You miss all the chances you don't take.

I'm 54; my last GF was 24, and my most recent date was 22. I don't get any dirty looks. One of my ex-GFs friends said 'It won't last' and our relationship (nearly 4 years) lasted longer than hers. I do get a few comments in the street, but it's rare and normally from guys. They've not been rude, varying from 'lucky dog' (possibly true as I'm not good looking) to 'bet he's a sugar daddy' (not true).

I'm a little puzzled, only 20 days ago you said you were already sleeping with your dads older work colleague. Did this not work out? Lets assume you are serious and want to date an older man. It's not hard, you simply place an advert on reddit or any other dating site saying you're looking for an older guy and watch your inbox flood with replies. I'm in my early 50s and date any legal age without making a drama out of it. I work in a 'sensible' industry (finance) and it's never been a problem o…

It's not hard; many women will contact you on Tinder actively looking to date an older man.

Keep it simple. Nope, keep silent about it. I can't talk about it because it may become a legal case. Any explanations to anyone may harm his defence. The only person he explains to should be his lawyer in the event he needs one.

As mentioned, your friend should hopefully not confirm in any communication that the relationship started when she was 15. He should not respond to or communicate with his ex. Anything he says about this will be used against him if it ever did go to court. In all honesty though, given the poor wording of the law I suspect little would come of any prosecution attempt

I am puzzled why you are considering a defence attorney when your friend is the one this happened to. I do hope your "friend" has not confirmed their relationship in any communication between them. Because the best course of action would be to say nothing.

But the more important question would be what if one of your daughters pursued Leonardo DiCaprio and he gave in to her?

But here's the thing. As an older man you don't have to give unwanted attention to any younger women at all. There are enough women who want the older man/ younger woman dynamic, who you can find without lifting a finger. If you add into the mix the fact he's Leonardo DiCaprio and very wealthy, I am willing to bet his inbox is full of enough offers to keep him busy.

Yes, but as others have said, a reasonable belief that someone is over the age of consent is a defence.

Not in most of Europe and most US states. Why do people think the age of consent is 18 when: it is 16 in 30 US states it is 17 in 8 US states in the remaining 12 states it is 18, but there are often close in age exceptions.

You're correct that it will live on but rulings like this can be narrow or wide in scope. I suspect it will be the former

I think the issue is that technically the woman consented to sex with a specific person (her former classmate), not someone else. I think this is an extreme case and probably about the limits of where the law is likely to go on this issue.

Keep it low key rather than open seduction: We've known each other for years, would you be interested in dating me?

If, and only if, you might be interested in him, then invite him out for coffee and lunch events. Do however make it plain that any relationship should never come into conflict with your job.

I mean 5 years yes but 15 to 30 years older? I met my GF when she was 20 and I was 50; we've been together 3 years. Prior to that all my GFs and FWBs were at least 20 years younger than me. I've never been interested in juggling 3 women at the same time; juggling one GF and a wife is as far as I want to go :) terrible advice like “don’t sweat it, most 18 year olds love older men”. It might not be strictly accurate, but I've never had a problem getting a date with someone more than 20 years young…

Wait for her to wake up maybe? If someone doesn't reply in about 24 hours, then you perhaps have a problem.

I can't believe people on here are such wimps. If you're attracted to a woman, and it's legal, then you should always ask her out.

First time with anyone can be a little disappointing, regardless of whether its your first time ever. I regard my first time as fun and enjoyable and memorable but a long way from making its way into my top ten sexual experiences. I would still tell B that you appreciated the evening and see if there's any chance of repeat performances in more romantic/ comfortable surroundings than a closet.

And that if anything is the reason you're not getting laid. It's not because you're ugly it's because you're worrying about stupid issues that don't matter.

You've been invited over, you really don't care. If its a problem as I've said either take more pics or skype her. The only thing preventing you getting laid is your obsession over irrelevant issues.

It doesn't matter, as I've explained earlier

What's your problem. You look perfectly normal. And stop mentioning your pictures, I've seen them

I have less hair than you, and probably weigh 40-60lbs more. I still have a GF 30 years younger than me. If you whine about how you look or you're insecure about it, you remain a kissless virgin. If you go out on dates often enough, you don't remain a kissless virgin forever.

Lol I was born only 20 miles from Manchester. Where you're from doesn't matter.

Okay what region are you from then?

You don't really care whether the pics are the same enough, you just want the end result. Just meet her, and resolve any doubts she has about who you are by the methods I told you. And if you think your pics are crappy take more pics. Ideally take pics somewhere on a nice day with a good background.

FFS, just have a skype or video call with her. Or send a photo holding up a card with your name on it and the date. There are plenty of ways round this.

Simple answer - no. You're dark haired and reasonably handsome. You possibly could do with more exercise, but that's a very minor point. What is probably not happening is you're not putting any effort into dating. Dating takes work, practice and a willingness to have lots of fails before success. If I had your looks I could get laid in 48 hours or less.

I'm actually married in a discretely open relationship; I have been living with my current GF for 3 years. We met when she was 20 and I was 50. Before that I had no problem finding long term GFs and FWBs from various sites. Most of the women I've dated since my late 30s have been between 17 and 25. I believe that if I broke up with my GF today I could be seriously dating within a month. Just in case you ask, I don't look good or workout :)

There are a fairly large number of women who genuinely want to date older men, especially if you are a calm easy going financially stable guy. By that I mean you don't have to be rich, just well enough off to not be continually worrying about money. A search of many dating sites will turn up a fair number. You just have to make sure your replies fit in with what she wants. Edit: Just for the sake of clarification I am talking about women willing to meet/date after having an online conversation a…

but in Britain at the very least, it is a huge taboo This is incorrect. I've dated with an age gap of from 20 to 32 years over the last 15 years without any issues.
