Sexual selection goes against the principles of natural selection: certain traits that give a survival disadvantage are common in a population because they increase the chance of getting mates. 1	6/6/6/...7? It’s both. The famous sexual selection example is the male peacock, who displays large and colorful tail feathers. These feathers make it more likely to be eaten by predators, but also attract females. On average, better tails mean more mates. Having a phone isn’t the same as a sexual selection trait, because a phone is just a straight up advantage.
