "Child pornography" means one thing. CP is very strictly regulated, with clear parameters and almost no fallout. How should "violent videos" be regulated? Violence is ubiquitous in our world. Like you said, news agencies indirectly glorify violence. CP is NOT ubiquitous. If you don't want to be arrested for possession of child porn, don't download it. Don't search for it. "Barely legal" is a thing for a reason.

You said, "This is Feminism" in response to my comment. I'm not a feminist.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 05:14 PM

Because you have to try really fucking hard to find, view, download child porn. It's not easily accessible. So someone has to search pretty hard with intent to find CP. Not so with your news or violent videos. People create child porn with intent to distribute. The ONLY PEOPLE WHO VIEW IT are people who specifically want to view child pornography.
/r/MensRights16/10/14 04:22 PM

/r/MensRights10/10/14 06:11 PM

I disagree. Women are physically and medically able to abort pregnancies due to modern medicine and technology. That is a privilege that follows from the right to basic bodily autonomy. The law stopping some women from doing so is a disadvantage. Full stop.

I'm not even going so far as parenthood, I'm talking more basic than that. In some American states, women do not have full control over their own bodies because the law doesn't allow for it. Do you consider this an advantage?

Dear lord. Let's try this one more time. I'm still waiting for your ground-breaking evidence that history is wrong and power and property have been passed down the female line. Oppression is the inequitable use of authority, law, or physical force to prevent others from being free or equal. Men oppressed women in this way. If you want to argue that poor men were oppressed by their governments on the basis of their gender in regards to conscription, cool, do that. I won't stop you. If you want to…

While the white feather is an interesting phenomenon, it still is not enough evidence to refute my argument that historically men have oppressed women. Again - Oppression is the inequitable use of authority, law, or physical force to prevent others from being free or equal. The white feather shows that women had influence over men. Of course they did, feminism would not dispute that. However, women did not use authority, law, or physical force to prevent men from being free or equal. In Canada: …

Fundamental problem with your argument: The fact that our (Western, I'm assuming) society was, and to a lesser extent still may be, patriarchal wasn't by design. Men didn't gather round and one day decide to create a patriarchal society. It's simply the way our society evolved. Feminism deals with the impact of this society on women, and other marginalized gender groups. To answer your original question.. Feminism: an ideology that promotes equal rights and opportunities for women and other marg…

The idea that an individual who has the power to send others to war, but who is not subject to war herself, is somehow "second class" is fucking ridiculous. Nope nope nope.~ How about the idea that women did not have the same rights to education, to work, to their bodies, to their earnings, to their children that men did? Still weren't treated as second-class citizens? And women WERE subject to war. Women were part of the war machine at home. Women were nurses. Women were secretaries. And now, w…

The OP was discussing the double standard in statutory rape. They end by saying: It's the recurring themes again: women's inherent value and lack of agency which implies to me that this double standard is somehow completely explained by those "recurring themes" (which I also don't agree with. Children who are under the age of consent are protected by that law because their brains are literally not fully developed and they do NOT have the ability be making informed decisions about sex. What? It's not like saying that... at all... I think you're assuming that I'm saying women and their gender group have no role to play in the kind of response this rape case got. I'm not. But it's illogical to completely leave out the role men and their gender group play. And also, why is an issue that is perpetuated by men, that affects men, invalid? The individual men that make up a gender group don't act as one big integrated robot. There are 3.5 billion men. They are all different. So, when …

I'd say the "why" matters when you're comparing the two, like OP. I can agree with your last point. If it is medically unwarranted and the person can't consent, it's a violation. In the case of circumcision here in North America, though, I don't agree that it's medically unwarranted.

