This is some pretty bad female behavior. But you allowed her to treat you badly. Setting boundaries would have helped here. Telling her that you aren't interested in hearing about her ex would have set a boundary that would have made her respect you more. She still sounds bereft of morality and is definitely not worth a second date even if she decided that she liked you. I take responsibility for the ways that I allow other people to treat me. If someone treats you badly, demand better treatment…

I wonder if we could apply the principle of being less invested than she is. If you're highly invested in her opinion of you and in the relationship, then you'll play into the games and accept the manipulation. But if your investment is smaller than hers, and you're more invested in your own views than hers, then you're ready to walk away anytime she behaves badly and you won't accept her attempts at manipulation. This troubles me somewhat because it means that even good relationships are tenuou…

It's a worse deal because the man shoulders virtually all of the risks of marriage with none of the benefits. With traditional marriage there is some expectation (traditionally) of sexual fidelity and emotional support from the woman, but men don't get than in an open marriage. And women get to take half the man's stuff whenever they want.

Books like The New "I Do" propose open marriage as an alternative to faltering traditional marriage. But open marriage is an even worse deal for men than traditional marriage.

I don't have sources handy but according to my past research, the filthy rich dark triad elite (almost all male) engineered and promoted feminism, painting it as a female-led grassroots movement. I'm interested to see the evidence for this hypothesis.

Offers zero advice for shit tests other than holding frame and telling them to fuck off if they say something annoying. Mark says in Models that he think that shit tests from women are less frequent than PUA claims they are, and he generally believes that women - at least quality women - don't play games. I personally don't know enough to say.

I think that Models is Red Pill because it's antithetical to the gynocentricity of Blue Pill philosophy. Blue Pill is the belief that women make the rules for male-female interactions, and that men need to focus on pleasing women and on providing for women's emotional comfort and validation. RP is about being true to yourself as a man and making sure your needs get met. The focus in Models on honesty helps you to get your needs met. PUA has a somewhat different focus than Models. If you're looki…

Attachment theory helped me to understand why some people fear intimacy, some people crave intimacy and are needy and clingy, and some people are comfortable with intimacy and find healthy relationships relatively easily. These three "attachment styles" are called avoidant, anxious, and secure, respectively. It sounds like you have an avoidant attachment style. I have an anxious attachment style, which causes me to be somewhat needy and to do the typical supplicating Nice Guy behaviors. I've bee…

My experience is that college-educated men don't necessarily do much better with women than men without college degrees. I'm a graduate student in physics, and I have two bachelor's degrees. All of my fellow physics grad students have college degrees, and a few of us have master's degrees, and most of us have struck out with women. Of the 21 men of my incoming physics grad student class, 2 have girlfriends from undergrad, 1 is dating an undergraduate here, and the other 18 are single and unattac…

Take your pick of these men I hate this, because it's true. My physics department is about 90% men, so the handful of women can pretty much take their pick. I'm a grad student in physics, and my last girlfriend was a grad student in math, and for her, dumping me was no big deal because she's surrounded by intelligent, available, commitment-ready men. In my experience, knowing a lot about science/math seems to increase a woman's SMV, at least among STEM men, even if a STEM career doesn't increase…

I'm still not totally convinced. Increasing overall wealth in a country will indeed make the top people richer, but I'd like to see evidence that the entire sexual revolution and feminist movement were planned/executed/bankrolled by the top dozen or so richest Americans. There are a small enough number of them that we can name names. I'm willing to believe it if there's good evidence for it, but if this explanation is correct, then it conflicts with the standard narrative of evopsych, which is t…

So how did feminism make the Koch brothers rich? I interpret this post as asserting that the dissolution of Marriage 2.0 was an intentional move crafted by oligarchs to make money. I don't doubt that many of the world's wealthiest and most powerful men are Dark Triad Alphas, but I'm not seeing how a dissolution of Marriage 2.0 would benefit them, and if even if it would, how they'd carry out such an intentional dissolution in a way that went completely unnoticed by everyone else.