Circumcision reduces the risk of HIV and other infections. Here, in the West, it is done in a safe environment at the behest of the child's parents. FGM includes cutting off the clitoris, clitoral hood, labia, or sewing the vagina partially or completely shut. The majority of FGM includes removing flesh. The majority of the time it is done at home with a razor blade or scalpel, with no anaesthetic, through a wide range of ages. The risk for infection or other side effects is great. One is done t…

"The barbaric act" aka circumcision aka the social norm of cutting off foreskin while the boy is an infant, and if not an infant then under anaesthetic, for medical or traditional purposes. Quite common in our society, although controversial. Cause that's what the above article is talking about. And it's talking about comparisons of the above ^ to female genital mutilation.

And there are other types, as well. According to UNICEF, the majority of girls/women upon whom FGM is forced have flesh removed. The majority of the time this happens at home, with a razor bla…

They're not the same, though. Circumcision in the West is typically done to avoid infection, and has become a social norm. It is done in infancy by medical professionals. Female genital mutilation has no health or medical benefits, and comes with a whole host of horrible side effects. It is a violation of human rights. You cannot logically equate the above. First of all, feminism is a theory/political movement. Not a person or even a group of people. As for "feminism" not wanting the MRM to exist.. there are other men's rights groups out there that manage to discuss their namesake without shitting all over women or women's rights.

I take umbrage because the way you describe it paints the women in your class as the enemy. Obviously feminism = bad, according to MRM. Emma spoke under the faction UN Women. She spoke about women's rights. There are many issues that affect women and men differently. Hence UN Women. Isn't the MRM supposed to be championing men's rights? Where are all the posts in this sub talking about women's rights, though??? Weird. It seems logical to think that feminism and UN Women arose out of a specific need. That depends on whether you believe that's because women have less opportunity to rise to that position and face more gender-based challenges, or whether you believe men are simply more likely to pursue those positions (or both). Do you believe men face gender-based challenges and have less opportunity when it comes to the education faculty, or getting a job as a teacher?
/r/MensRights01/07/14 10:09 PM

Well, no. There are some areas that are pursued mostly by men and some areas that are more difficult for women to break into, and some that are a mixture. Vice versa. Hey, thank you! I really appreciate your response. You're right - maybe once more women are developing games, we'll see more lead female characters. Although considering all the other immense tasks game developers have to take upon themselves and do so well, I don't think it would be that difficult to synthesize a woman's perspective.

No, he's using delusional, feminist-victim language. If male-leads were rare in video games it would make sense. They're not. That's why his joke is ridiculous and doesn't even make any damn sense.

Lmfao what. Okay, ignoring that, Objectification isn't about whether or not some woman is "useful" to some misogynistic prick. It's about the way our society looks at women, primarily as "objects" so-to-speak with which to have sex. It is the default in our society to judge a woman based on how well she measures up to our standard of "sexy". You can see this in the way women are portrayed in the media, the poor self-image and self-esteem of many young girls and many women, /r/theredpill, prevale…

No. By your logic. You said: Not being able to make the choice of a male or female hero is sexist, right? This would include games that have a male-only lead. Unless your agenda is petty revenge, in which case you should boycott games that have female-only leads, even though there are hundreds of games with male-only leads... Yeah, I'm failing to see your point here. Good luck with getting people on board for that.

For the gym thing, a lot of women feel more comfortable working out with just other women. Also, some companies like Curves have programs that are designed specifically for women. There are co-ed gyms. Most men go to co-ed gyms. If you are uncomfortable working out with women, or are interested in a men's gym in your area, why don't you start raising some awareness or raising some funds?

I thought the article stated that since it's been abused they got rid of it. Or are getting rid of it.
/r/MensRights23/06/14 05:31 AM

In your previous post you said "unless a woman is tied up or incapacitated she still has options". While this may be true in a literal sense - a woman can physically walk over to the police station and report her abuser - it shows a complete lack of empathy on your part of the psychology of abuse. I suggest reading up on battered person's syndrome, and maybe reading some first-hand accounts of lifelong abuse from a woman's perspective.

Lol your entire 5-paragraph long post was trying to prove that I didn't have a good reason to be sarcastic in one post. Huge waste of both of our time. Only thing worth responding to is your complete lack of empathy regarding the women in abusive relationships this law was introduced for. And I think that speaks for itself.
/r/MensRights23/06/14 04:58 AM
-7

So you're saying that if a woman endures years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of someone, the person who was murdered has also been abused? Pretty sure you have to be alive to be abused. I'm pretty sure murder is a little more definite than abuse. And I'm pretty sure there's no point in COMPARING abusive relationships and murder.

And the article states that the law was introduced with the intention of lessening sentences for abused women who saw no other possibility than killing their abuser. Peoples' thoughts, actions and feelings are influenced by their genes and their environments. That our society has been patriarchal for so long has shaped the way men and women think about, act toward, and feel about women (yes, and men). Male privilege refers to the social theory which argues that men have unearned social, economic, and political advantages or rights that are granted to them solely on the basis of their sex, and which are usually denied to women. Man-hate group You mean radical feminism? I haven't spoken to any radical feminists, but from what I know of them I can't imagine that would go well for men. I agree with you there. Patriarchy theory ... implies hatred of men Wat? No, it doesn't. Patriarchy is the societal construct that favours men and disfavours women. Society naturally evolved this way, because right from the beginning men have been physically dominant over women. It's just the way it happened. And as our society evolved and …

You should. Right, cause I have the ability to go out this very minute and change the whole world. How do you plan to go accomplish this? Education. Research. Empathy. Dialogue. Sorry I can't accomplish that in the span of a day. You haven't actually made any real attempt to discuss things. Um, would you like me to tag you in the other discussions I've been having with the men of this subreddit? Cause I can do that. Just because I'm not responding nicely to the sarcasm, challenges, and contempt …

Feminists protest our events, lie about us in the media, and generally try to ruin our lives Okay, some examples/sources, please? And not the Toronto CAFE meeting I so often see presented here, which was embarrassing, damaging, and should never have happened? For a great many feminists Examples again, please? You must have read about/spoken with a great many feminists to come to this conclusion.

You called it feminism. Actually that's the name it was given upon it's conception, because it dealt with women's rights. You know, like right to vote, right to higher education, right to body autonomy, right to own property, etc., all of which women as a sex in Western society had to fight to get, and many of which women in other countries are still fighting for. You named your Great Satan -- Patriarchy -- after men Okay, the drama is quite unnecessary here. Patriarchy is the social construct d…

it's very hard to convince others I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything at the moment. I was drawn here because I am interested in men's rights, men's perspectives, men's issues. I was curious and wanted some discussion. What I found was a sub that seems to mostly hate feminism, and I didn't understand that. I'm beginning to understand that. called to task on the things you say Oh, you mean like: good to hear it. now make yourself heard. Lazy dismissal. Instead of being sarcastic, do it …

Also, what? Half of Americans are men who "suffer from feminism"? And how do you come to that conclusion?

No, I'm just trying to understand MRM (and feminism). I'm very interested in men's rights and male perspectives. I thought that feminism and MRM would naturally go hand-in-hand, but boy was I wrong.

All you said was, I'm surprised that Marc Lepine is an anomaly at this point..., suggesting that you're surprised that more men who have been victimized haven't shot up a bunch of women. And I have no idea what the point of that link is.

First of all, do you know what mental illness is? Most peoples' mental illness doesn't make them want to kill people. Secondly, it's interesting how you completely and conveniently leave out the part where he had an extremely abusive father. I'm just alarmed that you would say something like that. And disgusted.

Also, I would consider open-minded discussion "doing something".

Lol, like what? Call in the feminist brigade and admonish them for their wrongdoings? What I did in fact was finish my break and go back to work. Sorry to disappoint you.

Yes, people. Not just women. Not just feminists. I've seen many, many men call other men "pussy-whipped" for the way they treat their spouses/SOs.

Oh, thank you for your approval, I shall get right on that. What am I supposed to say to that? now make yourself heard instead of being sarcastic, do it As if I'm not already making efforts.

More sinister than the definition I gave you. Unfortunately you seem to have a biased view on the matter. I agree that there have been feminists that lie and cheat. But not all feminists lie and cheat. I'm giving legtimacy to the idea that there can be gender equality, that at this point in time both sexes and all genders face their own unique sets of issues, and that they must exist together, so they should try to understand each perspective. That is what I am legitimizing when I say I'm a femi…

So would you say MRM is anti-feminist?
/r/MensRights19/06/14 01:21 AM

Why do you think that? Because you believe feminism to be something much more sinister and dangerous? Or because you think that one person can't make up for many who might've done wrong before them?

You'd better believe I don't refer to my loving boyfriend and father, and the other good men I know, as benevolent sexists.

That's like saying activism for men's rights hurts men. The feminism that I know and wholeheartedly believe in benefits both men and women. I can see there is a lot of work to be done to redeem the words, terms and ideology of feminism. I truly hope that this sub and any men who think feminism = man-hating will come to understand and accept true feminism alongside their own MRM. THE ONLY WAY TO DO THIS is by opening an honest dialogue between both sexes. Edit: I guess this has come across as pro…

I'm sure I could find a case where a male teacher claimed the student was coming on to him. It's all disgusting. I'm glad she's being charged appropriately. Hopefully this will be a message to other female teachers who might think it's different when the sexes are reversed.

She's being charged with rape and forcible sodomy. Like any other person who commits statutory rape should be. Edit: also, wat. Men aren't women's enemies, women are. Actually, close-minded, or ignorant, or violent, or destructive, or psychotic, or selfish people are women's enemies. And men's enemies.
/r/MensRights18/06/14 07:37 PM

Actually, it's not a different story. She's being charged with rape and forcible sodomy. As she should be. As a man would be. I thought this was an interesting excerpt from the article, however: The men are saying things like, "Lucky boy!" and "I need to go back to school!" and "This kid deserves a medal!"

So you think that the best way to eliminate the "real men" ideals is by parroting similar ideals back at women? Good luck with that. I think it would be more beneficial to work on mutual and honest communication between genders.
/r/MensRights17/06/14 06:51 PM

It might have started like that, but eventually the women who are naturally skinny/thin/a different shape than 'curvy' said, "hey, we're real women too." Both (real men, real women) are arbitrary, ignorant and lead nowhere.
/r/MensRights17/06/14 05:55 PM

No, I'm talking about when you said: "You never hear about what a "real women" would or would not do." Well maybe it's time to start, at least until they stop Well maybe it's time to start Well maybe it's time to start Why? What would this achieve?

Both genders shame their own gender. Both genders shame the opposite gender. All of it is damaging. I have a male friend on Facebook who frequently posts things like "If your boyfriend can't drive a standard, you have a girlfriend." Etc. I also have a female friend on Facebook who recently said something along the lines of "skinny girls should cover up so they don't make bigger girls feel bad". I wish the sensible people of both genders would band together and fight for equality alongside each o…

I agree. No one person should stand for being "policed" on account of their gender. Just as no one person should feel inferior on account of that is deemed a worthy appearance for their gender.

You didn't answer my question. If you hate the "real men" thing so much, why apply it to women as well? Petty revenge?
/r/MensRights17/06/14 03:42 PM

You would return this ridiculous idiosyncrasy and consequently alienate all the sensible women who DON'T think in these terms? Why? Why not try to eliminate both?
/r/MensRights17/06/14 03:24 PM

Actually, the phrase "real women" is thrown around all the time. Most prominently, "real women have curves". It's not just for men. Both genders suffer these insufferable arbitrary standards. Edit: a word

Well, as a woman and someone who thinks both men and women have important rights to strive for, I can tell you that I personally don't think all MRAs are idiots, by any means.

I'd say it has to do with you proclaiming to know what all "modern feminists" want, and then demonizing feminism in the guise of being righteous.

I'd just like to jump in and say that the actions of two women do not reflect on women/feminists as a whole. Feminism is not vying for men vs. women.
